Disney's Aladdin is a platform game based on the 1992 film of the same name developed by Virgin Games USA. The game was released by Sega for the Sega Genesis on November 11, 1993 as one of several games based on the film, including another game that was released in the same month by Capcom for the Super NES.
The game is one of the best-selling Genesis games with four million copies sold. It also received a number of adapted ports for other platforms, such as the NES, Game Boy, Amiga, and DOS computers.

I had the SNES back in the time and was mesmerized by the Megadrive version !
I remember playing the bootleg NES version, and then few years later I played the DOS version and was surprised at how significantly different they were. In fact it is only the first (few) level(s) that share any similarity, and the games are quite different for the rest of it. I actually had more fun with the DOS version, and I remember only going throw the NES version by guessing the password for later levels. The password was just made of pictures of Aladdin characters, so it was much easier to guess one that would take me somewhere.

Genesis has highest resolution and 60fps butter smooth. But, SNES version has very nostalgic soundtracks

It's interesting that Aladdin's Game Boy version and The Jungle Book for Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo share the same exact song (level 1). From what I know there was a prototype for the Mega Drive version but it got replaced by Prince Ali, and later repurposed for level 3 in The Jungle Book on the Mega Drive and level 1 on the Super Nintendo.

Man... I played the MS-DOS version when I was around 5 years old...
Though I recall it having some aspects of the MegaDrive one?, or maybe it's just my imagination Idk, it's been a while XD.
It always amazes me how much the people who did some GBC games achieved with such limited hardware, some of the pixel art still looks good.

In the pan across the different versions, it's sooo clear the SNES version is by far the prettiest just to look it. It simply lacked those Disney animators to take the character animations to the next level. But if someone could hack in the Genesis' Aladdin sprites to the SNES game and then actually update his colours to look much more in line with the quality the SNES is capable of there, that version would walk it in a minute. It's such a shame Disney didn't give the SNES version that extra attention back in the day, because it really could have been stunning.

sadly, we never got a pc port for the windows computers but we did got pc ports for the 16-bit computers
Makes one wonder that Disney didn't let Digital Eclipse to include GB Color and Advance iterations of the Aladdin games in the Classic Games Collection? Was it licensing issues with those two in particular, seeing since those were by Ubisoft and Capcom, respectively.

This is not the real NES version, this is actually a bootleg, the original NES version is based on the Gameboy one.
