    This is absolutely #brilliant ! This video is the key to selecting rope that can also be used for DIY camera straps. This might just get me into a new business; thank you!

      A lightwieght UHMWPE rope, like our SeastrandX, would be great for that! Let us know how it turns out!

    So which for rock climbing? Nylon?

    • @E-rigging
      @E-rigging  Год назад

      Right, most climbers will use nylon ropes that are dry treated, meaning they've been chemically treated to make them less hydrophilic. Nylon loses strength when wet, so it's important to find a dry-treated nylon climbing rope if you're planning on climbing outside the gym. Thanks for the comment!

    Please help. I need a non-absorbing rope. Poly propylene ?

      Hi Joey! Yes, polypropylene would be the best material option for a non-absorbing rope. Thanks for the question!

    @05:58 You said dynema/spectra has decent elasticity? I thought it has little to no elasticity...

    • @E-rigging
      @E-rigging  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment! UHMWPE fibers are rigid, but the rope itself behaves elastic because of the braid. Any elongation (within WLL) is not due to the mechanical properties of the UHMWPE fibers necessarily, but to the stabilization of the braiding process under load. We omitted this from the video since it felt like a bit of a rabbit hole. Let us know if you'd like to see a video that goes a little deeper into our UWMWPE ropes.

    For Docklines and anchor ropes you will need the shockabsorbing ability from the elastic NYLON polyamide. In the video 4:30 minutes, you (and that is misguiding) recommend "Polyester for docklines and anchor ropes because of the LOW STRECH". That is not logic. In most situations you need elastic ropes for docklines and anchor rope.

    “Adopts 48 strands high strength nylon thread at its core, super high pulling force is ensured.
    Double layers, each layer is tightly woven with 24 strands of reinforced polyester wires, very high abrasion resistance Adopts 48 strands high strength nylon thread at its core, super high pulling force is ensured.

    Can I use this rope for climbing or is there not enough shock absorption? (I’ll be climbing trees)

      Right. Double Braid Nylon is your best bet. Nylon ropes that have been dry-treated will be the safest option since the treatment will keep it from getting wet. Wet Nylon ropes are not as strong as dry ones. Thanks for the comment!
