"we're like children in slums making mud pies..and the mud pies make us happy..and god says 'i want to take you on a vacation to the sea'..and we say, 'but i'd have to leave my mud pies!'" this was a very powerful sermon that i am grateful for and needed to hear. thank you pastor simpson.
I'm greatly shaken by this message on being slothful. May God forgive me and also help me to change
I certainly appreciate this powerful message. Thank you for presenting it on RUclips.
Good message! It is SOOO important to keep focused on the spiritual life, though. Many, many people work so hard at busywork, or a job or even church work to actually avoid the really important "work" of spiritual growth. Being "busy" and even being active and working, being diligent -- these are not the antidote to spiritual sloth. They can actually be a blind that lets people get praise of people while falling more into the ways of the world, the flesh and the devil. It truly does take surrender to Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Then the important work begins...and that is done by getting to know the Word of God and following wherever God leads.
I needed to hear this sermon!! Thank you. God bless.
Wow so convicting, I don’t want to take my salvation for granted.
This is what the Spirit has been telling me for years and thank God a pastor speaking it! Thank you!
Thank you for this 🙌🙏🌹 will order the book and just remind myself of those two words every day 🤗 I now hear the words "gluttonydemon riding on a horse named sugar" e everytime I want to "cheat" from my eating goals I havd put up after finding your video about gluttony a few week backs, it has helped me soo much!
This is such ❤❤ a good word and very convicting

Great sermon, love it and need this but ….. I don’t like to be yelled at. But I do plan on watching more 😁
Hi @marygarrett, try watching a few of Pastor Brooks' more recent sermons!
I like the jokes at the beginning.
What if each time you’ve put a lot of effort, things went very south? I almost died because of a strong headache when I was doing everything that scientists and the Bible say to be right, except, I wasn’t doing things with the Holy Spirit at all times. I did things without wanting to do them, a lot, because I believed it was the right thing to do. So yes, we must put effort, but with The Holy Spirit, because effort with the adversary leads to destruction. After many years I still haven’t found my balance, I wish I could do everything perfectly all the time, put effort all the time so to do everything as asked in the Bible, yet it seems I can’t. Prayers are welcome.
Good teaching.
excellent, I wish I could go to this church
So good. Thank you!
Thanks!
Where are the other parts of this teaching?

This message hurts
What an amazing series! Thank you! 🙏🏻 ❤
Edit: one thing…When Jesus preached he didn’t yell. The only thing that bothers me is passion gets confused with anger and yelling when preaching. Jesus had passion but didn’t yell. There is no reason to tell when speaking the truth. Just my opinion❤
Um…..he probably did. He was speaking to thousands of people at a time, at times.
