I am very lucky to own one too and totally agree with all of your review. The weight in the hand feels amazing and it writes beautifully, fine nib is amazing as well. Thank you so much for the tip about the box being able to hold two pens on the other side, would never have found that out. I have the resin red version of the M as well that came out first (had to have them as a set when I saw the signature version, thankfully having a special birthday helped last year as signature is not cheap of course) so if I ever wanted to display them I could have both in the same box now, great stuff. Design is amazing with the magnetic cap as a cool feature, definitely my personal flagship Montblanc.
Love the M series, such a cool design. I have a few MB, 149, 146, 144 set, and a Starwalker which I think has the same nib as the M. Awesome review, it just makes me want one of these even more.
I don't understand how Montblanc can say they're supporting project red and utilize their branding while only donating 5 Euro per pen when the pen is 1685. While I don't know what the profit margins are on the pen itself, I definitely think that more than 5 euros could be contributed.
Thought the exact same thing as she said it. That's actually embarrassing on Montblanc, looks like they spent more on the packaging then they are donating. And its probably a write off as well to boot.
Montblanc was my first fountain pen - I bought a Starwalker Ultra Black and had it nib swapped to a BB. I jumped into the deep end. The pen was just so perfect I had to have it - anything matte black and ruthenium and I’m like 😍😍😍
for a long time, Montblanc Pens were out of my reach, financially, but now things have changed for the better. I currently have a 149 B Nib and a JFK edition M Nib. I also own some rollerball models and I've been wanting an M. Perhaps now ill shift to looking for the metal one, because I was looking for the red one. I have that same blue ink! Awesome Review BTW!
Yes, yes and yes to your questions! Own 5 MBs and love the uniqueness of each. I can appreciate your thoughts on this particular pen, I don't own it but it looks stellar! Great review as always! 👍
Do I own a Mont Blanc no, but only because I can’t afford to. I would buy one in a heartbeat. Overpriced? Well, true that a $5.00 fountain pen will do the same thing, but that is not why you buy this brand. So, overpriced, yes, but worth it if you think it is worth it.
$2,000 with no converter??? That's harsh. I'm upset that the Safari at $40 doesn't supply with a converter. Montblanc pens write well. I enjoy mine. The look is subjective. But if if you like it, that is what matters. I'm just disappointed there is no converter. EXTREMELY, but I am happy if you're happy :)
@@MariaM-lj3hv But $2000 for just a cartridge pen?? Even if it's a limited edition, that's a biting price tag. The pens are great, but this is one of the reasons some people don't like MB.
Curious why? I think the pen is a design based on a set of aesthetics that favors form over function, and not with a pleasing form, more a study in omission. The nib is not unlike the nibs on their thin pens of the Seventies. A stiff design for use in applications where a ball pen works best. It’s heavy. I do like many Mb pens.
@@jamesjacocks6221 I have two problems with the pen. Some well know designer designed the pen, and that’s by itself is to make it great. Also, you can’t post the pen. It’s just a pen. I also feel it’s remarkably overpriced, as with most all Montblancs. This represents someone trying too hard to be different.
@@markcollins2876 Could say the same for the owners of overpriced Pelikans, Viscontis, Pilots, Sailors, Parkers, Conids, etc. etc. Actually, I believe that any sucker who paid over $20 for a fountain pen is trying too hard to be different when a ballpoint can do just the same.
Beautiful pen!
Thanks for the review ❤
This seems like a very nice pen, but did you say it doesn't come with a converter? That's astonishing at that price point. Very cheeky!
They have different types of converters, when this series came out, they might not have had one that fit this pen, but they might now.

@@ciphon99 Totally! Not even donating 1% of the earnings
I’m thinking of buying this pen because for some reason I like this design and the price ( the black Edition). Very nice review as always 👌 ✅ 🖊

I do love a weighted blanket...
Very good review. Have you been able to use it with a converter? If so, which one have you used successfully? Thanks in advance
Beautiful pen, but no converter? At the price of this pen??
Thank you. Let me know if you ever want to sell this guy
Are you the owner of Gourmet Pens?
The price! Whoa. Glad you like it tho :)
Huh. I like it, but then I *always* seem to like a Lamy.
It's pretty but I can't use heavy pens. Seriously though, no converter? That's ludicrous in that price of a pen.
Montblanc should sponsor you instead of those motor cars and horse races!

The M was designed to only use cartridges, however I was able to use any Schmidt K5 (Kaweco, Pelikan, old MB) converter with my M.

In my opinion the design is terrible.
