Listening to your comments on having a pair of Redwings 12-13 years, so I think you'll appreciate this. I bought a pair of mock toe Redwings 46 years ago. I've worn them mostly as a work boot this entire time. I've done everything in them, digging ditches to framing to concrete. They've been resoles 8 times, re-welted once. They're still my work boots. I've had newer Redwings and I honestly don't believe they're as good as the old ones. Like your show and hope you stay at it.
I just subscribed because of this video , I love boot talk and this video was well made overall. I see on channel not much boot talk but more of everything , so I ask please do more boot talk if possible.
Just discovered your channel and love your videos guys. I am a Red Wing guy myself, they wear like steel and from a price point, are a way better value than the Pacific brands that are so popular right now. They also are great for riding, and my roughnecks are my go to for days out on the Dynaglide. Take care guys and keep em coming.
That Viberg Service boot is sweet. I don't think I can afford them though from what I recall. They remind me of my Allen Edmonds Higgins Boot. Just subbed BTW.
Been binging all the episodes, love it! My favorite is also the Iron Ranger Muleskinner and always wished they had made them with a wedge sole, gave me a great idea to resole mine as well! (Was also looking at the Whites C350-CS in roughout, sort of seem like perfect marriage of that roughout and wedge sole look) You should do an episode on hats, (truck hats, baseball caps, etc) I really like the hats you both are wearing and always have difficulty finding good ones
Hey, I’m glad you’re enjoying are videos! You’re in luck because Red Wing now makes the Iron Ranger with a wedge sole! Model 8088 and 8089. And, yes… we’ll be doing an episode on trucker caps soon!
Never seen a moc toe on the 79 last. I’m jealous. And the grey esmonda leather is definitely from Seidel tannery. I have that leather in a cap toe. It’s one of my favorites
@@trinityhandmade3864 oh man that’s pretty awesome. They look sweet, I wish they would put them in production. Here is the info on the grey esmonda if you’re interested. “A new development from Seidel Tannery in Wisconsin, in the same family as their Hot Shot leather, which is often used for logger-style boots. Combination tanned with loads of extracts resulting in significant pull-up, and a subtle glaze. Beautiful grain and variation make for a surprisingly interesting gray leather.”
Interesting change of the sole on the Billy Boots. I may have mine done like that. Whew wee look at those asking eBay prices for the Billy Boots. I was telling the salesman at the RW store about them. He said heck we can dye the 877's black for those prices.
I don't understand the $1300 price point for a standard boondocker boot. It's almost double the price of Viberg and Lofgren boondockers, and those companies don't have a 'mystery' leather. They just seem to be about $700 overpriced.
Yeah, the price point is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. But, consider it is a custom built by hand boot and the build quality is 100%. Like I said, Brian is a true artist.
Yeah, it does look a little strange but, I think it’s just the way the photo is shot. I typically wear 8.5D, I think that pair, because it’s the first pair I ever bought were a 9D.

Great video! Wasn’t a fan of the role clubs new but they look very good with some wear
That rough out leather is pretty special though!

Nice boots. I like Wolverine 1000 mile boots.
Grey Esmonda was produced by Seidel.
17:53 Def do a collab with @Cobblersplus best recrafting
Anyone else think Paul sounds like Johnny Knoxville? Or maybe it's the other way around... Lol
😂

Truman moc toe is an Alden Indy spoof in my opinion
his moc toe redwings are not the right size you can see how much his pinky toe is hanging over the sole
