Thanks for another great EV reveiw Chris. A good car, but let down by not having adaptive cruise control. 500 kms real world driving range is impressive!
This is the perfect vehicle for an UBER or taxi Driver. Cheap to buy, cheap to operate, cheap to maintain, large enough to carry luggage and appears to have and interior that can have spills cleaned with a wet cloth. You could really get a jump on the completion.
Yeah, about that free charging, please don’t promote, otherwise we will have more envy! Great video and may you win the high court challenge. Best of luck
Great video Chris. Looks like a very basic but capable EV built for a specific purpose as Taxi like you mentioned but also a value workhorse. Will be interesting to see the resale value given the very limited number of these bought into Oz.
Special import, didn't have to meet ADR for Australia... which come to think of it, cruise control wouldn't be standard anyway. I guess its a primarily a taxi OS, so they don't want one in it?
hi nice car, nice price, nice video, hummm, when its charging, in house, at night, its possible to limit the charge, for a example, to 80 per cent???? regards.
I don't think they are not bringing anyone into Australia Chris, it's old technology and built on an Ice platform. All future BYD vehicles for Australia will be built on the dedicated 3.0 BYD EV platform.
LOL! Well you're right about that. Personally, I don't mind not having a spare tyre. Fingers crossed, last one occurred about a decade ago. If I did carry one, that would have been a lot of wasted energy transporting something for the "just in case situation".
One common complaint is that EVs are too expensive but at this price, at least one third of the cars sold in Australia are more expensive.

LOOKING GOOD Chris____the BYD is pretty good too! Thx for the review and for sharing!

Indeed, the streets of Shenzhen, China, are full of E6 taxis
This is use as taxi in HK and Singapore, the 1st gen and the 2nd gen of e6
This is designed for taxi, that is by is low cost and for work horse
Thanks Chris. On their website they only advertise the Atto3 - slightly less range, same price but oodles of extras.
Because all the E6 were already sold out since last year !!!!! Only 45 were shipped to Australia

wahoo finally a spare wheel !!!
Where is this for sale? I can't find it anywhere!
The owner did it under the special import scheme. #wouldn’trecommend
It's a taxi, it's supposed to be generic, simplistic and utilitarian. Perfect for the role...
No cruise control? thats very disappointing.
I use cruise control all the time for 60 km/hr speed limit
why doesn't it have cruise control and auto hold? did they get cut ob the way to australia? weird.

@@chrisvanderstock all e6 comes with cruise control standard spec in china.
Is there a place where we can go to see the free charges for the south Easter suburbs of melb?
Not sure what you mean, sorry
@@chrisvanderstock that’s okay charge fox is a free charge network within Melbourne.
Can the rear seats able to recline
hi nice car, nice price, nice video, hummm, when its charging, in house, at night, its possible to limit the charge, for a example, to 80 per cent???? regards.
Yes it can! Unlike my MG ZS EV... LOL
I notice no split rear seat. So - does the rear seat fold down at all?
Nope, stuck in place!
This car is slowly gaining popularity in other countries too like in Nepal.

Yeah, just these 15 examples as they don't have to do local testing and ANCAP rating. EV Direct is going with the BYD Atto 3 instead.
Great affordable upgrade family car, just genius. Well done BYD.
Yes fab , look at this ruclips.net/video/zrNLz2tX3ys/видео.html
No cruise and noisy cabin is definitely a deal breaker. Damn it 🙄
Singapore is using this BYD e6 as taxis.
Do the seats fold down, what was the space like if they do ?
Nope fixed
Thanks Chris
No cruise control that’s bad !
Not sure if atto3 has it
Looks like it would be a perfect taxi
Thanks
But you can’t buy one. That price was for the 15 or so that Evdirect brought in.
Having that single fixed rear seat is an epic fail for this car in AU/NZ market. Renders that form factor pointless.
ruclips.net/video/zrNLz2tX3ys/видео.html Chinese EV's are deadly !
Is ev direct still going to distribute these or have they another electric MPV planned or for that matter the T3 van they were talking about
Thanks
I'm not sure sorry - they were brought in via the special import scheme. I'll ask the owner how he got it and come back to you.
Would also be very interested in the back up, have an ATTO 3 on order but not impressed with the MyCar tie up. Keep up the videos, thanks Rogeros.
Android? Which version?

nice ev👍👍👍👍
Awesome 👍🏼
If only you could buy one…
A physical fan and air con control is safer.
3000 cycles is more like 30+ years. Who drives over a million km in 10 years lol?
Dude has clearly never used a run-flat tire kit.
LOL! Well you're right about that. Personally, I don't mind not having a spare tyre. Fingers crossed, last one occurred about a decade ago. If I did carry one, that would have been a lot of wasted energy transporting something for the "just in case situation".
If not available in Australia, why review it?
The importer was testing the waters, so might in the future.
Buy Tesla, not communist cars !
its ugly...i want their Dolphin car
Maybe it's because this is a people mover/MPV so you don't want it
Aussie dollars.
You're a bit precious about things like radar cruise control etc aren't you.
hey Chris can a 6 ft person sleep in this
Definitely not. Rear seats don't fold down.
@@chrisvanderstock thats insanity hey. the whole point of a wagon is its universality hopefully byd get that sorted b4 they land them in oz
@@flamingstag2381 BYD's Atto 3 seats do fold down but I'm not sure if it would be six foot tho.
@@songforguy1 thank you that regains my interest
Its a cheap good car omg
China alway best 'cheap
