Of course, all this could be solved if they removed helmets and pads and got rid of this attitude among certain players about hitting hard. Rugby is a very physical sport, but you don't see those guys having their brains demolished.
Just like Exon Mobile sponsored the climate research but then found out through it that letting people know what they found would have a horrible effect on their business, they tried to cover it up and make a science issue a political issue.

I would like to add NASCAR’s 2013 Spingate onto this list, albeit in the future. For those who maybe don’t know about it, here’s a brief summary: in the fall Richmond race in 2013, Clint Bowyer spun himself out on purpose to manipulate the outcome of the race in order to get his Michael Waltrip Racing teammate, Martin Truex Jr. into the Chase. Initially, Truex was in, but after an investigation by NASCAR, Truex was knocked out of the Chase, and Jeff Gordon took his place via a wildcard spot. Still to this day, it is the biggest monetary fine a team has recieved in NASCAR history, with MWR being hit with a $300K fine. It would end up being the final nail in the coffin for the team as it would cease operations following the 2015 season.

21:52 I could list other scandalous situations in F1, the 2005 US Grand Prix (where Michelin tyre company had safety concerns about their tyres failing on the then diamond ground resurfaced Indianapolis Motor Speedway led to their teams, 14 out of 20, withdrawing from the race, leaving only 6 cars on Bridgestone tyres to run the 73 lap race. Michael Schumacher won for Ferrari, his team mate, Rubens Barrichello was second and Taigo Montiero was third for Jordan), Spygate (where McLaren was found to be in possession of thousands of pages of confidential Ferrari technical information in 2007, after initially being cleared of wrongdoing, McLaren were given a $100 million fine and were excluded from the 2007 World Championship) or 1975 Spanish Grand Prix (in what turned out to be the last race held under the Franco Dictatorship, the teams were blackmailed to run in unsafe conditions leading to one of the drivers having a rear wing failure, which pitched their car into a spectator enclosure, killing 5 and breaking the driver's leg) but the conspiracy by the Renault team to order Nelson Piquet Jnr to deliberately crash takes some beating in terms of infamy

He is only one of many who lost their gold after failing a dope test. How about the 1976 East German women's swim team, who were told to take excessive steroids, without explanation, and they turned into half-men, broke all of the world records, and still passed the drug tests.
Yes there is and I can remember it as a child, I'm a tomboy I played and watched a lot of sports. As a child I have seen coaches treat certain players special and they were Untouchable and they could do no wrong and yes all the children were from prestigious households and the selected ones didn't have to put in the work like we did and they wasn't even all that good they were only playing because their daddy was rich and or the principal son or the governor's son.
Hi Mojo, I think you forgot to mention the Australian cricket team's sandpapergate scandal against South Africa in Cape Town in 2016/17 as well the Hansie Cronje Matchfixing scandal that rocked the cricket world in 2000.
Here are a few others: 1. New England Patriots "Deflategate" 2. WWF Steroid scandal 3. Tiger Woods infidelity scandal 4. Bloodgate 5. Floyd Landis 6. O.J. Simpson trial
I would argue the Broncos essentially paying John Elway part of his contract under the table to save salary cap space in the late 90s, including in 1998 when they won the super bowl, should have been a bigger scandal than anything the Patriots did.
To add: Marion Jones steroid scandal, Danny Almonte falsifying his age to play in the little league World Series, The Chinese Women’s gymnastics team in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, The entirety of the Malice at the Palace, and the Steve Moore incident.
I definitely agree with you and apparently gambling and sports is no big deal because doesn't Las Vegas now have a hockey team and a football team. Ironic isn't it
I think I heard about that Astros incident boy oh boy how they get away with that amount of cheating it's beyond me at least they got caught eventually
I think it's really shameful how people criticize Lance Armstrong for taking drugs, the man won 7 Tour De France's on them. When I'm on drugs, I can't even find my bike.
The underarm bowling incident certainly violated the spirit of cricket, but it was within the letter of the rules of the ODI tournament that summer. The Sandpapergate incident was flagrant cheating, and I doubt that even now we know the full story.
I am mixed about the baseball steroid era. When the 1994 player strike happened baseball lost a lot of popularity then McGwire and Sosa have their legendary 1998 homerun race and the popularity of baseball increased. Everyone was watching and people said that the home run chase saved baseball.
The Tanya Harding and Penn St. scandals deserve higher. Those victims will forever feel the effects of these scandals, far more than anyone else on this list

Catch is that Armstrong doping scandal isn't even that guilty, they couldn't give his wins to anyone because number 2 to 20 were all also caught doping as well. So the entire industry was cheating in same way.

One of the players refused to go to a World Cup call up bc he was there. She could've won a world cup, but didn't bc she was so terrified of seeing him
Lol what? In the 7 years that Armstrong won the tour 87% of the top-10 finishers (61 of 70) were either suspected or confirmed as steroid cheats with 48 of them confirmed to have failed drug tests. They were all cheating.
Oh and to top off the Astros cheating scandal they lost in the 2019 World Series to the nationals who have never even appeared in a World Series let alone won one
As of 2022, a new big scandal rocked sports involving the 2010 Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks. As a result, former head coach then Florida Panthers coach Joel Queneville was fired, along with Chicago GM Stan Bowman among others.

About Tim Donaghy, how about Game 6 of the Lakers-Kings 2002 WCF? Or the Timberwolves' under the table deal that cost them draft picks and could've won Kevin Garnett a ring in Minnesota?
10:22 Phillip Banks (James Avery): Maybe coordinated sports could straighten him out. Geoffrey Butler (Joseph Marcell): Yes...the same thing worked for Pete Rose!
The women that were hurt should be the worst scandal out of all of them. If it had more publicity, would that help them win? I feel disgusted that women being treated like this is no that big of a scandal.
Thank you for adding Paul Riley. Yes I know women's sports, and in this case, women's soccer, don't get enough viewership, but this is a very, very important case. No one should be mistreated in locker rooms for years. No one on a men's team or women's team. The NWSL deserves better. Also, Fuck Larry Nassar. A small and smart man, who used his massage therapy skills to abuse athletes for decades. It is absolutely disgusting.
The greatest hitter in baseball is banned from the hall of fame for life if a single one of those Astro players ever gets a single vote for the hall of fame I will start my own riot.
Pete Rose should be in the hall of fame, he was held out all this time for gambling but now MLB is advertising gambling for Draft Kings. So how can you keep him out if now your advertising it.
The biggest scandal I can remember was the Essendon bombers doping saga. As a massive fan of this club it was particularity heart breaking to see the way the players and coach James Hird was treated especially what we did in 2012 did not work.
Yeah but everybody in that peleton whas on drugs maybe not all on the same and not the same amount but everybody was on doping in the nineties and 00 in roadcycling
@@seppejosten219 But Lance won because he was the organiser of the doping ring, other dopers had to let him win if they want to carry on being part of his doping scheme to get sponsor money etc.... Also, he was the most doped one more than any other people in the sports..
I'm surprised John Spano buying the New York Islanders wasn't on here. For those who don't know (who are looking this deep in the comments nearly a year after the video was made), he defrauded the NHL and didn't have anywhere near the money to buy the team, let alone run it. He agreed to buy it for 165 million bucks, and when the money was due he kept coming up with excuses not to pay it (leaving off several zeroes on a check). He was actually the owner of the team for a few months before it became clear that it was all a fraud.
I do find the Lance Armstrong thing to be absolutely one sided. Everyone was doping. Everyone. Yet Lance was the only one who was banned from the sport AND had his wins taken away. The fact is, there was no honest way to win when he was racing, so why was he the only one who got called out? Sounds like a scapegoat to me.

@@rourkebar1062 You ended your story with a "Gotcha!" moment as though Armstrong was unique when he wasn't.
Never said it was unique
Ngl I love that Bishop Sycamore was an honorable mention.
Insane how 3 of the top 5 are mlb related yet the sport is so disrespected by outsiders
You omitted Ben Johnson losing his gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics after testing positive for steroids!
He is only one of many who lost their gold after failing a dope test. How about the 1976 East German women's swim team, who were told to take excessive steroids, without explanation, and they turned into half-men, broke all of the world records, and still passed the drug tests.
I'd like to imagine Lance Armstrong was like "My body's already riddled with cancer. Might as well fill it with something else".
No Armstrong was clear of cancer for 2 years when he won his first tour.
The Mike Tyson ear bite on Evander Holyfield didn't even make dishonorable mention?
I don’t understand how cheating in cycling is any different to cheating in fighting sports yet one is far less punishing than the other,
Wow I didn't realize there's so much dishonesty in sports
Yes there is and I can remember it as a child, I'm a tomboy I played and watched a lot of sports. As a child I have seen coaches treat certain players special and they were Untouchable and they could do no wrong and yes all the children were from prestigious households and the selected ones didn't have to put in the work like we did and they wasn't even all that good they were only playing because their daddy was rich and or the principal son or the governor's son.
Fuelgate: 2007 Daytona speedweeks, Spingate: 2013 Richmond regular season finale. Both involving Michael Waltrip Racing.
Hi Mojo, I think you forgot to mention the Australian cricket team's sandpapergate scandal against South Africa in Cape Town in 2016/17 as well the Hansie Cronje Matchfixing scandal that rocked the cricket world in 2000.
Nah I think you mean the multiple times India ball tampered. All that was Warner's fault, it had nothing to do with Sir Steven Smith.
Lol no one watches cricket
Here are a few others:
1. New England Patriots "Deflategate"
2. WWF Steroid scandal
3. Tiger Woods infidelity scandal
4. Bloodgate
5. Floyd Landis
6. O.J. Simpson trial
I would argue the Broncos essentially paying John Elway part of his contract under the table to save salary cap space in the late 90s, including in 1998 when they won the super bowl, should have been a bigger scandal than anything the Patriots did.
Can I add in savor 2010 Star craft match fixing scandal
Dont forget SMU and the Death Penalty
I’m gonna add the death of Owen hart and the Chris Benoit double murders
To add:
Marion Jones steroid scandal,
Danny Almonte falsifying his age to play in the little league World Series,
The Chinese Women’s gymnastics team in the 2000 Sydney Olympics,
The entirety of the Malice at the Palace,
and the Steve Moore incident.
137: 175 years in jail? He must be long gone right now
you guys do your research! was not expecting the melbourne storm salary cap scandal but it was the first thing to my aussie mind!
the NBA betting scandal was clearly scapegoating. After that notice how every sports league has been far more subtle on how they fix games/seasons.
I remember seeing a picture of Barry Bonds's arm, and his muscles DID not look natural!
A vein was popping out of his arm!
There should be a part 2 for this list
"Pete Rose should be a baseball legend" Come on he is, he just screwed up his reputation.
I definitely agree with you and apparently gambling and sports is no big deal because doesn't Las Vegas now have a hockey team and a football team. Ironic isn't it
I would like to add the Evander Kane gambling scandal this year
17:35 I think that's the single least sincere apology I've ever heard, and I follow politicians.
Please do a top 10 scariest sports injuries
"Say It Ain't So Joe" so that's where that phrase comes from
The murder of Andrés Escobar after his own goal in the 1994 World Cup shook the football world. It was awful.
I thought that the 1919 'Black' Sox Scandal would be #1.
I think I heard about that Astros incident boy oh boy how they get away with that amount of cheating it's beyond me at least they got caught eventually
The hand of frog goal should be on this list!
If Spygate 2007 isn't on here, I'm gonna have a fit.
Edit: it's the first one :)
I'm more curious about knowing what is happening right now that will become the next scandal.
I think it's really shameful how people criticize Lance Armstrong for taking drugs, the man won 7 Tour De France's on them.
When I'm on drugs, I can't even find my bike.
Let alone ride one ha ha
I think the no1 Australian sporting scandal was actually the underarm bowling incident in a match against NZ in the 80s
I think the scandals in relation to horse racing and greyhound racing are far greater than underarm.
And the 2018 Sandpapergate scandal involving captain Steve Smith and VC David Warner.
The underarm bowling incident certainly violated the spirit of cricket, but it was within the letter of the rules of the ODI tournament that summer. The Sandpapergate incident was flagrant cheating, and I doubt that even now we know the full story.
McLaren being fined $100,000,000 dollars, number 20
Patriots being fined $250,000, number 19, yeah that makes sense........
Obviously right on time for a reason
I am mixed about the baseball steroid era. When the 1994 player strike happened baseball lost a lot of popularity then McGwire and Sosa have their legendary 1998 homerun race and the popularity of baseball increased. Everyone was watching and people said that the home run chase saved baseball.
What is the cause ?
“Baseball was so boring dudes had to become supermen to make it watchable.”
Sosa and McGwire saved baseball. I don’t care how many steroids they did.
You forgot South Korea national team match fixing against Italy and Spain in the 2002 World Cup
What's infuriating is that The Astros didn't need to cheat to win a piece of metal.
There should be a list for the tour of France alone.
The Tanya Harding and Penn St. scandals deserve higher. Those victims will forever feel the effects of these scandals, far more than anyone else on this list
I painted the msu gym those girls trained at very shortly after the ordeal, our foreman gave us strict instructions not to even look at them, even if you were just watching the tricks and stuff, and explained everything, and that the school would kick anyone out who made them feel uncomfortable. Very sad

Whats the name of the song in the background ?
i dont know if it counts as a "scandal" but we cant forgot the zidane headbutt incident.
Catch is that Armstrong doping scandal isn't even that guilty, they couldn't give his wins to anyone because number 2 to 20 were all also caught doping as well. So the entire industry was cheating in same way.
Damn.
@@MissAlmostFine They'd probably end up going to 70th place plus before finding clean test.
@@nickmoney Well if everyone is doing it, does it really make a difference?? Like of course best case scenario is no one doping, but if everyone is doesn’t it put ppl on a more even playing field??
@@MissAlmostFine Yeah, Armstrong was just biggest target because victory and fame come with the spoils as well.
@@MissAlmostFine
Everyone doped BUT Armstrong enjoyed extra advantage because he was the organiser or the doping ring .. other dopers had to let him win to carry on being part of his doping scheme. And of course, being the doping organiser, he certainly had control over being the most doped one more than other cyclists ...
The SMU scandal was larger than most on that list it destroyed a Football program for twenty years.
1 should be Ken miles being robbed from the win at 1966 Le Mans
It's a breath of fresh air knowing Russia will never again compete at any meaningful sporting event ever.
Hahahahaha how's this post working out? Hahahahahaha REEEEEEEEEE!!!!
I actually heard about Paul Riley's accusations on the news just absolutely terrible
One of the players refused to go to a World Cup call up bc he was there. She could've won a world cup, but didn't bc she was so terrified of seeing him
Once a sports cheaters always a cheaters
Armstrong ruined so many honest careers.
Bane: Your punishment must be more severe.
Lol what? In the 7 years that Armstrong won the tour 87% of the top-10 finishers (61 of 70) were either suspected or confirmed as steroid cheats with 48 of them confirmed to have failed drug tests. They were all cheating.
King Mo VS Rampage Jackson The Original fight just sayin'
Oh and to top off the Astros cheating scandal they lost in the 2019 World Series to the nationals who have never even appeared in a World Series let alone won one
Ironically the whistle blower of the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State was never hired by a football team again, and is now out of football!
As of 2022, a new big scandal rocked sports involving the 2010 Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks. Ex-Blackhawks including Kyle Beach were sexually assaulted by former assistant coach Brian Aldrich and was kept secret from the NHL despite the entire team and league knowing about it. As a result, former head coach then Florida Panthers coach Joel Queneville was fired, along with Chicago GM Stan Bowman among others.
There is a Larry nassar bio on this RUclips channel called dreading and crime or something close to that. His story is sooooo fn crazy, I mean just a complete monster. The vid is like 3 hours long, that's how long it takes to describe how horrible this guy was. I mean fathers believed him over their own daughters
I have no.idea why it's not number 1......nobody was shocked when it turned out a ref was paid off, I mean cmon.....stealing signs???!!!!, are u fn kidding me,.....Lance Armstrong????.....nobody gives a shit about bicycle races
About Tim Donaghy, how about Game 6 of the Lakers-Kings 2002 WCF?
Or the Timberwolves' under the table deal that cost them draft picks and could've won Kevin Garnett a ring in Minnesota?
10:22
Phillip Banks (James Avery): Maybe coordinated sports could straighten him out.
Geoffrey Butler (Joseph Marcell): Yes...the same thing worked for Pete Rose!
The women that were hurt should be the worst scandal out of all of them. If it had more publicity, would that help them win? I feel disgusted that women being treated like this is no that big of a scandal.
No 1972 Olympic Gold Medal Basketball Game between the USA and USSR?....That was one of the worst ones that no one ever talks about
The New England Patriots will never learn their lessons smh 😒
Thank you for adding Paul Riley. Yes I know women's sports, and in this case, women's soccer, don't get enough viewership, but this is a very, very important case. No one should be mistreated in locker rooms for years. No one on a men's team or women's team. The NWSL deserves better.
Also, Fuck Larry Nassar.
A small and smart man, who used his massage therapy skills to abuse athletes for decades. It is absolutely disgusting.
There is no doubt about where WatchMojo is from, after watching this video. :D
You forgot the ball tampering scandal by the Australian cricket team in South Africa
They don't really care about cricket
God the storms salary cap scandal was so massively big !!
They are a great team and they always win or make it to the grand finals
Yesterday is history"
"Tomorrow is mystery"
"Today is gift"
"That why it's called present"😂😂❤️❤️
Master Oogway?
The greatest hitter in baseball is banned from the hall of fame for life if a single one of those Astro players ever gets a single vote for the hall of fame I will start my own riot.
The Astros should’ve never stolen signs but let’s stop acting like they were the first and only team to ever do it
How is security assault and abuse not the number 1? I don't get that.
Obviously not the main takeaway but as an Aussie I appreciate that you pronounced Melbourne correctly.
The tiny engines you can hide in the bike frame.
Larry Nasser is sickening!
A sad thing about Lance Armstrong is that he threw everyone for a loop make it seem that he was the boss at cycling when really it was all cheating
Yeah but everybody in that peleton whas on drugs maybe not all on the same and not the same amount but everybody was on doping in the nineties and 00 in roadcycling
@@seppejosten219
But Lance won because he was the organiser of the doping ring, other dopers had to let him win if they want to carry on being part of his doping scheme to get sponsor money etc.... Also, he was the most doped one more than any other people in the sports..
Please do Top 20 Evil Director/Producers. I'm sure Victor Salva would be number 1.
Oh yes I actually heard about Bishop Sycamore recently from Phil DeFranco the whole thing is a mess
Tim Donaghy is currently working as a heel referee in a professional wrestling promotion called Major League Wrestling.
Marion Jones - the greatest damage done to Olympics
you think *Marion Jones* did the greatest damage to the Olympics?
I think Ben Johnson Carl Lewis and linford Christie did that
Should've added 90s cricket scandal in top 5. Two big countries (SA and Ind) involved and many other high profile people ropped in
I'm surprised John Spano buying the New York Islanders wasn't on here.
Sounds like a scapegoat to me.
should have included the Australian cricket team sandpaper scandal
Patriots MO: WIN AT BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY
