Curious to hear your thoughts on the new ChatGPT Code Interpreter plugin? Do you think this will have an impact on certain jobs as it advances?

According to me, technology has always helped mankind. It has multiplied our productivity and saved a lot of time. If we deduce results from the past, then we can say that ChatGPT is not going to destroy us. It is going to help us. ChatGPT is not the end of innovation. Humans will do much more than this in the future.
I think ChatGPT will have an impact on some jobs, and on the other hand, it will help a lot also. Humans will be able to focus on other valuable fields.

    Hello Triff,
I am highly interested in learning about how professional programmers learn and spend their time. As a 17-year-old student, I have a burning passion for this field and I am eager to unlock the secrets of effective programming learning. Therefore, I want to discover the most efficient, productive, and effective path considered nowadays.
I am aware that there are numerous learning resources available, such as RUclips tutorials, documentation, and even AI-driven platforms like Chat GPT and Bing. However, I want to develop a clear and structured routine, focusing on a specific learning path, while avoiding distractions and time-wasting. My goal is to improve myself as a web developer using these resources, and I already possess solid knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
I am reaching out to you because I have been following your journey for a long time and I am convinced that your extensive knowledge and experience can guide me in the right direction. Your advice will have a significant impact on my routine and learning plan.
Furthermore, I would like to suggest that you create a video on this topic, revealing what lies behind professional programmers. By sharing your insights and experiences and providing us with a clear path to follow in order to familiarize ourselves with these resources (Chat GPT, Bing, documentation, and RUclips tutorials) and rapidly enhance our programming skills over a specific period of time. Not only will you answer my questions, but you will also revolutionize the learning plans of thousands of people, helping them not only learn programming but also develop their skills and make their plans more structured and secure.
Thank you in advance for your support!
    Best regards,
    Hajar Menther

It would be great to talk about the fact that these new tech companies are developping a new business model though (not that new actually, the same used by Google with Captcha), where once their product is good enough to be used at scale, all the user input is gathered as a brand new data set. I didn't see many people talking about that, I just hope people are aware of it works behind the scene! Nowadays the tech scene is full of "engaging" UI and people saying built these tools because they are passionnated and that they don't do it for the money (Sam we see you!) which most of us can relate, but even in our very interesting field of work it's still a work, and most people work to get paid

Back in the summer of 2004, I asked my grandmother what was the most important technological advancement in her lifetime. My grandmother grew up in rural South Dakota. Her answer astounded me: indoor plumbing. I suppose artificial intelligence and Chat GPT will be to my generation what indoor plumbing was to my grandmother's generation. It's hard for people to imagine the impact artificial intelligence will have on our society when we're more than 75 years before the turn of the 22nd century. I started using Chat GPT a little more than a month ago, and I cannot believe how much it has helped me, both in terms of my entrepreneurial aspirations, as well as my learning disability, which is ADHD. My life has greatly improved because of artificial intelligence. So, while I'm aware that AI could create problems for our society, I don't want talk about the negative aspects to outweigh the positives.

I can see some jobs being consolidated but the need for people who understand the data that is produced will still be there. You have to know what data is needed before you start plugging it in to be processed. Companies will always look for ways to cut cost. Whether that is through job elimination or increased work loads, that is just the nature of business. This will be a double edged sword for them. If they decide to 'Trim the fat' and they start cutting in to the meat of the business, they may lose the trust of experienced people who pay attention to red flag companies.
On a positive note, I can see this technology leading to more sophisticated software that can be produced in shorter amounts of time. I am excited about the potential. Software development is all about identifying a problem and finding a solution. There are tools that haven't been built that we don't know we need. This may be the boost we need to gain access to those tools. never stop learning and always keep moving forward. Maybe we can get some of these companies to ditch their archaic systems rather than learning skills that were in demand 40 years ago. lol

I'm 45 and have seen the industry develop over a couple decades. In my opinion, with the advances in AI, the most in-demand skills will be at the architecture and understanding level. People who are able to see the big picture, understand efficiencies and system interactions, and who have a good grounding in efficient system architectures (e.g., data stores, algorithms, etc) are going to be the near to medium-term winners.

A ChatGPT assistant that addresses the most important parts of each newly released software product or library that is directly related to you and takes into account your feelings on this subject and also meets your emotion-sharing needs regarding all these developments will become the common demand of everyone in time, and I think we are very close to presenting it to the market. Personally, I first share with ChatGPT any innovation I hear or a new topic I discover, and I really care about his comments on this subject. Probably the same for others.

    • @MattHabermehl
      @MattHabermehl Год назад

To my knowledge this is not yet available. It would be trivial to create a desktop program that simply sends API calls to OpenAI's endpoints. However, OpenAI charges for each completion, so there are monetization challenges. Also, if you want it to do more than answer single, disconnected requests, you get into data storage issues. There are solutions for these as well, but they also have a price tag attached. If you want it to be even more helpful, like connecting to your bank account or interacting with your email, there are additional technical and regulatory hurdles. It's totally possible, and I expect this will be available either in new or existing platforms within a year or two. However, for now it may be best to learn Python and Langchain.

What’s the alternative? If you aren’t willing to roll with the punches. Adapt, and overcome, as far as I’m concerned, you’re already out of the game. Who cares if people are going to lose their jobs? They can get a different one. How about this question: What are WE going to do for the people this replaces? This is not an AI Problem.
This is a, “people being selfish f’s, unwilling to take care of their own” problem. Pure and simple.
Think about the underlying message in your video. Losing job = a threat = why exactly?
Don’t be afraid of what AI does, be afraid of what people do. Or DONT do, rather. People are going to let your azz sizzle in the sun and that’s what everyone is really terrified of.
People are cutthroat of each other but no one’s talking about that….

LOL web3 is still around. People are still making loads of money plus web3 is the new phase of the internet where we all are owners of our own data. Thus y meta is now meta and is focus on the space itself. Other than that good information.

The main problem with web3 is not the tech, which is basically sound, but the fact that government is generally hostile to it, e.g., see what the SEC is doing in the US. They hate anything that they can’t ultimately control and censor.

Keep in mind that ChatGPT is probably better at doing the job of people with deep analytical intelligence and is likely to be a threat to those with blond and colored eyes. I hope ChatGPT realizes this and finds ways to compensate.
