Houston's bench coach Alex Cora would lead the Boston Red Sox to a World Series win the following season, knocking out the Astros in the ALCS in the process. He was then fired by Boston during the 2019 season for his involvement with the Astros' sign stealing scandal two years prior. A RUclipsr named UTree did a video on the City of Houston selling its soul to the devil for a league title. The Astros would win the 2022 World Series and release the city from the "devil", but the city of Boston also became the "devil's" plaything because of that 2018 WS title. They have never come close to winning a playoff series since then.
Casualties? The Bruins coming up just short of a Cup win 8 months later against the St Louis Blues, who were near the bottom of the standings by the NHL All-Star Break, the Blues winning their first Cup in franchise history and avenging the 1970 Finals, which ended in a sweep in favour of Boston, capped off by the Flying Bobby Orr goal.
Then a few years later in 2023, following a coaching change the Bruins would set the regular season record in wins and other stats, and follow that up with blowing a 3-1 series lead against the Florida Panthers in the first round to lose the series and watch the Panthers go all the way to the Cup Finals, coming up short against Boston's former Head Coach in Bruce Cassidy and the Vegas Golden Knights. The Bruins would lose to the Panthers in the second round the following playoffs, and this time the Panthers would come out as Cup Champions over an Edmonton Oilers squad that nearly became the biggest comeback story in the NHL since the 2019 Blues.
Onto the New England Patriots. After their 2017 Super Bowl win they began regressing as Tom Brady two years later would leave and sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New England kept making the playoffs until 2021, but didn't have the performance level to get them further. Then the following season, they would miss the playoffs by a single game, holding the division lead until the final week when they lost to the Bills and watched as the Dolphins took care of business against the New York Jets and leapfrogged into the division title over them. Being this was the weakest division in the conference there was no meaning to finishing second. The Patriots would finish the 2023 season with just 4 wins, their worst record since I believe before the Tom Brady era. Bill Belichuk took this as an opportunity to abandon ship. We'll see if they can turn it around.
The curse of the city of Boston would have continued if not for the Celtics winning the NBA Finals this past June. It was a struggle for the past 5 years but Boston is now also free from the "devil" despite some setbacks. And the Astros' sign stealing? The New York Yankees mostly called foul because Houston used their own cheating method against them. That's right, the Yankees were stealing signs during the 2016 season. They didn't make the playoffs, so nothing really came out of it.

So focused on baseball, that you've missed a lot of more flagrant events in other sports, like Marcel Hirscher (alpine skiing) finishing races despite not passing gates correctly, several phantom goals in football (Including the Wembley goal that basically awarded the 1966 World Cup).
Instead they added the Nelson Pique Jr. "incident", whose "judgement" was reversed, because it was found to be a personal vendetta by then FIA president Max Mosley (the nazi hookers guy) and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone (the 9th oldest person to ever father a child) against Flavio Briatore (admittedly, also a pretty questionable character), because the latter had thwarted some of their plans for F1 reform. Pique Jr's "witness report" was deemed unreliable, as it was made more than a year after the incident and after Pique had already been unceremoniously terminated by Briatore for under performing and after he had already been approached (and arguably coached) by the FIA. "Crashgate" wasn't about an alleged race manipulation, it was about 2 corrupt executives using a disgruntled former employee and a sports tribunal they controlled to crush somebody who dared to stand up against them.

16:07 This one is one of those incidents that you can only really get the full impact of if you understand the culture around fishing and similar competitions. It's a matter of deeply personal pride to those people, not just a sporting event.
The prize money comes from entry fees, so they were quite literally stealing from the very people who they were competing against. Plus, fishermen aren't known to be the most patient and understanding when someone violates their integrity in such a grievous way.
That judge wasn't just apoplectically furious, he was trying to head off the crowd. Those two are lucky that Fischer kept control and stopped the crowd from delivering more than a verbal beating.

Sticky substances and baseball pitchers: they claim stickier hands and fingers allows for better control of where the pitch will end up as it crosses the plate. For years there was an arms race to develop things like "Spider-tac" or even the "rosin and sunscreen" thing to better grip the ball. The MLB finally had enough and said the only legal substances are dirt, sweat and rosin from the bag on the mound. Since then every player caught and suspended for 10 games has never won an appeal, or withdrew the appeal. Of course the first few months without extra sticky stuff saw a lot of hit batter because of less pitch control.

I’m still mad about the Astros scandal. So are a lot of people and it’s because no one got punished. And there will never be a sadder outcome from cheating than the Resto scandal. He and his trainer ruined his career and many believe that his victims death was a suicide because of the depression cause by his career ending. They are the lowest of the low and should’ve done more prison time.

I only got through 4 minutes of this video. A soccer player flopping or a hockey player taking a dive cant be considered for this list, as it happens thousands of times every year.
I expect better from you Watch Mojo.

Calling Rivaldo "Ferrara"... That's not just ignorance, that's mediocrity. And that shows that the people who did this video don't give a fuck about what happens behind american borders, otherwise they'd have the culture required to know you call that football player Rivaldo.

i don't know how the refs in football (soccer) can miss the obvious dives and illegal ball contacts. like, they're looking RIGHT AT IT for Betty White's sake. it makes me think that they're being paid to look the other way or involved in match fixing.
goes to show that referees have a lot of power in sports. you don't see or hear of them being disciplined/penalized or called out for poor officiating by the league they officiate. players, coaches, management and owners can't even allude to poor officiating in interviews or else they'll be fined for hurting their feelings.

So many of these should have been banned for life and some even belong in prison (e.g.that motorbike driver).
