Hello, and welcome to the many new faces that found this video. Considering the video got over two thousand views in less than 24h, I think it’s safe to say a lot of people were interested in the analysis 🙈 Thanks for your support! That being said, there is a difference between giving constructive feedback and a thought out opinion, and just being straight up rude. There’s no need to be mean to me, or to the developers 😊 Especially not by DMing me and being vulgar or threatening, that doesn’t help anyone. I also want to clarify - I make these videos for fun. Because I absolutely love analyzing, and studying horses (in game or not). I thoroughly enjoy figuring out why something looks or feels the way it does, and I of course understand that a lot of it is a subjective opinion that I don’t expect everyone else to share with me. I’m also not expecting a 1:1 perfect horse in game, as I of course understand that there are limitations, but I always try to give feedback in the direction of what I would consider “perfect”, if that makes sense. It’s all done in good fun, and I would never say something I wouldn’t confidently say to any of the animators or developers of these horses! It’s all love here ♥️ Peace and tranquility and all that - I promise it’s not that serious, my friends ✌️🙈
I don't usually watch many SSO videos, but I was curious about this one since I personally like the coats but not the animations. Even from the early spoilers I could already tell it would be a little.. stiff? Definitely sad that they didn't work on it a little more, but the horse itself is still beautiful. That beside, this is a great video and was super educational for me :D
I wish they covered a bit more ground in the walk. The steps are all very short, but not the way it would loook like in a collected walk, rather it just looks stiff and... off. Similar thing with the trot, though I think it's not as bad as the walk. The canter is mostly fine, and then the gallops looks very strange again, especially from behind. I think my SF will take me some getting used to. Other than that I think they did a great job on the model itself as well as the coat colors, those are all lovely.
Personally I actually love them a lot! I got the steel grey and I love him a lot he actually might be one of my favourite horses in game. Their animations are a bit funky at times but they did grow on me and all the cost colours are just incredible. I also looked into what selle français look like in real life and Sso did a fantastic job on getting their gaits and movement because they look a lot like how they do in real life! I will be using these horses for a lot of jumper/hunter shows and rps. I loved hearing your and others opinions in them tho it’s interesting on how others see them I get these horses really aren’t for everyone but I personally am extremely happy with this update and I will be getting all the coats when I can :D
I absolutely HAAAATE how they are doing the animated jumps . They FLOAT they don't.. JUMP. it's as you said VERY stiff. D: I loved the gen three fresian jumps..
what are the chances they referenced a horse with back pain. because their previous work isn't bad in the whole hind leg thing, and it wouldn't be a first that they reference either a stressed or pained horse
Sure, but when you Market your whole Game on Horses, and the Community knows that you can actually develop great Animations, that doesn't really apply. SSO is extremely inconsistent with the quality they put out.
I love this deeper analysis of Star Stable's horses! You should totally do this with all generation 3 horses. Loved how you explained in details how unatural the animation looks, and I totally agree. When I first bought the Selle Francais it looked so awkward to me. I'd really like if you could review the Icelandic horse, I think the head at the fast gallop looks so weird!
I was giving my opinion on it when I was going to buy one but decided against it because I don’t like the animations and people in global tore me apart saying that I was criticising them and complaining.. people are so quick to anger? 😅😂 I explained that just because I didn’t like them doesn’t mean it’s terrible and they said “yeah but your all always complaining” I understand that but we’ve been waiting on these since before Christmas, I don’t understand why the animations are still stiff, the horse looks lame, but ig, it’s a horse game and after all, it’s up to the creators and sometimes it won’t be up to some people’s standards.
It’s disappointing tbh. They did a fantastic job on the gen 3 mustang and DWB, they’ve been hitting it out of the park with horses recently (even with the Ardennes) so it’s jarring to see such stiff and lame gaits. The selle doesn’t even move its front shoulders when it’s in its fast gallop or when it rears. The back legs lag behind like it’s lame in most gaits. It’s sooo stiff looking but it’s a shame because just standing there they’re absolutely gorgeous. If this is how they treat the Selle I’m worried about how they’re gonna handle the Saddlebred lol
Ican just agree with you. The Model and the coats are fantastic! I love love love the chestnut with his lighter mane! But the gaits aren´t looking healthy..It gives me the vibes of an youngstar too, especially the model with the athletic thin build, like a 4 year old with no big muscles haha
I personally adore the Selles! I can't point out why, but they just seem so nice to me! The horse I got was the coat you weren't sure what to call! I definitely want another! It's called a dappled sooty buckskin tobaino! (Whoo, that's a mouthful)
I do love them. The coats are beautiful and they look nice but I can't get over the gallop animations. I feel like my horse is running on jelly, it's so wobbly. Thank you for this review though! x
Well they done so well with some of the updated horses, but very few would not be the best. Since different teams make different horses not every horse will be 100% perfect, but good enough if there is one problem or two. Sometimes they fix animations after the release. I mostly watch a lot of review videos to make up my mind if I want this horse or not.
i got one as i liked the steele gray, the awkward animations really make it look like a green eventer which is my reasoning behind it lol. it could defo use some work and i hope they patch these flexion issues but for a green/ youngster being taught how to event and lacking muscle it looks fineee
Fun fact : the position of the rider when you do the levade is totally normal, look it up, just type cadre noir or cadre noir levade and you'll see this is a position riders take with the rounder back and the legs up when doing the levade I agree with most of your criticism with the animations, however it doesn't bother me because to me, in my head they are youngsters that are still learning as for the frame of the horse, being french I can confidently say this type of long legged thin horse is the type of horse I've riden my whole life and I'm very happy with the model Maybe I am not the most objective because the selle francais is my favorite "breed" irl but I love them all and am planning on getting them all at some point!
but sso wants to be realisitc. At least thats what it feels like, when they look up rl horses to make their own in game horses better (they did this with the lippizzaners) and they also try to make the special animations (piaffe, lavade, ...) as realisitc as possible, so why not the gaits too?

its back legs are how i walk when i've hurt a leg muscle and cant extend it well
and why is their jump so floaty. it doesnt look like theyre actually lifting off. theyre just in the air all of a sudden

This would make sense because to me the hind legs just reminds me of a horse that is 'lame'.
To be fair equines are one of the hardest to draw let alone animate

Paint is a breed not a color. Paints can be solid color. Pinto is a color and can be any breed but they are never solid color
Sso is just as wobbly with the quality of horses they put out as that horse's ass
The back leg animations are low quality compared to what they have done before. Its sad sso is backtracking
I definitely agree, but equines are one of the hardest thing to animate.

i just discovered your channel and WOW THE INTRO?? 😍😍
Honestly, you explain to me so weel why i thought/think their movement looks off. For the rest they're cute! But they indeed look very awkward
This is such a great deep dive into the movement! Could tell it was off but it's nice understanding why

tbh these are my fave horses so far, I like them better than the dwb's
Well they done so well with some of the updated horses, but very few would not be the best.

chill It’s a game💀
I'm really glad I watched this video before buying the horse. It's visually really pretty. But with animations that BAD! It's not worth it to buy.
i got one as i liked the steele gray, the awkward animations really make it look like a green eventer which is my reasoning behind it lol. it could defo use some work and i hope they patch these flexion issues but for a green/ youngster being taught how to event and lacking muscle it looks fineee
The first Selle you looked at was a Sooty Buckskin Pinto
I adore these horses. 100% worth it.

do you have a horse you think is best, or most realistic animated?
I got mine to level 15 to see if it got better NOpe , and it very slow, on my sever thet are getting called the slow selles.
I wish you pulled up pics of real horses to show how its supposed to be
off topic but your intro is fire ❤🔥
I like them I think they are cute.
While i think you're being WAAAY too picky about a video game, I think your analysis of the anatomy vs Real horses was very interesting.
but sso wants to be realisitc. At least thats what it feels like, when they look up rl horses to make their own in game horses better (they did this with the lippizzaners) and they also try to make the special animations (piaffe, lavade, ...) as realisitc as possible, so why not the gaits too?
I feel like it has wobblers syndrome or something lol. It's a shame because it looks so cute
I dont care for them at all. Animations all very exaggerated
what child animated this
