I loved hearing about your quilt Leigh and look forward to the next instalment. I made my brother a quilt recently and loved making it for him. The quilt was delivered to him in Australia earlier this month by me and my husband.
That quilt looks like so much fun! I remember you making a jelly roll quilt using the quilt race technique! I was inspired and bought a jelly roll which has sat in my stash ever since 😂 You'll have a great time hand quilting this one, will you use your sewing machine to bind it?
The jelly roll race quilt gets a lot of use. It lives on the couch, and the linen backing makes it a durable picnic blanket. That was the quilt I used the recycled bottle wadding for. It's been through the wash numerous times. Highly recommend the jellyroll race quilt. Lots of fun.
I made the blocks by pairing a light with a dark. I did just start sewing them together randomly, but had to do a bit of unpicking so that there wasn't two with the exact same colour together.
Good job. Lovely colors.
Thanks!
That looks great Leigh,x
Thanks

Gifts are better hand delivered, aren't they?
So pretty! I made the top for one once but that is as far as it got 😉

❤ how do you know which panel to place where? Do you make long strips up and line them up or do you plan it all out first?

I'm sorry, but I believe jelly rolls are 2 1/2 inches wide, not 2 inches
Is that what I said! Oops. Yes, you're quite right. 2.5"
