So glad I grew up with the cube and wii back when Nintendo was just killing it with their console exclusives. Here's to hoping the switch doesn't wind up like the wiiu.
Best console of all time is snes...not only cause of the library but cause it was like nothing before...now you 've seen it all back then before the snes gaming was literally shit! Just my opinion
Timesplitters 2 is probably the best fps I have ever played. It has over 200 characters to play as, lots of weapons and the easiest map making system of any game. If yoy like Goldeneye you will love Timesplitters 2. Such a great hidden gem.

Tales of Symphonia is an absolute gem for the gamecube. They just re-released the HD version for PS3 which any player whose owned the game could easily recommend. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance was also phenomenal but I'm not sure if it's a HIDDEN Gem as it did get some attention unlike Symphonia.

Mad respect for putting Lost Kingdoms 1 & 2 on your list, guys. Those games were a huge part of my childhood, and I would love to find more games with their look and feel, if not also their gameplay.
I remember playing both Lost Kingdoms when they came out 12 years ago, amazed by how innovative and fun they were. Fast forward to the present and I think the Dark Souls games are some of the best games ever made, and now you tell me they were both made by From Software?! Also, Eternal Darkness, Starfox Assault and Kirby Air Ride all kick ass. Star Fox Assault was such an awesome game. The arwing missions were definetly the best but the foot combat wasn't bad. You also should've mentioned the multiplayer in that game, which as amazing, the best thing about that game IMO.
the last game i played on gamecube was zelda tp ... i enjoyed my childhood years with this console, i bought this console when i was 11 super mario sunshine, zelda windwaker, zelda ocarina of time collection, perfect dark, metroid prime,f zero x ,prince of persia, resident evil, and the last game zelda twilight princess,i was 17 years old it has been when the nintendo wii came out... i always been a nintendo fan, the years that everyone bought the playstation 2 i kept my tradition to be a nintendo fan..
Got into hardcore collecting recently....gamecube has caught my eye and I told my wife I wanted to buy one...My wife tells me her and her brother owned one when they were young and they still have it packed away...I couldnt believe it. Came home and had a Gamecube, Gameboy Player and All the Great exclusives...
It's a game console dude. Not a DVD player. I mean how can you say with a straight face, if you really love video games, that you were disappointed that the Gamecube couldn't play DVD's? Really? Nintendo knew what was up, and they still do. Buy a DVD player.
Justin Dloski The point is...back when DVD players were new and expensive, it was a potential deterrent. I know several people who bought the PS2 because it would do both.
actually it was a good selling point, a lot of kids/teenagers that could not afford ps2, got one because they talked their parents into getting one because family needed a dvd player, and dvd players were 200 and more dollars at that time
Gamecube is (in my opinion) the best console ever. Great games, amazing controller. The design isn't the best looking but it is very easy to bring it with you or store it anywhere and the GameCube can take a beating. It didn't have a dvd-player but I mean.. Who cares? It's not a dvd, it's a video game system! The discs I must admit are a bit awkward as they are so small but it's not really a bad thing.
While the system is rock solid, small discs not a problem, and the controller is unique enough to itself (perfect for 1st party stuff like Luigi's Mansion, etc)... the lack of quantity makes it nowhere close to powerhouses like the PS1 and PS2. Even the SNES has more depth and a much more classic library.
all that taken into account doesnt make it the best then. I would say in terms of what it offers, the dreamcast was the best. It popularized internet console gaming, great arcade ports, even had 480p output etc. The best gaming platform console in general would have to be the ps2, had memory cards for saves so even if disc is lost or scratched get another and youre god to go, played dvds etc. The most fun console is possible snes or ps1. The most advanced at the time in a generation of consoles would be n64 i guess. The most attractive design, possibly the sega genesis or xbox 360. Best innovation moving forwards onto another gen, perhaps ps3. Best use of medium, blu ray and the ps3 again. i mean its diverse, idk if nyone can truly pick one.
im4everskilled one of my favorite things about the gamecube was how much abuse it really can take. it plays scratched games it really shouldn't be able to play. i still have my original and it works like new. and i bought it when it first came out.
I had Billy Hatcher! I forgot all about it. That game became progressively harder and harder. DK Jungle Beat, although short, my cousin and I frequently re-played it because is was so fun. I *loved* StarFox Assault. I also was skeptical about StarFox Adventures until I played it. I also loved Adventures but felt that it was too short. The rest I don't know or haven't played, or didn't wow me (Kirby Air Ride).
My favorite Gamecube games are: Mortal Kombat (Deception, Deadly Alliance), James Bond (Everything or Nothing, Nightfire, Agent Under Fire), Resident Evil (2, 3, 4, Zero, Remake, Code Veronica X), Prince of Persia trilogy, Soul Calibur 2, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, The Haunted Mansion, Largo Winch: Empire Under Threat, Mission: Impossible - Operation Surma, Minority Report: Everybody Runs, Robocop, Animal Crossing
Great list, the GameCube is by far my favorite console, the games I grew up with were: Smash Melee (that's a given), Mario Kart Double Dash, Luigi's Mansion, Sonic Adventure 2, Zelda Wind Waker, Zelda Twilight Princess, and Soul Calibur 2. Anyone want to share their list ? :)
For sure melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Heroes, Mario Kart, Kirby Air Ride were ones I played all the time as a kid.
+Kalashnikov Had you been born 10 years earlier, I am very confident you would, like me, believe that the SNES is the best of all time- but we are products of our environment; I think your list is strong but there where several great titles that you left out: Metriod Prime, Eternal Darkness, Skies of Arcadia remake, Ikaruga!, Wario World (gotta love treasure on the Gamecube), Kirby Air Ride, Metal Gear Solid Remake, and last but not least: Pikmin! Peace.
The smaller discs were fantastic. Unlike other consoles at the time, it was extremely hard to pirate these games. In fact, I've never found a pirated gamecube game. Can't say the same for every other console (ahem)
I know this comment is old, but they existed. You could increase the the laser voltage by tweaking the potentiometer of the GC to read burned discs, and you could use miniDVDs or take off the top and use regular size DVDs.
I was truly not expecting Lost Kingdoms to be mentioned. THat was one of my first gamecube games that my mom bought. I had no idea waht it was, went in blind, was one of my favourite of the early lot I had.
So I've just now discovered your channel, and I love it! Just wanted to say since comments were disabled on the PlayStation list video that I agree entirely with it. It was like you were literally pulling games off of my shelf and talking about them. Love this one too!
Yay, they mentioned Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2! Those are two of my most favorite games : 3 Anyone with a gamecube who likes simple action adventure RPGs totally needs to try those out
Moogi Beans I remember putting the work in for the Emperor (I think that's what he was called) card. It frustrated my bro to no end because one hit destroyed every card of a single color in your deck.
Just dicovered this channel. Metal Jesus is such a likeable guy, he reminds me a lot to a friend I had back in high school. Keep up the good work man. I really like your videos.
I stumbled upon this video kinda by surprise, and in it I see lost kingdoms. A game I played as a child and recently have tried to find. I couldn't remember the name and when I tried to describe it to my friends they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally, after all these years! Thanks alot.
Fun fact: Starfox Adventures originally wasn't a Starfox game at all, during development it was called Dinosaur Planet and starred Crystal as the main character. This before Nintendo probably realized the Jurassic Park-induced dinosaurs craze of the 1990s was over and done with and the way they found to sell the game was giving it a Starfox paintjob.
Star fox adventures was the first star fox game I played and enjoyed. But looking back at the old games I can see it was way diffrent that the original games.
Who's here in 2023?! 😎 How did anyone not notice that near the end of the video @ 11:21, he says these games are "Wii hidden gems". 🤣😂 I know what he meant but it's still funny. Great video though! 🤜🤛
the spongebob movie game had some great fan service. Gotta love patrick swinging on the light bulb switch in the temple lava level toward the end of the game decked out in full costume too!
I miss the times when nintendo was a power house when it came to graphics. They need to get back to it and fight back kicking xbox and sonys a** in that aspect, just for the kicks.
Not interested in any of those games, but I am amazed by how much I just liked the video :D! 1. You fulfilled the promise of "hidden gems" - it was not clickbait. 2. You made clear to me what those games are about with just a few words and videos. I really don't know how you did it ;D!
I'm curious about Starfox Adventures, the only bad I hear about it is that it isn't like the other games, but as someone who has never played them is that really a problem?
Since you mentioned Star Fox Adventures on this list along with Assault, I really recommend that you should try out Adventures again. Sure, it was a different game from 64 and Assault, but it is far from being considered a bad game. It had a good story, fun gameplay, and most importantly, had some of the absolute BEST graphics and music on the GameCube, especially since it came out in 2002. While you may like Assault more, I seriously think you should give Adventures another shot and look at it for what it did, rather than for what it could've been.
The Nintendo GameCube is the number one best video game console ever. Why is it the best? Because of it's Game Boy Player accessory! With the Game Boy Player, you can play your Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games on your television via the GameCube.
never thought gamecube would be that awesome it's offered very advanced 3d graphics rather than those polygonal 3d initials that looked simple as in nintendo 64 or saturn and even playstation one .. wow man great episode ..
GameDjeenie people were expecting a traditional sequel. Quickly judged it because they were disappointed on how it played. If they played it already knowing the genre it's under, or if you swap out the characters and take off the name Star Fox, it would be recognized as a great game. But because it said "Star Fox" there was a certain expectation.
I have one, though it is a bit of a cop out as it is not an actual original game, and that is the Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition. I have a copy of this game and love it. It has the original Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. So it has some of the most popular Zelda games all on one disk.
I know you talked a little bit about Chaos Field and Ikaruga in this series, but I was hoping maybe you'd do like a top 20 shmups for the Gamecube. I love your videos!
Why people collect for the Gamecube way later ??? People needed to buy it back in 2001-2006 lol. I always found that "kiddy-looking" argument ridiculous... Are you playing with your console or you buy it to watch it 24/7 ? The Gamecube had an awesome controller (Dat Wavebird O_O), Great library WITH third parties, Excellent graphics... All things people today are blaming the WiiU is lacking... Hypocrisy much ?... I'm glad Nintendo kept their focus on GAMES on a GAME console...The DVD player in the PS2 was causing a lot of problems to the console... An electronic company that does unreliable consoles (PS1, PS2) is laughable... People (even some people I know) needed to buy a second and even a third PS2... No wonder the sales were sky-rocketing... Don't get me wrong, I still think PS1 and PS2 are awesome consoles.
I was a playstation guy back then. I did like the gamecube also, but it did cost alot for games back then brand spanking new. So thats why Im going after them now.
there is a lot of sexual tension between Metal Jesus and Reggie. MJ is totally flirting with him and it disturbs me. I thought this was a GameCube review not a "check out MJ totally dig on this black guy" video.
I have to say Metal Jesus, you're pretty much the only game reviewer on RUclips that I like. Most of them are annoying kids, but your reviews actually had research and reasoning behind them, and you seem like an all round cool dude. Thank you for these videos man. :D
Average reviewer: "UKAY, GUIS. I HAV A WEVIEW 4 U 2DAY ON DA GAME, CAW OF DOODY, MODAN WAHFAH 4." MetalJesus: "Okay, so there were some pretty good games for this console, many of which never saw the light of day for many."
Why Gamers back in the day did NOT fancy the GameCube really fkn baffles me ... the N64 was fkn awesome ,it had some of the most amazing games of all-time ..so i cud not wait to get my hands on the Nintendo next gen console & i was not disappointed
yup me too, i was so disappointed at gamecube when i bought it. controller was horrible, and wasnt designed for fighting games, and no good fighting games were released on GC either while ps2 had tekken3, MK, street fighter, WWF, ect...
Mr. Perfect No good fighting games? Ummm there was this little game called Super Smash Bros Melee... Also a solid version of Soul Calibur 2, with the best console-exclusive character in Link (much better than Spawn and Heihachi were). Then there were the exclusive Naruto fighting games that were highly praised in their time. Also, both Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, and Deception, were released on GameCube. Any Street Fighter games on PS2 that weren't simply re-releases of the good 2D games, were terrible and have never been spoken about since. And to this day no wrestling games (especially those for PS2) can compare to the N64 wrestling games made by THQ. Oh, and THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLER IS NEARLY PERFECT. That is all.
That pisses me off how Gamecube was struggling against the other two consoles. I can understand the PS2 since it's the console with the longest lifespan and honestly it has great games but the X Box? It was a brand new thing at the time. I am surprised that wasn't the console that was struggling. With that said, the Gamecube was fucking awesome and it had great titles. Too bad I didn't explore and find that many hidden gems.
Gamecube had a shitty selection of games, only 25 worth getting. Halo 1 was revolutionary at the time and blew people's minds. Halo 3 fps online multiplayer blew people's minds again, to this day its impact is still going, looking at 'Rust' and 'Fortnite'. DVD's to watch movies was the standard, hard to get quality pirated copies during this time period of the internet, even music was hard to pirate as shit quality. Netflix was almost non-existant. So a DVD player was a really attractive selling point, and it also prevented people from having to buy 2 pieces of electronics (console + dvd player).
@@ChescoYT I know this was 7 months ago but you're extremely ignorant on the games with the system. Also remember some of these were originally exclusive to the gamecube then later came out for ps2. So here we go 1 super mario sunshine 2 melee 3 Metroid prime 4 Metroid prime 2 5 Mario Kart double dash 6 windwaker 7 twilight princess ( was originally being made for gamecube then added motion controls for wii so it could be a launch title ) 8 Zelda collection ( not native gamecube games but at the time we're the definitive edition for them ) 9 animal crossing 10 harvest moon a wonderful life 11 harvest moon magical melody 12 fire emblem path of radiance 13 f-zero gx 14 chibirobo 15 skys of Arcadia ( for a while was the only way to play it if you didn't have a dreamcast ) 16 pikmin 17 pikmin 2 18 tales of symphonia 19 resident evil remake 20 resident evil zero 21 luigis mansion 22 Mario party 6/7 23 super mario strikers 24 Mario toadstool golf 25 eternal darkness 26 geist 27 paper Mario thousand year door 28 super monkey ball 29 super monkey ball 2 30 starfox adventures 31 starfox assualt 32 viewtiful joe 33 resident evil 4 34 kirby airride 35 baiten kaitos 36 Pokemon colosseum 37 sonic adventure 2 battle 38 ikaruga 39 final fantasy crystal chronicles 40 wario world 41 warrior ware Inc 42 rogue squadron 2 43 legend of Zelda four swords 44 metal gear solid the twin snakes ( was the definitive edition of metal gear solid for some time ) 45 bomberman generations 46 donky kong jungle beat 47 Mario power tennis 48 wave Race blue storm 49 wwe day of reckoning 50 the Simpson's hit and run I could keep going and probably make to a 100 games that you could own for your gamecube that were either exclusives or were timed exclusives for the console or being the definitive edition of said game at the time. Gamecube easily has the best first party exclusives of any console to-date and a stellar line up of third party exclusives too. The gamecube was the first console on the chipset thst would later be used for the 360, ps3 and wii. The gamecube was more powerful than a ps2 but only weaker in raw power to the Xbox. I think all three of the consoles of that generation are must owns since they all offer amazing exclusives and mastery of 3d graphics compared to the previous generation. Now you may not like all the games I listed but they're all objectively good to even great games but to say it only has 15 games is a crime and shows that you really didn't play the system.
@@ChescoYT Honestly I can't really think of many must-plays for the original xbox. Other than the 2 halo games, fable and knights of the old republic nothing really stands out. Gamecube has dozens of games that hold up to this day
ExactEmphasis Not to mention, most Xbox games are backwards compatible at this point, so as long as you own an Xbox One or Xbox 360, there’s really no point in owning an original Xbox
Kirby Air Ride was one of my favorite games as a kid hahaha. I would mainly play the city trial with friends and take the time limit off, and we would spend hours making up where our bases were. And whoever could get to a ship in the underground parking space would be able to keep it and bring it to their base. all of the vehicles have really unique effects to them and handle differently and it was tons of fun for 4 kids to just ride them around a city together exploring the whole city area (which actually has quite a few little secrets to uncover). Definately a gamecube hidden gem.
Another super cool aspect of it that i forgot to mention was that throughout the racing games "campaign" you would collect these pieces to the legendary ships, one of them was crazy fast and had tons of strength and the other was very elegant and could fly for a super long time, and when you got those ships they actually would become available in the city trial parking garage. (which usually caused some anger and salt because there was only 2 that we knew of and 4 people playing hahaha) Man i really need to dig the game up and play it with my brother or something.
lol at the DVD player missing being a dealbreaker even though you already had at minimum 2 anyways (PS2, Xbox). The thing that killed the Gamecube for me was the graphical disparity, awkward controller and lack of hardcore/mature titles. I eventually came around too though after I bought my PS2.
Lol awkward controller? It's probably easily the best controller ever. Bad graphics? Another weird one, considering many GC games look much better than other games at the time.
I used to have both lost kingdoms and never knew it was by Fromsoft, and here I am now a fan of the souls series from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls 2. Thanks for the vid.
I am beyond happy that you mentioned Lost Kingdoms 1 & 2. Those were, perhaps, the greatest games I have ever played in terms of atmosphere and mood. Maybe they arrived at that sweet spot in my childhood where any neat game could be magical, but damn, they were wonderful games to play. Great music, interesting concepts, unique artwork...they were simply captivating.
I love your stuff, man. You're very genuine and down-to-earth, add personality to your videos, and give good information and seem very knowledgeable on video games. Subscribed.

I love how the conversation about physical media a decade ago revolved around how much room there was for artwork on a disc

Marcuss2 It was a gamecube exclusive for almost a year. It still counts as a hidden gem to me. It didn't get nearly as much attention as it deserved.
TheMindfulOne wasnt it game of the year? it didnt go under the radar trust me
Chamar L but he included kirby's air ride on here, which has 'best seller' right on the cover
Not hidden?
I loved teen titans as a kid! This game was amazing

I really liked Star Fox Adventures, I don't get why it's so hated :(. I liked it better than Assault.
Because it was not a StarFox style game basically.
I hate it THIIIIIIIIIIIIS much.
Oh, and Tricky.
Basically the whole thing just kinda feels like they never got around to putting the final polish on. What's there is still good, but unnessicarily grating in places.
I agree. I played it in my dorm at college, and it was certainly a fond memory sandwiched in between all the shenanigans of college life.
Star fox was an on rail aerial combat game with branching paths before that. That's why people hated it.
dave rdz because it's not a Star Fox game. Good game, piiiiiiss poor Star Fox game.
Kirby Air ride was a game I played for hours with my brother! I can't listen to the music without crying!
Apart from the Gameboy Advance, this was my first legit console. Before, I had some plug and play systems.
Viggo P Like a handheld? Or is it a screen with a controller, kind of like the Dreamcast?
+Gameplayer 119 neither it plug into the tv and it has a few games in it and the controller is the console itself
Andrew Van Oh, that is interesting. Never saw or heard of one.
How the actual fuck have you never seen one? Look up Jontron's Plug and Play systems video.
Gameplayer 119 they're everywhere really, I remember the sponge Bob one where his nose was the joystick, squidward would've fit better imho
A GameCube and 10 games for $25!? I should’ve been collecting back in 2013
5:33 Bu-Bu-But... I thought Nintendo was always the same since the 80's. lmao
PS: I think we look like a "dork" with any Video Games to be honest. Personnally, I don't care, I'm over 30 and In no way I'm getting rid of my collection of classic games. I'll look like a dork until the end lol.
I just bought a game cube.
GameDjeenie really? Nintendo is the only company that goes out on a limb with each system, whoever said that is worse than a dork.

FINALLY someone talking about lostkingdoms!!! one of my favorite games EVER!!!
Star Fox Assault was such an awesome game. The arwing missions were definetly the best but the foot combat wasn't bad. You also should've mentioned the multiplayer in that game, which as amazing, the best thing about that game IMO.
Wii hidden gems?11:21
Hahaha,, we all make mistakes.
I love these gamecube videos. Love the cube
Probably been playing them on Wii.
Lmfao did you see reggies face when mj said wii hidden gems?
the last game i played on gamecube was zelda tp ... i enjoyed my childhood years with this console, i bought this console when i was 11 super mario sunshine, zelda windwaker, zelda ocarina of time collection, perfect dark, metroid prime,f zero x ,prince of persia, resident evil, and the last game zelda twilight princess,i was 17 years old it has been when the nintendo wii came out... i always been a nintendo fan, the years that everyone bought the playstation 2 i kept my tradition to be a nintendo fan..
Lost Kingdom was the biggest gem on gamecube bought it at a garage sale for 75 cents it was all I played after I bought it
+Manny Anaya Fuck yes, Lost kingdoms is fantastic
Yeah!
Got into hardcore collecting recently....gamecube has caught my eye and I told my wife I wanted to buy one...My wife tells me her and her brother owned one when they were young and they still have it packed away...I couldnt believe it. Came home and had a Gamecube, Gameboy Player and All the Great exclusives...
....Where is Custom Robo dude? That is a Hidden Gem no doubt.
it was so hidden they couldnt find it.
I'm looking at my copy right now... HNGG so true.
@@RedrunLoL Dude me and my brother did the same
It's a game console dude.
I understand that that is the point, however, my point is that true gamers didn't care about DVD players, trust me.
Justin Dloski Sure we did.
actually it was a good selling point, a lot of kids/teenagers that could not afford ps2, got one because they talked their parents into getting one because family needed a dvd player, and dvd players were 200 and more dollars at that time
Justin Dloski
but the guy had an XBOX and PS2, that's TWO DVD players, was a 3rd dvd player really necessary with the gcn? :P
you are pretty cool dude, i like your videos, finding out about alot of great games!
Eternal Darkness.
4 years ago, my older sister fought someone on Ebay to buy me this gem in time for Christmas. I'm never letting this game go.
I appreciate you so much Metal Jesus... you and your collection of awesome games and friends.
F Zero GX.
Without a doubt the best racing game ever. By far.
all that taken into account doesnt make it the best then.
When did Howard Stern start playing video games?
he looks more like johnny ramone than health conscious howard stern
JaxTwins hahaha
JaxTwins and the black dude looks like marselles Wallace!!
When Baba Booey got him SEGA channel, 1993?
CAMZAB i think that was a paid endorsement lol I remember sega channel. An amazing concept and precursor to the Xbox and Playstation gaming networks
11:20 Excuuuuuuse you? Lol
Who could blame you tho. I played mostly gamecube games on my wii, so its kind of hard NOT to see it as a Super Gamecube.
Kevin Porter
i just wish the gamecube was more successful
Kevin Porter
I've never played Super Mario Sunshine, is it any good ?
+Kalashnikov Had you been born 10 years earlier, I am very confident you would, like me, believe that the SNES is the best of all time- but we are products of our environment; I think your list is strong but there where several great titles that you left out: Metriod Prime, Eternal Darkness, Skies of Arcadia remake, Ikaruga!, Wario World (gotta love treasure on the Gamecube), Kirby Air Ride, Metal Gear Solid Remake, and last but not least: Pikmin! Peace.
+Kalashnikov easily my favorite Mario game! Super Mario world is another but that's for the snes.
Xenochip mod makes it easy to pirate. Not that Im complaining, but I like collecting the genuine product.
Oh thank fucking Christ someone other than me played Lost Kingdoms
commandervulkan I did too, amazing games especially the 2nd one
commandervulkan Lost Kingdoms was the first GC game I played back in the day. My dad randomly rented it for me and I had fun with it.
Amazing game, best start with 1, then 2 for the card transfer, sadly, my disk are all scrached, and the card transfer is nesesary for jack-o-lantern
I still need to get Star Fox Assault. I STILL have Teen Titans. That game was a lot of fun!
It's funny how 2 of this few so called "hidden gems" have a big yellow "Best Sellers" seal right on the front cover...
LOL
Just cause it's a best seller doesnt mean it's not a hidden gem now.
Me and my brother love and still play that game.
You should have mentioned Assault's multiplayer. Honestly, that's the only thing I like about it, but it is great.
Just dicovered this channel. Metal Jesus is such a likeable guy, he reminds me a lot to a friend I had back in high school. Keep up the good work man. I really like your videos.
I didn't even get passed the opening before I subbed, heck I didn't get TO the opening. I can tell I'm going to love your channel Metal Jesus.
11:20
some of the 'wii' hidden gems.
lol
Lmao
Wii lol
Haha to be fair, a Wii is just a super powered Gamecube
I HiGHLY! rec. Custom Robo if you havn't played it then look into it
xSAxJkkool i played it, still live and play it.
This is 2020 and me my brother dug up or GameCube to play this.
I stumbled upon this video kinda by surprise, and in it I see lost kingdoms. A game I played as a child and recently have tried to find. I couldn't remember the name and when I tried to describe it to my friends they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally, after all these years! Thanks alot.
Great episode Jason, enjoying your early episodes. I still play GameCube original hardware weekly.
GOTCHA FORCE
+Toma D. Large SO MUCH THIS, MY FAVORITE GAME ON GC
The lack of a sequel breaks my heart
Who's here in 2023?! 😎 How did anyone not notice that near the end of the video @ 11:21, he says these games are "Wii hidden gems". 🤣😂 I know what he meant but it's still funny. Great video though! 🤜🤛
What about Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom, the best 3d plat-former ever!
Grew up on that =D
i played this on my ps2
Played it on gamecube
I did also. The Playstation 2 is my all time favorite console though
the spongebob movie game had some great fan service. Gotta love patrick swinging on the light bulb switch in the temple lava level toward the end of the game decked out in full costume too!
Baten Kaitos...... My favorite GameCube games and some of the best I've ever played on anything. A total hidden gem
It's kinda funny that Star fox assault is a hidden gem because it's the first GameCube game I ever played.
most games on gamecube are 60 fps.. go figure
NINTENDO uses their hardware the correct way n takes their time to make sure their games are perfect n dont push out games unfinished n otber bs
I miss the times when nintendo was a power house when it came to graphics. They need to get back to it and fight back kicking xbox and sonys a** in that aspect, just for the kicks.
This guy seems like a mad nice guy and his videos are giving me nostalgia overload.. Def subscribing!
The small GC discs load really quickly, a lot faster than xbox 360 etc.
Not interested in any of those games, but I am amazed by how much I just liked the video :D!
1. You fulfilled the promise of "hidden gems" - it was not clickbait.
2. You made clear to me what those games are about with just a few words and videos. I really don't know how you did it ;D!
I played Lost Kingdom as a rental! Man I wish I could play it again now.
The first one is not very expensive. The second one will cost you about 50$, though.
@@moogibeans9822 I don't have my Gamecube anymore. It got lost (or sold by my mom) some years ago.
@@PsionicMonk aw bummer. Hope you can get another one sometime. Really is a great console.
@@moogibeans9822 Agreed.
GameCube is my favorite console of all time
You should try Geist. A very good FPS/puzzle game made by n-space, I finished it this week and had a really good time.
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
THE END.
I'm 2 years late but I 100% agree!
FOR THE NOSTALGIA!! (posted it before I finished... damn you right hand for posting it before I finished!!)
Was never a gamer gamer myself, loved nightfire for the great fps and monkeyball & wind waker a lot, but really enjoyed playing adventures.
Its not a Wii 11:38
I play my GC games on a Wii sometimes, hence the brain fart
+MetalJesusRocks You smell great today!
+foy compton Skies of Arcadia: Legends.
+foy compton Tales of Symphonia is a solid JRPG title that everyone should get
I'm surprised Reggie didn't catch it....that would've made it even funnier
The Nintendo GameCube is the number one best video game console ever. Why is it the best? Because of it's Game Boy Player accessory! With the Game Boy Player, you can play your Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games on your television via the GameCube.
never thought gamecube would be that awesome it's offered very advanced 3d graphics rather than those polygonal 3d initials that looked simple as in nintendo 64 or saturn and even playstation one .. wow man great episode ..
Eternal Darkness! My all-time favorite Gamecube exclusive. So amazing.
Eternal Darkness: Sanitie's Requiem.
Imagine the original Resident Evil with great controls and all the camp replaced with atmosphere.
Sounds fun. I'll have to play that.
Great game, but the controls and combat were poor.
Tweek the Geek
Poor?
Unlike Resident Evil, your character does not control like a tank.
In combat, you can target individual body parts.
Schwarzer Ritter The combat and controls were amazing!
Game was sooooooo dope!
So they DID make a real Starfox game?! Crap, I totally missed that!
it bests the starfox 64 in my opinion, amazing game and nobody cared about it /:
Adventures was good (IMO) but I can understand why some people don't like it that much !
I like it.
Yeah, like the star wars prequels but the other way around everyone loved it then hated it but for adventures hate then love
I have one, though it is a bit of a cop out as it is not an actual original game, and that is the Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition. I have a copy of this game and love it. It has the original Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. So it has some of the most popular Zelda games all on one disk.
i would agree, but its not hidden lol, its very popular actually.
Yeah, though it was a bonus game that was never available in stores (still got it at gamestop though).
This one gamecube collectors disk got me into the Gamecube.
I'm hoping to get it
BLH Productions i wish they had a link to the last instead of zelda ii but i agree
thank you for reminding me of Lost Kingdoms! My buddy had that at his place and I loved them.
Gamecube games were 60 or 70 bucks ? I barely remember lol. I know that the console itself was very cheap... 99$...
GameDjeenie its pretty cheap, but its still money :)
Lars-Henrik Skogstad Yeah but look at today, The PS4 is 400 bucks and people buy it like hot cakes...
Awesome controller? Maybe if you're six.
That shit was hella uncomfortable and the d-pad was unusable.
2:30 SEGA... NEW MASCOT?
there is a lot of sexual tension between Metal Jesus and Reggie. MJ is totally flirting with him and it disturbs me. I thought this was a GameCube review not a "check out MJ totally dig on this black guy" video.
TheVegaIsAwesome wtf why would you even write this
That's why he always wears shorts. Showing off his pale legs to Reggie.
TheVegaIsAwesome LMFAO
MJ is just trying to get on Reggie's good side so he can steal his Gamecube games.
TheVegaIsAwesome metal Jesus is married nice try though
I have to say Metal Jesus, you're pretty much the only game reviewer on RUclips that I like. Most of them are annoying kids, but your reviews actually had research and reasoning behind them, and you seem like an all round cool dude.
Thank you for these videos man. :D
Average reviewer: "UKAY, GUIS. I HAV A WEVIEW 4 U 2DAY ON DA GAME, CAW OF DOODY, MODAN WAHFAH 4."
MetalJesus: "Okay, so there were some pretty good games for this console, many of which never saw the light of day for many."
"it's kind of a crazy concept that really shouldn't work but man it does!" - i am sold.
Robert Martin WWE Day of Reckoning 2 is actually better than No Mercy.
Aelius Hadrianus He's a troll because he doesn't agree with you?
Mr. Perfect/Curt Hennig is one of my favorite pro wrestlers of all time.
So here we go
1 super mario sunshine
2 melee
3 Metroid prime
4 Metroid prime 2
5 Mario Kart double dash
6 windwaker
7 twilight princess ( was originally being made for gamecube then added motion controls for wii so it could be a launch title )
8 Zelda collection ( not native gamecube games but at the time we're the definitive edition for them )
9 animal crossing
10 harvest moon a wonderful life
11 harvest moon magical melody
12 fire emblem path of radiance
13 f-zero gx
14 chibirobo
15 skys of Arcadia ( for a while was the only way to play it if you didn't have a dreamcast )
16 pikmin
17 pikmin 2
18 tales of symphonia
19 resident evil remake
20 resident evil zero
21 luigis mansion
22 Mario party 6/7
23 super mario strikers
24 Mario toadstool golf
25 eternal darkness
26 geist
27 paper Mario thousand year door
28 super monkey ball
29 super monkey ball 2
30 starfox adventures
31 starfox assualt
32 viewtiful joe
33 resident evil 4
34 kirby airride
35 baiten kaitos
36 Pokemon colosseum
37 sonic adventure 2 battle
38 ikaruga
39 final fantasy crystal chronicles
40 wario world
41 warrior ware Inc
42 rogue squadron 2
43 legend of Zelda four swords
44 metal gear solid the twin snakes ( was the definitive edition of metal gear solid for some time )
45 bomberman generations
46 donky kong jungle beat
47 Mario power tennis
48 wave Race blue storm
49 wwe day of reckoning
50 the Simpson's hit and run
I could keep going and probably make to a 100 games that you could own for your gamecube that were either exclusives or were timed exclusives for the console or being the definitive edition of said game at the time.
Must you play Lost Kingdoms 1 to understand the story of Lost Kingdoms 2?
Nope. Not at all. More of a spiritual successor than a sequel.
Seems like FromSoftware likes those kind of sequels xD
Im surprised but glad to see Lost Kingdoms 2, one of my favorite Gamecube games.
***** idk zelda twilight looks better than fable
Lol awkward controller? It's probably easily the best controller ever. Bad graphics? Another weird one, considering many GC games look much better than other games at the time.
you're joking right?
the gamecube controller along with the 360 controller is regarded by everyone in the industry as the BEST controller ever made.
***** PS" and 1080i?! Nahhhh!
lol at the fuckin' nerdrage going on here. Gamecube sucked just admit it so many sjw here repping their inferior console.
did anyone here him say wii hidden gems at the end LOL XD
did he say "so these are some of the WII hidden gems." its okay but its the GameCube.
The GameCube was my first game console. Even today it's probably one of my favorites.
I used to have both lost kingdoms and never knew it was by Fromsoft, and here I am now a fan of the souls series from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls 2. Thanks for the vid.
No Baten Kaitos?
Baten Kaitos seems to be forgotten from every 'hidden gems' or 'underrated game' lists :'D
I know right? It's Under, Underrated. It's "Inception" Underrated XD
John Lumapas Tru dat. I actually checked and there is a second part of this and the first game there is Baten Kaitos so not bad :D
hillokotka Ah Sweet! Will Check that out now :D Thank YOU :D
dont buy a Gamecube BUY a wii because it can play Gamecube games and wii games
CERTAIN Wii's can
Most Wii's will. It's just some of the very late model Wiis you have to watch out for.
At the end you said wii not gamecube
I am beyond happy that you mentioned Lost Kingdoms 1 & 2. Those were, perhaps, the greatest games I have ever played in terms of atmosphere and mood. Maybe they arrived at that sweet spot in my childhood where any neat game could be magical, but damn, they were wonderful games to play. Great music, interesting concepts, unique artwork...they were simply captivating.
I love your stuff, man. You're very genuine and down-to-earth, add personality to your videos, and give good information and seem very knowledgeable on video games. Subscribed.
WHAT NO NBA STREET VOL 2 WTF
That game is incredible
That game is on multiple platforms though.
it's also not a HIDDEN gem... everyone knew the street games.
