  • Learn Book Binding and How to Make a Book. This beautiful book with a brass etched Raven and black pages was made for a friend in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Using some sort of twine or thin rope bands is a lot better imo than leather strips because it's better wearing where the signature is sewn to it, and because you can unravel and spread out the ends of the strands which makes it adhere to the boards better. Just a tip.

    I enjoy book binding projects, and have made several. I never thought of doing black on black. It looks fantastic! I see a new book project in my future. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I find that if I score the edge of signatures with either an emery-board of fine-grade sandpaper, the glue binds the pages to the cover stronger, Just enough to rough up the edges.

    Outstanding and educational as usual 100% full disclosure with the financial side of things, I do like your attitude and no fcukin around way you go about things. Your honesty is appreciated. A tip for you with the jigsaw if you stick a small strip of decorator's tape over the front of the cutout on the skid and mark it in line with the blade it helps hold a line when cutting. You are pretty good with the saw but it's always good to have another line to follow. I always had the blade wander on me at first I thought it was just the drugs and alcohol but it's apparently an issue you can get when using a smaller blade. You probably know this but I thought I would throw it in anyway. All the best from Scotland

      Thanks for the kind words. Great tip on the jigsaw, we'll see if my brain remembers it. I did take it over to the belt sander for some help afterwards.

      @Dark Horse Workshop to be honest you do have a pretty straight eye so you might not get any benefit from it. Just watched the etching show you made and I was surprised by the materials needed to achieve a good result, I thought you would have needed all sorts of crazy siht to get the result. I mentioned before that I'm going through your back catalogue of shows so I'm learning a lot from your stuff so thank you for your generosity with your time and talents. My shoulder surgery has delayed everything for me but hopefully, I will start drawing next week so I will be paying attention to your lessons on that. I might upload the drawings and plans on my RUclips channel and if someone can learn from my mistakes I will be partly paying forward a fraction of what I've learned from you. I'm not kissing your erse I'm just being honest. And I will happily help with Scottish pronunciation if required as It can get tricky. Anyway, thanks again.

    man this video is so thirsty for monetization and engagement. well i guess your getting it, but its to say it's too much for me. less than 3 minutes in and its all you wanting something from me. like i get it, but its too needy too soon.

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  4 месяца назад

      I'm not needy really my videos are directly to advertise the patterns and art that I sell, and my other sources of income. If they were just ... free... there would be no videos.
