I have a few questions To start off I also have a 4.3L vortec but I have a GMC Sonoma. It’s a 1996 with a 5 speed manual. I seen this video to see what you’ve done and I bought that turbo that you linked in the video not really thinking about what will come of it just thinking having a turboed Sonoma would be sweet. But I recently realized it’s a lot more work than I expected. And a lot more money I’m having to spend. Like on piping, an intercooler, wastegate, blow off valve, headers, down pipe and exhaust, a tuneable ecu, injectors, you know, the necessities for this type of build. My question is what should I look for and even get when I’m on a budget and trying to make a good amount of power as well as making it run right and without it blowing up and destroying everything?? What should I do for starters??
If you have your turbo exhaust manifolds with the cross-over pipe and turbo flange, I'll buy them Fyi, the eBay kit doesn't fit power steering pump, power steering lines, and steering shaft are all in the way
Did u put a c-clip eliminator kit in that rear end after snapping an axle. To see that rim/tire/axle/sparks in the side mirror is nothing short of insane
I have 02 s10. I blow up the stock engine. Tried to save some money and got a Craig’slist engine with transmission for $150. As they say u get what u pay for. That engine relocated itself from the truck to the highway. I got a Jasper engine and truck is running great. Headers and intake and removed the power steering and ac. I’m looking to cam it and redo the top end. I also plan to turbo it. What would b ur advice in that route as well as what to suggest to do I avoid. Any information and advice would b appreciate.
as much as I love to follow you and I learn tons from you, you're going to make those intakes impossible to find in stock and that is just not ok at all
There are a few on ebay right now, if you have some fab skills the 4 bolt throttle body intakes are a little cheaper(this is what I used) and make an adaptor plate to go from 3 bolt to 4 bolt, the 4.3 4 bolt is smaller than 5.3 4 bolt so just buying an adaptor doesn't work(tried it), try not to buy a used one it is more than likely cracked from freezing(tried this as well)
Hey man I was interested on trying this build for my 2003 Silverado, I was curious what brakes you have installed on the truck. Do you have any recommendations for good brakes?
I bought a truck just to turbo to gain experience for some bigger builds just because of this channel. Any help with the tuning part of it how are you doing it? I am guessing HP tuners will be the easiest way. Any way to email you direct?

My dad just passed and i ended up with his 2000 Silverado V6 w/151k on the clock. Its a 2wd, regular cab. I dont have much use for it, looked at selling it, but, really dont see any like it for sale in my area. I didn't think it would be worth 3 grand max? Bein a 2wd 6cyl? Dad took care of it, has a fiberglass camper shell, carpet laid in bed, not a single scratch in the bed. I had no idea anyone made a full size truck with a 6cyl in 2000.
Depending on the area you’re in. In California you could sell something like that for $5k if it’s really in good condition. If it’s the 5 speed that just makes the value greater 👍🏾
I got an 06 4.3 and nv3500 trans out of a 1500 for my 91 Isuzu! This is my plan. The truck had 90k and is non touched reasons I went with 4.3 I don’t want to cut lol prob gonna have to but 2800 pounds should fly at 400 hp
I was going to go sniper but the cost is crazy for distributor intake sniper and cam but after this I might not do the cam they are like 400 lol what you think cam or pistons ha ha? My motor is going to machine shop soon
Many ways to skin that chicken. There are threaded plugs that can be used throughout the block, or can get an oil filter adapter that allows taking pressurized oil from there.
After my father passed I got his 04 4.3 grew up in it wanna 5 speed swap I got the knowledge to do most of it my only thing is does the ecu matter like would I need to swap out that I do know however, the stock manifold will not accept boost because it is a two piece and extremely weak plastic with no real way of clamping anything on the stock throttlebody So hopefully I can find the marine manifold you use when I do that portion
And black box ecu doesn't have an OS for 3 bar map so is a little tricky to tune you have to hack the ve up to make it work I swapped a p59 from 03 blazer and flashed 3 bar SD OS and tuned from there
Prices for even 90s c/k 1500 series of these is ridiculous. People think they have some kind of gold they are sitting on and i doibt they are even being bought.
