The American healthcare system always shocks me as a non-American. This is just crazy. Isn’t the whole point to actually give people medication if they need it? Seems like the system is built around finding loopholes to not treat people :/

So happy that your drs appointments went pretty well ❤. I’m 53 and was born with cerebral palsy and was diagnosed with epilepsy at 15 so I go through certain things like that to maintain SSI . My daughter is an occupational therapist who works with geriatric patients at a rehabilitation facility and she turned me onto your channel almost 2 years ago . You two are amazing and an adorable couple 💕
This reminds me of IEP Goals and Objectives I had to create for students with medical conditions of which regression is expected. I had to document progress. I had to go to great lengths to show data that supported “maintenance IS progress for this student”. I’m happy that you are maintaining and that your medication was approved…for another year…where you hit “repeat” once again.
Yes! Some IEPs are ridiculous. I adopt medically fragile children and they usually are stuck at a newborn level. We have to set goals anyway for pushing buttons and taking tests. The state makes it so hard on the teachers just doing the paperwork instead of concentrating on the kids.

My brother is severely disabled and I dread his yearly check up. Luckily he doesn't understand the severity and even enjoys the attention, but for me it is the worst day of the year. I can't lift my brother by my own, so I need to drag my mother along, who has PTSD from my brothers complications. It is draining.

Yes! I literally just filled out a 21 page packet for this today. And all my records show I was born disabled. What do they think is going to change? They should just flag certain files of people with permanent disabilities so we don't have to be bothered.

Funny moment during my last muscle strength eval, I wrote down that I didn’t know if I could open a can (first time I’ve ever been asked about a can, usually they ask about jars lol) My doctor read it and said “what do you mean you don’t know if you can open a can!?” I replied back “well I’ve never tried and I’m not much of a soup person”
