Well done Danny Three brilliant Barbel mate, one day i will be trying the river Trent for Barbel and Chub, because it's three hour 45 min's drive for me, just googled the river 7 and it's four and a hlf hour's drive, Doh !!!!!, thank you Danny
feel pain mate the wye is 3 hours and bit for me and i love going but its a jaunt, i do wish was closer to barbel as i do have dane but numbers super low and the ribbles 40 min drive and lot of it club owned.
I like to use at least a 2 inch hair on my barbel rigs. The Barbel are upto 13lbs and seem to be greedy on my local river and always deep hook on smaller baits like bander pellets or sweetcorn. Having a longer hair helps to hook right in the lip more often than not in my experience.
Great video Danny just love barbel unfortunately never caught one, years ago landed 2 in a club match but they where my 12 year old brothers so dont count them and he won the match that day and got the biggest barbel trophy

I fished that swim on the gravel beach yesterday! If you fish right in the middle of the flow you’ll pick up plenty, I had a lovely 5lb7oz chub and a couple of barbel and my mate had 4 barbel up to 7lb6oz. Great video as always.

Another great video Danny, just a thought would you consider maybe making some tutorial videos, your setups are nice and simple but showing how best to tie hooks, make hook lengths, feeder rigs etc would I think get more subscribers and benefit some of us older anglers to maybe do things a bit different. I recently watched another fishing vlog and a barbel was caught with a mouth full of hooks some had no line attached so poorly tied hooks this I think could be solved by more tutorial videos from persons like yourself who keep their rigs simple many thanks as always.

Yeah think because I trot the river lot and always use hemp you get a good idea of speed depth and fall rate so its coating area feeders going and drawing fish up. Just got that new bopper so be using that soon if think swims right. Thanks for kinds word matey tight lines

Can anyone point me in the right direction please . Looking for a stretch to fish over night. I’m going to drop my lad in north wales and thinking of stopping over the night. Fished the ship inn stretch few yrs back but found the swims had steep banks. I need somewhere to get my head down over night and get some fishing in. Any help would be much appreciated. I’m a soldier based in Norfolk so don’t get the time to get on any of the barbel rivers
I'm not a great mover if honest I'm more set stall out and do homework to know I'm in good area or what I think is right area. Prob my worst trait not moving but that's just way am them.come.to me

cheers bro, im no expert mate on float fishing for barbel myself im looking at areas that have fast water where river narrows as areas target
some great angling there mate and some really good fish care When you catty the hemp in do you put it in well upstream.
