    Liz your friend rice looks amazing and all of the other dishes. It's good to have neighbors that you can bond with and share community together. The kids do need friends in the area. Happy for all of you!

    My sister and I were just talking about this and why Christians probably shouldn't celebrate. Yet, we'll be the first to admit we don't understand all the foundation behind the celebration. I just started watching the video so I'm curious to hear your perspective.

    • @jcsgrl359

      It looks like you're basically celebrating some of the culture with your Singaporean/Chinese friends. I'll have to Google a little of the history behind it. TFS fam.

      At the heart of this festive amalgamation lies the undeniable influence of Chinese culture in the Philippines. Historical ties dating back centuries have woven the threads of tradition into the fabric of Filipino society. The influx of
      Chinese immigrants over the years has not only shaped the demographics but has also left an indelible mark on the country’s customs and celebrations.
      Some Filipinos Has Chinese Ancestry, also the oldest china town in the world is in the Philippines. I hope this answer your question

    30% of Filipino has chinese origin so it's not suprising why Chinese New Year is a National Holiday here. The oldest Chinatown in the world is in Manila either.

  • @StarryGreen33
    @StarryGreen33 7 месяцев назад +2

    It was just made a holiday this year which is a weak treasonous move by Philippine president considering China's increasing hostile aggression towards the Philippines in action, policy, tone from the goverrnment and people in general.

      Wrong it wasn't just this year. For your info, Chinese New Year has been celebrated by Filipinos hundred years ago it just that the last 6 years ago it made a National Holiday.
      Why? Do you think that all Filipinos have Malay heritage? Wrong it's the majority 60% plus percent of the population then the other 40% have Chinese, Spanish and other Asian and European ancestry. Research first.

    • @StarryGreen33
      @StarryGreen33 7 месяцев назад

      Learn to read. Anyone can celebrate but it this year that Chinese or Lunar New Year became a federal holiday. There are other ethnic mixtures to primary Philippine heritage without a corresponding federal holiday so it's weak reasoning. @@chaopanofasia8490

    • @StarryGreen33
      @StarryGreen33 7 месяцев назад

      My point, which you misundertood is that the celebration became a national federal ofifcial Philippine holiday,which there isn't one for other ethnic mixes. @@chaopanofasia8490

      @@chaopanofasia8490 Philippine pres. made it federal holiday this year, no offficial holidays for Spain or other cultures, understand? 3rd time restating deleted comment among others also censored
