- This is probably my most useful DIY yet! A car trash can that automatically closes and keeps all the trash in. Super kid friendly and easy to sew! 💖 Fabric Needed:
~ Main piece, cut 1(cut 1 of interfacing if using): 28" x 13" (the easiest way would be to cut 14" X 13" on the fold)
~ Casing, cut 2 (cut 2 of interfacing if using): 4" x 13"
~ Straps, cut 2 (no interfacing needed): 4" x 12"
~ Tab, cut 1 (no interfacing needed): 6" x 6"
💖 Tape Measure:
~ cut 2, 12" pieces of 3/4" metal tape measure: amzn.to/3D67VEm
💖 Velcro:

You are right, this is a great trash bag. I made one with PUL waterproof fabric and a couple of minor changes. It turned out great. Thank you so much for your creativity and sharing of your idea!

Thanks so much!!! So happy you made one! Yeah after I made this video I tried the vinyl and it was such an improvement that I had to made a version 2.0 video. I also found that interfacing the part with the tape measure helps make it last longer too. ❤️

I like using plastic or metal kam snaps instead of velcro. Just another option.

Great idea… I was looking for this… However, I ended up skipping through the video quickly because the background music was so annoying… sorry, just my opinion… 29 minutes of it on and on… your voice is so sweet and soft but I could barely hear it … please continue to make videos… maybe without the background music? Thank you.
Thanks so much for the input! I'll keep that in mind for future videos! Hope you were able to make the trash can. If you have time please check out the new version I posted recently. Pretty much the same process but I added a vinyl liner which I've found to be very helpful when using it day to day. Also I sewed a pink version. Sometimes it's just easier to see when the example is a lighter color.
