Hi Beth awesome prepping for the Fall garden! Dont you just LOVE this awesome cooler weather??? Great work day for you and very productive! I agree about the peas… mine had 2 seasons as well. Im about 40 minutes away from you! 🧡❤️💜💙💚
Good videos. I garden in Elk Grove so am close to you!! I do use pelleted seeds. Have them for carrots and also for beets. What a help. You are very informative and I enjoyed the video. When you have things composting, do you get flies and larvae? Was getting the soldier fly larvae and just could not stand that. I had a tumbling composter and also so much rain, when we get it, made mine so wet and soggy. I gave up. How does your system work for you? I noticed you did not have marigolds in your garden. I planted lots of them. The smell repels a lot of pests. Relatively no problem with aphids, no tomato horn worms either. I also looked up companion flowers to plant with things. I have lemon thyme, believe that was with potatoes. Now it is shading my celery. Did you know you can stick the stump/core of the celery directly into the soil? Basil with the prettiest purple flowers planted with bell peppers. The list goes on. The plants are directly in the beds and the bees love the flowering basil. If you can, why not show how you store and if you can your crops. I generally grow just what we can eat, husband and self, slice and freeze peppers and tomatoes. Look forward to next video.
Thanks for the comment! Your garden sounds delightful! We planted some marigolds this year but most died (lol), so going to try some from seeds this next year. We found that open bin composting was easier for us to manage any pests. We occasionally get flies, but that's usually a sign that you need to add more browns. We have some videos from last year on storing some of our harvests, but just didn't have the time to film it all this year! Hopefully we can do more soon. Thanks for watching and happy growing!
It boggles my mind that you don't have more subs, more views, more comments. I realize that "more" might not be your goal. I also realize that sometimes it's just a chance encounter that can make a channel "take off". To that end, I'd like to tell you that CaliKim29 is doing a series called Show the World Your Garden. Even though she's traveling and showing gardens from a lot of places, I know she has shown some gardens very near to her own home town. She's in Southern California. Pretty sure it's San Diego. If her series is something you'd like to be featured in, why not contact her! Let her know you'd be interested in taking part, who you are, where you are, etc. Don't be shy! Give it a whirl!
Love the recommendation for a soil test kit! Didn't know they were so accessible and easy to use. Thank you!
Yes they are super easy to use! We love our pH test too
"Life Grows Here" Yes it does, my young friends, yes it does! 💖🤗
