I just want a good enough 5.1 wireless soundbar system to replace my unwieldy AVR/wired 5.1 speaker setup. I suspect I'll be disappointed by music playback, but I find a sleek bar and no wires/receiver to be far more aesthetically appealing.
Unfortunately there is no one’s system that’s going to be sleek and as sound as good as separates. If you have limited living space I tend to think bulky speakers (loss of space / visually intrusiveness) are probably not worth the improvement in sound over a quality soundbar. I do like separates in a dedicated media space though
@@neverenoughtech Questions. When not listening to atmos, just music or 5.1 movies, does the 900 still have sound coming from ALL the speakers, including the up firing speakers?
@@bradhuskers not all music. I was listening to some music from the 50s through Apple Music on my 900 and the upward firing drivers had very little to no sound coming out of them. But everything else has been wonderful.

i got my answer when you said, i wouildnt trade in my 700 for 900. i was thinking for upgrading to 900 just for louder sound and atmos. Thank you. best wishes. upvoted.
I have the Bose subwoofer 500 and the basic surround speakers, do you think it’s good enough for this soundbar? Or I’ll need to get subwoofer 700 and surround 700 for a bigger difference in audio quality?
I have 700, with the bass and satellite speakers, I would say the bass definitely makes the difference, the satellite speakers do add a little more noticeable detail

I like Bose for the bedroom … but if you are really into what the surrounds can do and are somewhat budget concision you might consider Sonos beam 2 and two Sonos one SLs and set the rears to stereo playback
Thanks for your information but I think for Sonos speaker doesn't support Bluetooth I think just work with Sonos app, and for Bose which models you recommend.
Since the ultra is 95% same as the 900, I am thinking to buy 900 with just sub...I have seen ur review of q990c too..I mean I have heard bose is very good in sound..which has the better sound fidelity? q990c is 1000$in India, bose 900 standalone is 800$... I mean I just don't like the looks nd quality of the q990c, feels slightly cheap when compared to 900...I'm super confused
curious about this buzzing at 12:20 when you turned the bass to 100. is that the sound bar bass drivers being overdriven to make the buzz OR is it the sound recorder you used? thanks.
I want to say that could have been an unfortunate vibration with the media center. Don’t think it’s internal. Not hearing it like that in real time now. Apologies for the confusion … thanks for calling it out
I know I'm late. But how did you connect it to a NON Bose Sub? Will a 3.5 to single RCA work for any sub? I have a Martin Logan Grotto and would love to upgrade my YAS 108 with either the Bose 900 or 600. The only thing holding me back is that I don't want to discard my sub. Any help would be appreciated. Gave you a sub and a like! Also how would you compare the 600 to the 900?
Thank you very much for a very nice and extremely informative review. You have a very dry sense of humor. It looks like Bose got rid of the universal remote which came with 700. That’s a shame as I really like the Bose universal remote over my Sony remote
This is on my radar but in terms of comparisons, what would you say is currently the best Atmos performance from a bar without rear speakers, that’s just bar or bar and sub?
Hi! If I may ask, which Equalizer settings did you have on your soundbar? I just got my 900 yesterday and have not established yet a good equalizer settings. Please share, thanks!
Does anyone else's soundbar stop producing sound ar random times? I have to unplug and reset my soundbar once a week. Most of the time I'm watching RUclips on my smart tv, it will go to a commercial and when I skip the commercial the video comes back with no sound. I am using the optical cable that was included with the soundbar.
Are you sure there is no spotify connect on 900? I ca see it is advertised on their site.. Maybe it is just geographically restricted? And a month ago they added also chromecast support..
There is no integration with Spotify in the Bose app. So you can’t browse Spotify content in the app. At least in NA. It does support Spotify connect meaning you can cast Spotify to the bar
I’ve had it with mine. It’s going back. Give us an on screen display for adjusting settings. Why are we forced to use an app. Why do I have to throw it on my wifi? I’m forced to do that. It’s ridiculous. I don’t care about the firmware update. I’m using it as an ARC. It’s as simple as that. It was working for a few days without me doing anything with the app. Then one day, it’s stuck on Bose Music on the screen. Mysteriously as I just typed all that, it began working again. I’m not hearing anything around me as it advertises as I’m watching atmos content. Lol. I’m dying here
Otto be too loud for a college dorm on full volume … would be too loud in any room in my house at full volume … recommend not listening to audio equipment at full volume
I was looking at this to partner my LG OLED B1 as I originally had an SN7CY but Disney Plus refused to play Atmos content and the overall sound was lacklustre.
So then what is the sound bar with "immersive" experience that you'd recommend? I was going to get the Sony ht-a9 but too many ppl complained about the connectivity. And then Bose 900 with sub and back speakers were recommended ...but so we're the Sonos "immersive" with sub and two speakers but then I keep seeing how it's "not ideal for androids" lol idk what to do
Sony or Samsung (q950A) are the most immersive. I suspect the new Sony surrounds would up the immersion property beyond what I experienced in the review.
Another great review thank you! Do you know if other Bose speakers are compatible, such as the sound touch 10? Could the Sound Touch 10 be used instead of the surrounds that you mentioned in this review for cinema?
I have not heard the 800 so I don’t want to give a firm recommendation. I can say Klipsch is buggy had a lot of issues with my 1200 over time … now largely managed with long over due updates. I think the K will sound the best with the included sub but don’t yell at me if it acts up
I mentioned in the video that its probably not worth the upgrade … unless you are really unhappy with the 700. I think it’s worth getting if you’re looking for a new soundbar
Honestly mate, I had the 700 for about 5 months and then upgraded to the 900 on release - unless you really need Atmos (which isn’t very obvious on the 900) I really wouldn’t bother, the more worthwhile upgrade is if you only have the 300 surround speakers, the 700 surrounds are better - I can only hope that Bose are working on upward firing surrounds to compliment the Atmos from the sound bar because I honestly don’t even notice it from the bar - I’m actually more excited about the Sony HT-A9 although it’s almost impossible to get in the U.K. at the present time
alot of salesman in my city prefered the Arc over 900. i dont know why but i agree with them Arc sounds more "cinematic". is there something in the settings or perhaps in the showroom.
Good review thanks. Listened to it at my friend’s. All i can say is too little too late. I mean we have better atmos bars from pretty much every competitor since 3 years so not sure they i agree with your conclusion.
@neverenoughtech Question. When listening to non atmos content, music and movies, does the 900 still utilize ALL the speakers, including the up firing speakers?
I really like your honesty and straight forwardness in these reviews. Do you think Ill need a Base Module? If so, do you think theres a difference between the Base Module from Bose 500 or 700? This will be in a open style living room together with a kitchen. But we will be definitely sitting at within 9-10 feet to watch TV. Thanks again!
I am having a hard time choosing between this or the Sony HT-A9. The Sony is super expensive but the reviews say the Atmos and Surround experience is amazing.
@@DELTABOY04 You're not the first to say that. Is it a case of it is too quiet to make a difference? I was told that if you run the calibration again but cover the rear speakers with a thick cloth it tricks it into sending power to the surrounds. I like the look of the Sony but it's like £2699 all in whilst I can get the complete Bose setup for about £1050 because my friend works there 😅
@@Quoii i havent done that but i also heard muffling the speakers makes it loder after calibration ..i just wish they had some up firing surrounds ..the soundbar and the 700 module sounds amazing dont get me wrong
Hi, I tried both 700 and 900. I had 700 for 3 years and it seems that the sound was more "solid" "full" and less crispy/high than the 900 especially with music. Does 700 model sounds better for music than 900? I thought to upgrade it with 900 but the sound seems less "full". Thanks
Hi Angela, what’s the comparison like on bass sound. I have the 700 and pretty happy though wondered if the 900 had a deeper bass. Did you try changing the settings via the app for the 900?
@@rsingh2631 Yes I tried enhancing the bass and lower treble but still find Bose 700 with a more "compact and full" sound ratehr 900 that has more wide and treble sound. I decided to stick with 700.
@@rsingh2631 sound experience is naturally subjective, but I felt like the 900 had way more bass when I heard it in store. It was actually pretty comparable when I listened to both at home even after turning the bass to 100. Yes, there was more bass with the 900 (not a ton more, but more), but the sound bar was super temperamental and wouldn’t stay connected to my wifi, so I opted to stay with the 700 because I actually preferred its sound (outside of the slightly less bass experience) and ease of use. Maybe I just had a glitchy one, but to me slightly better bass sound wasn’t worth dealing with the issues, slightly less enjoyable overall sound, or going through an exchange process. I imagine if folks care about atmos then the 900 is the clear choice, but I mainly want it for casual music listening and just occasional show watching. 🤷🏻♀️
@angelar8160 Are you serious? First, you didn't try the 900 with the bose bass module. If you did, you'd understand that the 900 paired with the bass module, DESTROYS the 700.
@ceetteet First. You need to listen to the 900 paired with the bose bass module. It's A GAME CHANGER! You only listened to the soundbar alone. So everything you said was complete bullshit.
Thank you for new review, I watch all of them and thanks to your descriptions and other good guys who make same job. I bought Samsung Q950A first, but I was not completely happy with it. And I changed it for the Sony A7000 full set that enjoy me now. How is this Bose 900 compare to Sony? thanks in advance
I have listened to bose 900. It's headache. I did my best to get the best out of it but I did not achieve to my satisfaction. The Samsung q950a seems to deliver the desired sound for both movies and music. Sound fill the room and a high level of noise cancellation is observed.
@@bradhuskers q990b costs btn $1300-$1700. Q950A costs btn $900-$1200. Both models are 11.1.4 channel systems and each comes with the soundbar, subwoofer, and two rear speakers. Adaptive sound mode is the best. Be sure to select on your tv Passthrough or DDP especially for movies. PCM is good for lossy music and movies
I have this soundbar and the slim surrounds. The app lets you add more volume to the rears and you can add the bass module if you have the money. For my living room it cleared out an old big box setup. It looks modern and the wife factor is 100 percent acceptable. She hated the old setup now we found a compromise that we both enjoy. If you have the money buy it its worth it. The height speakers work with my mantel mout that sits high up but below the tv. I am willing to bet they will release a new better soundbar one day but its gonna be hard to beat this one.
I think you made the prudent decision the diet cans are pretty good considering the size. I think my core audience is interested in the beefiest system … Bose is not that but doesn’t mean there isn’t good places for it
@NeverEnoughTech I understand I replaced a full home theater with separtes a huge Adcom monster 5 channel amplifier with the original Polk Audio lsi line up. They are sitting until we move and can play them. The wife loves the fact that the speakers are not in the way and she can have her living room back. I like them and your audience will too. It is not like the separates at all but then there is always something better and more expensive out there. It's just an option if you are down sizing or want to have the dobly atmos in a soundbar.
hey, I bought a Bose Smart Soundbar 900 2 days ago and I am very satisfied with the soundbar. There's just one thing that bothers me a bit. If I'm watching a video that has loud music playing (whether it's a movie, series, or video game) and someone starts talking while the music is playing, the background music will automatically turn down and when there's a pause in speaking, it will resume volume up. I'm assuming this is automatic to better understand what is being said? My TV is the LG OLED65C17LB, I didn't have this problem with my previous soundbar, the LG GX Soundbar, so I don't assume it's a TV setting. The soundbar is connected to the TV via the eARC port and otherwise works perfectly, I have also tried all the settings in the app without success. Personally, I find this very annoying and I therefore ask myself, is this normal? Or is there a setting for that? I'm very grateful for any information or advice!
Question. When listening to non atmos material, like music and regular movies, does the bose 900 utilize ALL the speakers, including the up firing speakers?
From my experience it does what it’s supposed to do. It has an annoying overlay. Perhaps a power cycle is necessary from time to time. I’ve dealt with nightmares … my experience with the Arcana has not reached that level. I have no affiliation with Arcana or Bose
@neverenoughtech yeah, I think it's a great product for those who don't have an eARC set or the budget to upgrade to one. I just know I personally had a lot of initial issues with setup and it needs super high performance hdmi cables. I'm more tech savvy than a lot of people I know and it took me some time to get to grips with it

Bose soundbar with bass module? I am a big bass lover. So, need suggestion. Sony AT9 vs Ambeo vs Bose 900 with bass module 700
Can you please suggest?
Great review subd. I'm a ambeo user wanted to purcahse another bar bose 900 in my list in terms of wide soundstage does it sound better than ambeo? Thanks
I like Bose sound a bit more but Ambeo is the more capable bar
I cant seem to find any vids comparing the Bose 900 with 700 sub vs. the Samsumg Q990b. Which one in your opinion is the best?
Samsung
You remind me of the actor Adam Driver, same voice and mannerisms.
Yes you are responding too the bubbly persona and the extremely regular voice - I actually get that comparison quite a bit … I prefer it over napoleon dynamite
Thanks for the video, recently got the 600 instead of the 900 and now the ultra comes out, i only passed on the 900 because the reflection of the glass top was a deal breaker to me. Was wondering is it normal when using airplay the arc goes to tv speaker with these bose soundbars?
I just want a good enough 5.1 wireless soundbar system to replace my unwieldy AVR/wired 5.1 speaker setup. I suspect I'll be disappointed by music playback, but I find a sleek bar and no wires/receiver to be far more aesthetically appealing.
Unfortunately there is no one’s system that’s going to be sleek and as sound as good as separates. If you have limited living space I tend to think bulky speakers (loss of space / visually intrusiveness) are probably not worth the improvement in sound over a quality soundbar. I do like separates in a dedicated media space though

Questions.
Amazing review.
I was thinking to buy Bose soundbar 700 or 900 and connect with my Polk subwoofer via bass port. Will it work?
as long as the subwoofer is powered and has a wired input option
I don’t know why so many people are concerned with how music sounds on these. They are for movies not music. For music get some good tower speakers
Most soundbar shoppers don’t want tower speakers (or are moving away from them) … they want the soundbar to do everything
@@neverenoughtech I suppose it would be nice to have one speaker do everything. I’m just upgrading from the 300 and music sounds bad on the thing so it was just something I never thought of using for music. I appreciate your review though I think I’m going with the 900 because of it.
i got my answer when you said, i wouildnt trade in my 700 for 900.
i was thinking for upgrading to 900 just for louder sound and atmos.
Thank you. best wishes. upvoted.
Coming soon the Bose Soundbar 1200. It's primary feature is that it costs twelve hundred dollars.
When?
Samsung hw q950a vs Bose 900 with 700 base and 700 rears ?
I have the Bose subwoofer 500 and the basic surround speakers, do you think it’s good enough for this soundbar? Or I’ll need to get subwoofer 700 and surround 700 for a bigger difference in audio quality?
I have 700, with the bass and satellite speakers, I would say the bass definitely makes the difference, the satellite speakers do add a little more noticeable detail
Still the best looking soundbar
Great channel, great review!
Hello. Is LG SP11RA for 900 USD a good deal? Worth it?
I have the SoundTouch 300. If your familiar with it, is it worth getting the 900? I’m most in need of dialogue upgrade. Enjoyed the video, thanks
No familiar but I’d endorse at least trying out the 900 (assuming you can return if it’s not your speed)
My soundtouch 300 still kicks ass!
Stick with the 300. I also have 300 full set up and tested the 900 at the Bose showroom. 300 still rocks. I would wait for the next release after 900.
@@ansarbeeran7985 How did that dolby atmos sound on it?
@@ansarbeeran7985 I also used to have the Soundtouch 300 with the Bass Module 700 and surround speakers 700. Then, I recently upgraded to the soundbar 900. I loved the sound of the music on the Soundtouch 300 better than the Soundbar 900. But, if you are listening to Dolby Atmos music or watching Movies with Dolby Atmos sound, then go for the Soundbar 900.
I bought the 900, then the sub & later the rears. I love it but it isn't CHEAP!
Yeah, all the optional modules are pretty expensive with Bose but it’s a quality offering
Hi I have question I will be appropriate if you could help me.
I'm looking for soundbar for my bedroom for listening to music
I want to super sound clear And
surround sound.
So what is your recommendation for me
I like Bose for the bedroom … but if you are really into what the surrounds can do and are somewhat budget concision you might consider Sonos beam 2 and two Sonos one SLs and set the rears to stereo playback
Thanks for your information but I think for Sonos speaker doesn't support Bluetooth I think just work with Sonos app, and for Bose which models you recommend.
How much watt do you think has the Bose 900?
Since the ultra is 95% same as the 900, I am thinking to buy 900 with just sub...I have seen ur review of q990c too..I mean I have heard bose is very good in sound..which has the better sound fidelity? q990c is 1000$in India, bose 900 standalone is 800$... I mean I just don't like the looks nd quality of the q990c, feels slightly cheap when compared to 900...I'm super confused
For a smallish room bose 900 only OR BOSE 600+ BOSE 500 SUBWOOFER? Cost total is almost same?
Honestly, for the prices and sound quality, I'd go with the bose 900 but. If you're trying to be on a budget, then the 600 is perfect
When it comes to playing music, the sound quality is not upto the mark but for cinema it's really good
Hi... Could I connect my Yamaha sub woofer to new Bose 900
If it’s powered
Yamaha sub was not recognised by bose 900
curious about this buzzing at 12:20 when you turned the bass to 100. is that the sound bar bass drivers being overdriven to make the buzz OR is it the sound recorder you used?
Worked on a Klipsch sub
On the 700 soundbar do you have any recommendations on the best settings for Music movies and gaming?
Thank you very much for a very nice and extremely informative review. You have a very dry sense of humor.
It looks like Bose got rid of the universal remote which came with 700. That’s a shame as I really like the Bose universal remote over my Sony remote
Just watching this trailer while waiting for the SARC vs B900 video.
This is on my radar but in terms of comparisons, what would you say is currently the best Atmos performance from a bar without rear speakers, that’s just bar or bar and sub?
Samsung q990b/c
How is it compare to sony hta 9 sound speakers?
I’d love to know. Haven’t heard them yet
Hi! If I may ask, which Equalizer settings did you have on your soundbar? I just got my 900 yesterday and have not established yet a good equalizer settings. Please share, thanks!
I think I just boosted the bass a few DBs. Best really depends on listeners ear and room
@@neverenoughtech thanks for your response. Yeah I am trying to figure out which is best.
Hello! Can I connect a JBL Sub-Woofer with RCA cables to this soundbar? Thanks
yes, I connected a Klipsch powered sub. Sounded decent. Make sure it’s 3.5mm to RCA as Bose does not have RCA outputs.
@@neverenoughtech thank you very much, appreciate your help
You are able to connect any subwoofer to this sound bar?
Yes - Bose sells a wireless option and there is a physical port that you can use to connect a sub
@@neverenoughtech which subwoofer would you recommend for someone who doesn’t want to spend that amount of $ for the Bose subwoofer?
The phase drivers share the same design as Samsung acoustic beam. A dome tweeter that's though a guide with many holes
It does support Spotify connect meaning you can cast Spotify to the bar
complimenti. Questa soundbar integra l’assistente vocale Alexa? Se si, integra anche in Zigbee come Echo di Amazon?
Is any subwoofer compatible with the 900 such and svs or klipsch
Any powered sub with a line-in of some sort should work. I used my Klipsch R100SW - sounded decent.
Lol. I’m dying here
Will this shake my college dorm on full volume?

Is there away to calibrate sounded bars
Most come with their own calibration feature
is the Sonos Arc better than this or nah?
I’ve wavered but yes I think so and most definitely if you’re going full system
Please do a review of the Devialet Dione.
Another great review thank you! Do you know if other Bose speakers are compatible, such as the sound touch 10? Could the Sound Touch 10 be used instead of the surrounds that you mentioned in this review for cinema?
No the best you can do is multiroom with other WiFi speakers
@@neverenoughtech thanks! I ended up going full Sonos…It’s epic! That sub is incredible…
Hello, May I ask if I have to choose Bose 900 or Klipsch cinema 800, Which one should I choose ?
I have not heard the 800 so I don’t want to give a firm recommendation. I can say Klipsch is buggy had a lot of issues with my 1200 over time … now largely managed with long over due updates. I think the K will sound the best with the included sub but don’t yell at me if it acts up
What are your thoughts about upgrading the Soundbar 700 to 900, is it worth it?
I already have the bass module and rear speakers.
I mentioned in the video that its probably not worth the upgrade … unless you are really unhappy with the 700. I think it’s worth getting if you’re looking for a new soundbar
Honestly mate, I had the 700 for about 5 months and then upgraded to the 900 on release - unless you really need Atmos (which isn’t very obvious on the 900) I really wouldn’t bother, the more worthwhile upgrade is if you only have the 300 surround speakers, the 700 surrounds are better - I can only hope that Bose are working on upward firing surrounds to compliment the Atmos from the sound bar because I honestly don’t even notice it from the bar - I’m actually more excited about the Sony HT-A9 although it’s almost impossible to get in the U.K. at the present time
@@paulefc1971 thanks I was really considering getting it too, but now even less after seeing the spotify feature taken off 😒
Please review the Edifier s3000pro or s2000mkiii
alot of salesman in my city prefered the Arc over 900. i dont know why but i agree with them Arc sounds more "cinematic". is there something in the settings or perhaps in the showroom.
I think the Arc may have a bigger sound … for music I tend to prefer Bose. Cinema … just bar … somewhat indifferent. Full setup Sonos.
Same thing with Samsung Q950a. It gives you better cinema experience and bubble-like sound. Bose sound is hard. It kinda hurts the ears
Arc sounds maybe more stronger pitch but bose sounds more smoother to my ears. It's what you prefer
Good review thanks. Listened to it at my friend’s. All i can say is too little too late. I mean we have better atmos bars from pretty much every competitor since 3 years so not sure they i agree with your conclusion.
Saying it’s behind all the other flagships is not a ringing Atmos endorsement. Appreciate the comment
With all the accessories which is better for music the bose 900 or the sonos arc?

daniel can you preorder and review the new sound bar dione from devialet , the crazy base speaker company. (it may come before you get your HT A9)
I really like your honesty and straight forwardness in these reviews. Do you think Ill need a Base Module? If so, do you think theres a difference between the Base Module from Bose 500 or 700? This will be in a open style living room together with a kitchen. But we will be definitely sitting at within 9-10 feet to watch TV. Thanks again!
If you truly very powerful immersive bass that's very powerful then get the 700
I am having a hard time choosing between this or the Sony HT-A9. The Sony is super expensive but the reviews say the Atmos and Surround experience is amazing.
the sony sounds better ...the surround sound on the 900 is hampered because the rear speakers are terrible ..i have the 900
@@DELTABOY04 You're not the first to say that.

Sony has more 3d Audio experience But Sounds crap. Bose is better if you want a better Sound But less effects

First, you didn't try the 900 with the bose bass module.
If you did, you'd understand that the 900 paired with the bass module, DESTROYS the 700.

To me, sony sounds horrible.
I have listened to bose 900. It's headache. I did my best to get the best out of it but I did not achieve to my satisfaction. The Samsung q950a seems to deliver the desired sound for both movies and music. Sound fill the room and a high level of noise cancellation is observed.

I need your favor buying and transporting Bose 700 surround speaker to me.
It's just an option if you are down sizing or want to have the dobly atmos in a soundbar.
hey,
I bought a Bose Smart Soundbar 900 2 days ago and I am very satisfied with the soundbar.
Did you try a more neutral EQ setting and deactivate voice boost options in the app if there are any options?

From my experience it does what it’s supposed to do. It has an annoying overlay. Perhaps a power cycle is necessary from time to time. I’ve dealt with nightmares … my experience with the Arcana has not reached that level. I have no affiliation with Arcana or Bose
@neverenoughtech yeah, I think it's a great product for those who don't have an eARC set or the budget to upgrade to one.
