    Thanks Ellis. I had concerns about a shirt I bought on ebay recently. Price was to good to be true. Just checked the Adidas code and it is a fake. Contacted the seller who agreed to a refund but rather indignant when I informed them the shirt was fake. Thanks again for the video was a big help. All the best.

      Got money back today on a fake shirt I bought from ebay. I have to say Ellis is correct, about the quality of some fakes now. Everything about the shirt was very good. I have many shirts in my collect from the team and country I support, some back to the 70s. This shirt seemed 100% genuine, but for the code. My advice. If it's a nice shirt. Wait for the end of season sales and buy from your club. They need the money, especially due to c19. If an international team wait until the end of the tournament or when your team is knocked out. The black Germany shirt was over £100. When they got knock out I got mine for £35! from Adidas.
      Thanks again Ellis for this video. Subscribe to this channel. It actually saved me money.

    I'm not a football jersey collector and I don't care whether I'm wearing an official or fake football jersey. I was looking to buy an official one for my football matches this summer as I assumed that "Official" meant better quality, especially for what concerns the material. Doing some browsing I have discovered that apparently official jerseys and fake jerseys are simply made of the same material. At this point I'm seriously going for a fake one considering the big difference in price.

      There is a noticeable difference if you compare a replica with an authentic kit since one is made for comfort and casual wear while the authentic (real) kits are made from the same material the players wear so they're more suitable for people who play matchs more often

    • @LeJoKerss
      @LeJoKerss 2 года назад +1

      Fake manufactures often release their products sooner than official brands, so they can't find real product codes. And once the fake production is launched, they can't replace it with real codes, too expensive I think.

  • @christophertelles8498

    The thing I find odd is why don't the manufacturers of fake shirts just replicate the exact same product codes of original shirts? They already do quite a good job at making the fakes look pretty much identical to an original, so why not take the extra effort when it comes to the codes?

    • @Mikeb1001
      @Mikeb1001 2 года назад +5

      It's because they get them out before the real ones are released

    • @Joaco572
      @Joaco572 10 месяцев назад

      Mikeb’s response was right.
      I’d add that most of manufacturers of fake shirts don’t sell them as "real", they do it as unofficial replicas (or fake). The ones who try to scam others claiming that what they’re selling are authentic shirts, are resellers. So, that’s why product codes are still that accurate when identifying legit/fake shirts.

      Not always the case to tell, replica shirt retailers stopped printing Lextra around 2000 like JJB for example and there's loads of cases where the PU namesets have been applied to earlier shirts as there was a swamp of supply before the style changed in 2007

That was only on player issue shirts though, most shops selling replica shirts to the public had been using PU for a long time, I had Ronaldo and Saha United shirts in 2004/05 with PU namesets on the back that were bought from JJB Sports in Manchester

    Guys to spot a fake retro always check the sponser.
    In the 80s/90s/00s the sponsor of most shirts was a foam texture and slightly raised off the shirt! Prime examples are the jvc of Arsenal, Sharp of Man U and Carlsberg of Liverpool.
    A lot of the fake retro shirts have a flat pressed sponsor, you can actually see a lot of fake United shirts with a flat pressed sharp sponsor online, that’s a massive give away that it’s not original

    I’ve bought a few recently for the first time because I’m not paying $100+ per shirt when I wanted a couple, and they’re noticeably sloppy, bad stitching and patches, run very small, and take months to ship. Though I did get the Dortmund blackout and it’s really good and no way would I pay $500 for a real one. I’ll buy a real shirt every once in a while though but usually when they go on sale
