Congrats on getting your copy! I had tried but missed out on this one. Beautiful lens!
Thanks, I guess I have an advantage here being well connected with Leica. Sorry you missed your unit.
Superlative video!!! I received my chrome steel rim yesterday. Use both in good health! Seriously good advice about using the limited edition products! Thank you, for all your efforts.
Many thanks, appreciate the kind words.
Thanks for the content to see and enjoy this rare lens. Is black anodized version lighter than silver chrome version? Distributor in my country told me that the black one is lighter than silver one, which means the material is different.
beautiful lens, thank you for your review.
Do the classic reissue lenses have modern optical mulitcoatings, or the original type of coatings, or no coatings at all? Nice review, by the way. Thank you.
Thanks for the positive feedback. On the classic lenses, Leica wants to keep the original characteristics of the lenses, means, they are optically equivalent to their legacy siblings.
Thank you for this video. Can you kindly confirm that both the Chrome SR and Black SR weigh the same? If they did then both are made of brass it seems.
I did not weigh them but when having both in my hands the weight feels kind of the same.
Nice video and review. I have never been a 35mm fan. I find the 28mm more my sweet spot. I carry a 28mm and 50mm most often. I keep trying to shoot my 35mm and never works for me. I am sure it is just the way I see as so many like 35mm.
Actually, I love this lens but nevertheless agree with you. 28mm is more a sweet spot for me than 35mm. Currently in NYC with a 28mm lens and love it!
I enjoyed very much this vidéo
Even I don t use a Leica camera.
Watching this vidéo I dream that
One day may be I Will get a Leica
M 11 with a very rare 35 mm....
One question... how did you get
This Lens? So rare... and did you
Use it outside your studio?
You can do it! And thanks for your nice comment, much appreciated. How I got the lens? Excellent connections to Leica :)
How many times do you celebrate Christmas in a year 😂🎉
Beautiful lens.
Since you are not alowed to sell it you can always GIVE it to me, and still be legal hehehe.
Enjoy your purchase.
Great weekend 😊
You clearly are the only candidate for me to give away that lens :) Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a great Sunday!
I have not found a shop in the Netherlands that sells this lens...by invitation only?
Leicastore
They are only sold in Leica Stores, you will need to convince the staff there to sell it to you because demand is huge.
Rare. It doesn’t matter when Math gets it all for us to see! Thank you!
I do my best to show the community the newest Leica gear :) Thanks!
Mine lens cap is not loose like yours on the silver version.
I wonder how many seconds it took to sell out. 200 seconds? Less? I think it is great that Leica is doing the no sell three year agreement. Weeds out he lens scalpers & gives the Leica society members a fair chance to own. (at least the first 200) Has the name Lens Scalpers ever been used before?
Sold out: highly likely :)
@@mathphotographer Even thow I don't actually know, I would place a bet on it if they offered betting on it in Vegas! And I don't gamble!
on the chinese second hand market, there was a quite a few offerings for the black steel rim, already asking for double and tripple the price
Tks for the review👍..3x the price of the silver edition with some improvements who should have been available at day one 😂 this limited edition is a non sense IMHO
Looks like Voigtlander lens
Its a classy lens and yes, improved to the chrome version. The demand is so high the lens is likely sold out by now :)
The lens is awesome. The return of the first lens.
Can I use the photos and videos?
Have a good day!!
I prefer the chrome one
Rarity is gold. Why not in black paint to add value?
:)
i dont think the original was available in black paint, thats why its an re-issue, just like the old one
The price is 😂 absolutely crazy. Better buy the chrome version
Collectors value comes from high demand and short supply ... the lens is likely sold out by now :)
Great lenses. But in the video there is almost no difference between optics and photography.
Anodized has no collector value (except for Leica Fans who collect everything anyway) . It should have been brass black paint
I wasn’t aware that only lenses made from brass had collector value, how did you derive this narrative
It is made of brass
Collector value is essentially driven by demand plus limited supply and this lens is highly demanded but exists only in 200 units. Likely sold out by now :)
@@albertmeyer8983 sais who? Because Leica sais "anodized". You cannot anodized brass
@@ronaldsand3000 you are right of course, but black anodized aluminium is nothing special, and geht's pretty ugly with time. Black paint is more difficult to make and makes a nice patina
in my contract it says 2 years
you must have at lease 25% shares at leica, as you just get everything. no matter how rare.
Lol - I would love to buy Leica shares but you will not be able to purchase them :) I have a couple of old Leica shares (real paper back then) on my wall in the studio background, if you look carefully you will spot them in the videos. But Leica shares have been suspended from public trading many years ago :)
he surely has a good relationship with his local leica store
