Thank you for the video, Pulkit ji. A teeny tiny complaint..why we say Ganges and follow the western. I think we should say it in our way and make these people aware of right pronunciation. In Western countries, they make it a point to say anybody or everybody's name as it should be.
Thank you for the video. I do not know the tithi or day on which I should worship or do puja for my departed ones. And how to do the shradh pooja. Its been 10 years and more since they passed away.
@@kriti383 To find find the tithi wont be hard. Any pundit can help you out. Else do their shradh on the last day of sarva pitra amavasya. Feed some poor children and animals or do any other good karma in their name. Cow, dog, ants, crows can be fed. For exact puja try to make a trip to shantikunj. That puja of shradh tarpan pind daan needs to be done only once.
“When the souls leaves the physical body, it uses the materials that are offered during the shradh ceremony to construct its subtle body, to make the head, torso, the head, the eyes, hands, feet, etc” Does this mean humans who died as Christians or Muslims or any non-Hindu religion end up without a subtle body? How liberating for them!
@@sharmilakalain7549 anyone that thinks souls from Hindus are at an advantage due to these rituals is being ridiculous. All these rituals are for the benefit of those who’ve been left behind. It gives them solace and closure at a difficult time in their lives.
@@fewristics As you will know advaita vedantic sages regard all religions as true especially islam and christianity. Still it is a truth when we say that the depth of spiritual knowledge in Hinduism is far superior to Western religions simply because we have had the benefit of having numerous God-realized sages being born in India. Just as westerners have a greater depth of scientific knowledge - much of the technology we use has been discovered by them (compared to us); similarly we have greater depth of spiritual knowledge. So while we must value their traditions we must not pull ours down to equalize unnecessarily. Shradh ceremony is not just to pacify the survivors. It does help the departed souls as Swami Sivananda has explained.
@@Spiritualbee appreciate you taking the time to clarify your beliefs and point of view. Nowadays most lay people are not capable of performing the ceremonies themselves, so they end up hiring priests to do it on their behalf. Which means those with the wherewithal to carry out the Shradh ceremony are the ones that can provide more benefits to the departed. That’s something hard for me to digest. I imagine that the benefit for the departed soul comes from the thoughts, well wishes and devotion offered, rather than the specifics of the ceremonies themselves. But like all things spiritual, I have no way to verify that. Cheers.
@@fewristics The shradh-tarpan-pind daan ceremony has to be done only once after the death of person. You can repeat it in each subsequent year but that is not necessary. A priest is certainly needed as a guide. You wont know how to do it yourself. But outsourcing the whole work to a website introduces commercialism into religion and promotes the superstitious belief that just by throwing some money and getting a puja done in Haridwar while we enjoy at a mall in mumbai, our father/mother will feel at peace. We should do the rituals ourselves (aided by a priest). There are many websites that say pay rs. 5000 to us and we will do puja to remove pitru dosha on your behalf...it is this kind of commercialization that should be avoided and some genuine seva done on behalf of the departed. The cremation and after death rituals too are important. They do help the departed soul acclimitize to a new enviornment (subtle physical in Sri Aurobindo's terminology) in which the physical body has dropped off. I am sure our shastras and swami sivananda don't speak on belief but on certain subtle truths they observed about the after death process. Hence these recommendations.

Why Spirit of the Dead Person Needs Offering of Food And Water. --------------------- According to Garuda Purana - Like the human fetus in the womb of the mother needs nourishment for its proper growth so, in the same way, the Spirit of the recently dead person will only take complete shape if only its living family members offer nourishment in the form of food and water. Initially, it takes on the form of a Pinda (A Ball), when the family member provides him with a rice ball made from cooked rice, from then onward each day when this Rice Ball is offered then from Head to Toe the whole Astral/Subtle Body is formed. When this entire body comes into existence on Astral Plane then only, when further rice balls, when offered then the Spirit begins to eat ( since they have a body made of three subtle elements ie. fire, air and the akasha - space, so these Spirits only take in the essence of the offered through the sense of smell) In literature and the movies, the Spirits are shown with deformed bodies/incomplete bodies/ dark- shadow bodies and with scary faces, that is because these beings never received any nourishment from their living family members. The same thing we also see during the Halloween festival when children dress up in scary costumes, this thing is particularly indicative of how the dead spirits are living or existing on other planes without any happiness. In Tibet, they have a very Tantric method of feeding the Spirits of the Dead - called Sky Burial. In this Crushed body parts are mixed with BARLEY flour and then given the shape of a ball and these balls are offered to vultures who hover around. It is believed that the spirit of the dead person/ancestors takes on the form of the vulture to partake the offering. In India, the worship of the Ancestors takes place only after the Summer Solstice - when the Sun moves towards the South. According to the scriptures, the Abode of Lord Yama (Lord of Death) is in the direction of the South. Where his palace is on the Astral Plane

Don't be ridiculous. As was said they draw from nature.

How many people can go there very good of the ashram I think they should do on line ceremony with the yajmaan
After it leaves a physical body, how long does it usually take for a subtle body to reincarnate as another physical being?

You need to ask the dead.
