I really like that it can a power quite a lot. Lot more than I what I have in my trailer, but that leaves power in reserve. I saw that it was on sale on Amazon. For the same price as the Predator. So for the same price for more power and dual fuel, plus 3 year warranty. Made my choice easy.

    Question how reliable you think this unit is on days of running or wonder if this unit would run like 2 weeks straight without breaking down. I like the L-14 30amp plug. That’s the big question how reliable for home backup. Would it still run if you removed the battery 🪫 thank you

      I don’t think you have a problem with this one but you should stop it every 24 hours and check your oil or every time you refuel, as far as removing the battery it needs the battery to perform properly, especially with all its electronic parts.

  • @pcspecialistpdx

    It would have been nice if the inverter could have put out 30A on either leg so that you could have the full 30A for a 30A RV and could support a less balanced load when doing split phase 240V. I feel they skimped on the inverter and because they've done so it can rarely be used to it's full potential.

    Great videos. Trying to figure out if I go with the Westinghouse 4500 DFC or this GENMAX 6000. Connecting to a Reliance Transfer Switch powering 6 circuits in my home (2 refrigerators, sump pump, FIOS, LED lights, gas boiler, some outlets). Sorry, lots of questions!
    1) Any notable build quality differences?
    2) Can they both be converted to natural gas?
    3) “For the WH I would use the AC Works” (brand) adapter. Adapt from 3 prong TT-30R to L14-30. I understand that will power both legs, right?
    4) Why would I need the GENMAX with 120/240 volt versus the WH 120 volt only? Don't want to back myself into a corner.
    5) GENMAX run times seem much lower than WH. But, they quote 50% load versus WH 25%. So with a propane 20lb tank, would they be approx the same run time?

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 года назад +2

      It all depends on the power you’re trying to get out of your generator. I know Westinghouse will give you 36 amps on one leg. So your adapter will split those in two You’ll be running 18 amps max each leg.

    • @paulbailey5915
      @paulbailey5915 2 года назад +1

      @@GeneratorReviews Thanks Gavin, any clue on run time for the GENMAX? It's a bigger engine, more power, so assume LESS run time? I'll be using 20 lb propane. The WH 4500 DFC shows an impressive 22 hours at 25%. Not sure if that can be believed? GENMAX only 8 hours, but at 50%. Would that = 16 hours at 25%?

    Hi Gavin, thank you for a great video. I’ve watched many of your gen videos and really like this generator for few reasons vs others.
    My primary use for this generator would be house backup in case we loose power. I live in the Seattle suburbs and usually would never loose power for more than 30 seconds from time to time.. well this year was different, we’ve lost it few times for longer duration and at one point for 4hrs. Having lost a freezer full of meat once
    In my life.. I don’t ever want to be in a
    Similar situation.
    For my needs this generator would be powerful enough to run my food storage as well as central air furnace.
    My only question is do I install a 30amp outlet with a switch or do I install a 50amp outlet? I am not an electrician and will probably have one do the wiring. But just for my own research and knowledge. 30 vs 50?

      Hi Andrey
      Make sure you check how many amps your central ac needs for starting this size are perfect for large window units.
      And you may also want to consider a ten circuit transfer switch for your home.

    I noticed that the neutral is bonded to the frame. Is it difficult to convert this generator to a floating neutral? I wanted to connect this generator to my panel via interlocking switch. What happens if I just keep the neutral bonded to the frame?
    How long can non-ethanol gas be stored safely in this generator without damaging the carb?
    How long can I keep the battery connected without draining it? (I plan on running this generator every month for a few minutes to give it proper exercise)

      It’s not difficult to convert to floating neutral if you want I can make a video showing your how
      The best way to store your generator is running it completely out of gas, and pumping all the gas out of the tank

After about 6 hours on your RUclips channel watching dozens of videos, I think this Genmax GM6000ied is finally the right choice. I wanted quiet, dual fuel, and remote start. I also wanted to use it for back up at home so 240V is a plus. I am going to buy this generator. Your link you included just took me to Amazon and does not look like you get credit for referring me? Is this accurate because I would like you to get the sale credit. I also have a favor to ask. I can not find the adaptor plug you show in the video. I need that orange 30A four pin to the 50A four pin and all i find when I search is the 30A three pin. Can you post a link in your rely where I can get the right adaptor to use with my RV's 50A plug?
