Behavioral practitioners are distinguished by their relative lack of concern with a client’s internal mental processes and their focus on physical, observable, “objective” behavior. Behavioral practice is also distinguished by a commitment to the principles of the traditional “scientific method” for helping clients to eliminate unwanted behaviors or acquire desired behaviors.
