Girl, I am happy for You and your family. Remember, (before you start decorating): 1. Insulate house (attic, floors, walls- don't cut costs in here) 2. Put new and more windows for light (if one glaze) 3. Keep the chimney/fireplace (if there is one). Love from the other side of the world❤❤❤

100%!!!! Put your money into "capital projects", NOT interior renovations. You just can't go wrong with replacing your roof, windows, siding, plumbing, electrical FIRST before sinking money into kitchen cupboards, flooring, bathroom vanity/tub/shower.
Two reasons: capital projects hold their value longer & add value to the home. Plus!!! they can bring down the cost of utilities. Worth checking with your local government if any subsidies/tax break/loan insentives exist for doing projects that are "greener".
In our area, we can get a loan, interest free for ten years, if we replace our windows with triple pane.
Second reason to start with CP, Reno's such as new kitchens or flooring go out of style very quickly & not end up adding value to the home. Depends on the market when you sell, but 7 years from now, that new kitchen will be out of style.☹️♥️🇨🇦

@@amandazplace5663Plus, if the outside is not structurally sound and insulated, the inside wont do well at all. If you have leaks or rot or bad gutters, the decor wont matter. When starting the reno on the inside; same thing. Do the things that are the most important. like making sure the electrical and plumbing is in good working order, or your reno can be destroyed by fire or water... and waitng for the more cosmetic items, you will learn how you live in and use the home, so you will know better how to decorate and furnish and maybe even change some areas and how you use them

My husband managed money well, saving everything he made as a child working and earning an income on his family's farm, from the age of 9. When we married, he had enough saved to purchase our first home with cash. We've moved a couple of times since and always pay cash for our personal home and drive older cars that we buy with cash. We've never had debt and it is so freeing!! The Bible says it well, "the borrower is slave to the lender." Congratulations on your purchase and determination to be content with what God provides and live debt free. You are leaving a lasting legacy of self-discipline and delayed gratification for your children. We don't need nearly as much as we think we do.

What a story!! I can only pray that this is how it is for my children one day. Our goal is to give them a leg up and to show them that living without home debt is possible. You have a wonderful husband it sounds like ♥️

Congratulations on your smart home purchase! We just recently became debt free. Our debt free journey started with paying off our cars before having our first baby and becoming a SAHM. Then we focused on my husband’s student loans and lastly our house. Now 5 years later we finally have it all paid off! We went the conventional route with our home purchase but we’ve since looked into auction homes and maybe we’ll go that route with our next home. We’re all about frugal living and I’m enjoying watching your videos. I look forward to hearing more from you.

I bought a foreclosed house in a suburb of Cleveland, OH for $23,100 back in 2011 and payed cash. At the time there was 1,000's of foreclosed houses in Cuyahoga County. The only thing I did was repaint the inside because I didn't like the color. It was a 3 bed,2 full bath cape cod with attached garage. I sold the house in 2021 for $200,000 and moved out of state when I retired. My only regret was I wished I stayed in Ohio.

I paid under $7k for my little house, and installed my own solar. No electric bills! I'm going to sell it below fair market value, hoping I can pay it forward. I'm moving overseas and bought a house for less than half what I'll get for this one. (Like you) it pays to "think outside the box"!

Good deal! Following the Ramsey plan, living in expensive UTAH right now!! Our home will be paid off on my husband's single income, raising 7 children... by the end of this year. TWO more months!! We're never going back. We built within our one income means 18 years ago... have scrimped and saved.... drove cheaper cars.... shopped at the DI and gone without. THere are repairs the home needs, but we are holding off on things until we are able to save up enough after the mortgage is paid off. Everything we can do to stay as minimally out of debt as possible. TWO more months....

Good morning ❤ i just found your channel. My husband and i just bought a 3 bedroom 1 bath 1152 sqft on .33 acre fixer upper in September sight unseen. We just had pictures and a youtube walk through. Our final cost at closing was $23,307.35
We also payed cash. The first things we had to do immediately were brand new roof, furnace, and a hot water tank. We moved over 1800 miles away from home. It took 3 days to drive here with a 150 lb dog and a cat in the back seat. We had a friend drive the moving truck.
We moved to the upper peninsula of Michigan ❤ I'm curious where you moved to.

I’m a new subscriber and curious to know, did you have other videos on your channel about the move and new house that you spoke about planning to do that are no longer posted? I noticed this was posted two years ago, and the next visible video is from a month ago. A few channels I subscribe to for several years had videos removed, and a couple removed the videos on their own for one reason or another (usually related to privacy and safety concerns). Hope you didn’t have these types of issues. Blessings to you and your family. 🙏
