Damn, I hate to admit that he's right. Now, how am I going to trick my brain into believing that I'm not a nihilist. It's difficult to give up Truth for happiness because I value Integrity too much but maybe it's worth the trade. I think the last scene in the movie 'Momento' illustrates that point better than I could.
Because he mainly does stand up he would get away with that shirt as it would fit him fine however sitting down he doesn't get to strut about and keep it in form, but can see what you mean tho
I've had boyfriends who were always looking on the black side of life once I had started dating them but would put on a happy face for the public. At first I blamed myself because I thought I was bringing them down but what they were revealing their real selves once they think they have a woman. A friend told me that they just like frightening women because they get a kick out of it.
lemsip yeah happened to me too. It’s so strange, because it’s like they’re trained from birth to specifically be that way by other miserable men, that when those teachings don’t stick people find it odd and other men reject them and their masculinity.
They see a father alone with a young child in the park on a Sunday and assume that he's divorced with weekend access and living alone in a bedsit. There could be other reasons why he's not with his wife. She could be working shifts and at work or she could be busy at home. Or he could be divorced but living with his new girlfriend.
My problem here is that if you do live longer you get it at the end of your life when not shitting yoru pants is considered an achivement for the day. Whilst logically his point makes sense it doesn't work for me when you look at how the extra years are executed. It's also quintessentially british to moan and be miserbale, why strip that away? It's all we got left especially now we left the EU!
As a 64 year old Guy who has been single all his life and been out with hundreds of different women since I was 18 allow me to balance this. When I was young I was considered the quick-witted and quick-talking Cockney Charmer who was born over a South London market but did well, academically, at Grammar School and University. Consequently I was popular with "pretty" looks rather than being ruggedly handsome and pretty looks fade so now, like yesterday, when I saw 4 different beautiful, young Women it is eminently FRUSTRATING that Society would view me negatively if I approached them as I would have done by " chirpsing" them up to around 2001. Yet I am STILL very much the same person and fit and not " weary" at all. Other problems when one is older include losing nearly all Family and some close friends one-by-one and realising it will soon be YOUR turn for eternal emptiness and nothing ness (if one is a NON-Believer). When you are young there is no reason for those thoughts to enter your mind. You get a dog and wonder who will go first. You see a major project and realise you will nt be around when it is complete. You return to your area where you were brought up and The Youth Clubs and Multi-faceted Public amenities are a Buddhist Temple and Nigerian Church. Your local pub is now The Camberwell Islamic Centre. The Bingo Hall is now for a religious group. You feel a stranger in an area that WAS 99% White/British. A friend's Grandson is the ONLY kid in his year at Primary School with English as first language. Many older people suffer through ill-health or injuries sustained during 70 years+ and feel pain on a daily basis. There are multi-farius other points but when you sit and reflect and see The Cemetary Gates come into view and realise the games is up it is no wonder many are grumpy... Anyway I'm out with my 40 year old Girlfriend after lying in the 30 Degree sun all afternoon so all is not so bad after all :)
I'd watch James Acaster or David Ayoade ANY and EVERY day of the week over him. If he was never famous or had any money, maybe he'd be one of the "grumpy" men he's talking about. Come back in 20 years to this post when he has no money, and let's chat about it. Okay, folks! I'll make tea! Sip, sip! How YOU doin?
Watch this guys stand up: he's fast and funny. I saw him live in Brisbane. What a treat.
he totally sold this to me, I TOTALLY AGREE!!

Well said Russoow.
Has the Norman wisdom about him.
yes ★★
Isn't this due to social concepts of masculinity?
Yes, which have been upheld by men
Bumblybee256 partially
Bumblybee256 And women
I like being grumpy, I like not pretending everything is OK and being oblivious to things. However ignorance is bliss and I see his point
Men who dont get grumpier with age die a week after retirement!
He needs to find a shirt that fits properly 😊
lol lol lol lol lol hysterical..

You're right, when I say to people that it's British to moan they say "no it's just you" it's so annoying.
