- Episode 11 of pivotal artists and albums that have had a great influence on me! Today I discuss the rock band Kiss and their musical and artistic influence. They were the first rock band I ever got into. Ace Frehley, Alive II, Shock Me and more! I will also talk about their recent farewell tour and their virtual avatar legacy with George Lucas’ special-effects company Industrial Light & Magic. Is this the future of the legacy bands?

Awesome my first kiss album was rock n roll over and we bought it at a department store too, Lazarus in Columbus Ohio. I remember it like it was yesterday. My folks hated kiss but I was being rewarded for something I don’t remember and my step dad said pick any album u want, I picked rock n roll over because calling dr. Love was on the radio all the time but I loved the first alive album cover. This was 76 I believe and I was 8 years old. I got into kiss from a teen brother of a young girl I was crazy about. His bedroom walls were plastered with nothing but kiss pics floor to ceiling. I would go sit in there and just look at all the cool pictures and posters . Ace was definitely my favorite, sad imo he’s a flake now but Anyway I also remember in the store they had the box set called the originals with a cool cover too. Great memories man

In the 1960s a band called the blues magoos did a stchk called electric suits and yes they lit up all the kiss guys knew them ace was taught by peppy the singer hence new york altimatum dolls
They have done avatars with Elvis, abba, Tupac, Micheal Jackson and others, it’s kinda sad tbh. It’s not for me
Kiss today is a total joke, what they did with putting others in Ace and Peter’s makeup was the line crosser. They abused and took advantage of fans one too many times and knowing newer fans won’t care.
