As an IMG, if i complete my FY-2 and if I'm not able to land a specialty training post, what would i do? Can i stay in the UK and do locums? Or else how would things be?
I'm an IMG from India. Due to covid and exam cancellations, I'll be having a clinical gap of almost 9 months. I am in a country where I'm not licensed to work so I had planned my PLAB journey in such a way that I'll have less than 6 months of clinical gap which fits the GMC criteria of clinical breaks. But my PLAB 2 got cancelled because of covid and now I'm confused. Is it going to affect my job chances or GMC registration? I'm worried because of the misconceptions amongst IMGs because of this, so wanted an answer from somebody who is in NHS. I'll really appreciate if you could give me your insight about this, thanks a lot! :)
This is one of frds query My doubt was actually that I've seen a few seniors of mine giving MRCS right after they have given their NEET PG and clearing it with a good percentage I only had to ask that after their GMC registration will they be working at ST3 if yes then what decides their speciality in that speciality training Waiting for the reply

So, you apply for CT1-3 or ST1-3. They are both the same just worded differently by different trusts sometimes. Post which you apply for ST4-6 or ST4-7 or ST4-8.. or however long your ST training is depending on what you apply for.

Mam, which exam is relatively easier according to u to get speciality branches like (radio,obg) Msra vs neet pg as you have experienced both exams, please try to reply🙏
Dear Deepak. Radiology is a very competitive branch in general , specially in UK. If you are happy and can consider other streams - the ones to consider are OBGYN, A&E, medicine and if you dont mind PSY. Best wishes.

I would recommend that you don’t apply for training post as your first job.
It’s good to do a non training job first and settle in.

Do we have to apply for each year of specialty training, like SY1, ST2?
