Wow Bryan! I enjoyed your video. The selection of orchids was amazing 🤩. I think Phals are what get you started into this passion so there’s always a love for phals!
Thank you, Melissa! It was a stunning nursery! And you’re absolutely right! And I still find myself enamored with the species phals available out there!
Lovely phalaenopsis blooms, thanks for sharing! I love that cranberry and yellow one, very similar to the famous zhen min anaconda, I would have bought that one. Have a great and happy new year 😊
Hi Bryan! I just found your channel and am glad I did. I live in an apartment in Rochester NY and only have room for a few mini-phals. .. 9 at this time all purchased from Trader Joe's. All in 3" and 4 " pots. They bloom their little heads off. They are healthy and happy. I saw 3 of the varieties in this video. I have a deep burgundy with 20 blossoms that is breathtaking. I didn't see any like this in the amazing Taida collection. She's a treasure.
Hi Karyl! Thank you for stopping by and finding me! I hope you subscribe, I will have many more awesome tours on the horizon! I love finds like that! You never know what kind of plants you may find out there! Even at Trader Joe’s or other similar stores!
What is your routine for introducing new orchids to your collection and how long do you wait before repotting? I found that I cannot use just sphagnum moss here in CT because even during summer, it caused tatnsplant shock or immediate root rot. I can mix small pieces with bark, but that's about it. I think my new favorite is coconut husk since it seems safer than sphagnum moss and maybe less acidic. Nurseries like that always have fans running so I'm been trying to do that with mini USB fans especially after watering. I saved the location of I'm ever in that area and I can do a side trip.
Hello! Great question! Whenever I introduce orchids to my collection, I try to repot if it is not in bloom and spray with Safer, copper fungicide (unless it’s a dendrobium) and Physan 20 as precaution. I also make sure no plant is touching eachother on my shelf’s to avoid pests.
@@OrchidsByBryan Have you ever had an orchid that had fasarium? It's kind of hard to tell sometimes except for the lack of growth or by splitting the main part of a phal or dividing a cattleya rhizome.
They are so beautiful plants I show like have one
If you visit Taida Orchid’s website, you can do some shopping! :)

Beautiful orchids
They sure are stunning, aren't they? :)
The dendrobiums that look like bamboo, are nobile types. They will be a spectacular show when in flower!
Wonderful! I’m hoping to stop by the nursery again soon and highlight those beauties!
