I can't forget the scene in the book, Armstrong slaps Vera acting hysterical about Mr Rogers death but it was reverse in this series. I thought it would be exciting to watch that part 😅
Had no idea Toby was Maggie Smith's son till I Googled him this year but man, I did know he was talent! Come to look at it again he does share a few of his dame & iconic mother's expressions
Sunny Edits, it’s funny, but later in the show Armstrong starts to panic and is slapped by Vera. But in the book, Vera is the one who panics and gets slapped by Armstrong (or Lombard, in the stage version). It’s interesting how an author’s work gets adapted, and although I have many problems with this show, I actually like that Vera was the one who takes command of the situation. That was a clever change.
I always pictured Wargrave as being a bit more... husky. Admittedly, a man as ill as he should not be fat by any means, but he's an old judge who isn't moved by emotions or swayed by opinion, so I thought he'd be a bit stodgier and toad-like. A reflection of his personality.
Honestly Wargrave, Macarthur, Armstrong, Blore and Mrs. Rogers were the closest to good people on that island. The latter four were clearly very repentant. And unlike Brent and Vera, who only felt bad for themselves, they showed signs of guilt before the killing even started. And Wargrave really just wanted to kill criminals, making him more of a vigilante than an evildoer... aaaaand there was definitely justice in seeing Rogers, Marston, Brent, Lombard and Vera get what was coming to them. Even if I did start to feel sorry for Rogers after his wife died and seeing how broken he'd become.
I have never read the book but watched this 2015 version and I ask again this question from anyone who may have read the book (and I will not give any spoiler here) ---How could anyone know the crimes of each person? For example, how could anyone know about Vera's crime?
So in the book, everyone gathered around the house until suddenly there’s an abrupted announcement listing every one of the character’s crime one by one
And if you’re wondering how Wargrave knew beforehand, it’s because he had a conversation with Hugo on a ship and he told him. Hugo was the only one who knew that she did it.
In my eyes, Armstrong in the book wasn't evil at all, and not at all a murderer. He _accidentally_ killed a patient because he was drunk. And he was remorseful & quit drinking booze after that. While reading the book, he was the character I felt most sorry for
agenttheater5 Not many people _would_ have. In my eyes, that Marston was way worse. He didn't care at all that TWO KIDS died because of him, and yet Wargrave somehow thought Marston was the least guilty?? Rolling my naked eyes at Wargrave's way of thinking
I know that in this version Armstrong is a whiny jerk and he's just a, well, kinda typical gentleman in the original, but for some reason I'm sooooo damn attracted to him... It's not just because of Toby Stephens, I mean I didn't really find him attractive in other movies... Well I guess it's just my, uhh, type, unfortunately, lol
I think it would go something like this: Karl: "I was a fookin legend!" Tywin: "Any man who has to say he's a legend is no true legend." Locke: "Aye, hard to argue with that. Your son was a legend... until I chopped his hand off." Tywin: "YOU DID WHAT?!"
This is the worst version of Dr. Armstrong that ever was portrayed on camera, and I don’t blame the actor Toby Stephens for that, I blame the writer Sarah Phelps. The Armstrong I’m used to was at least smart enough to hide his alcoholism and could make you think he might be the killer, but this Armstrong is a weakling and dumber than Blore.
+DT Gaming This is the new adaptation of Agatha Christie's book "And Then There Were None" - it used to be called "Ten Little Indians" but it over the past few years that title was looked as politically incorrect. For this version the location is called Soldier Island instead of Indian Island. This is a 3-part mini-series that is currently airing in England. Plans are in the works for a US broadcast on the Lifetime cable channel but a date has not been announced yet.
Jack C That was the novel's original English title, yes. When the novel was to be printed in the US it was changed to "Ten Little Indians" for obvious reasons. It stayed that way for decades until it was recently changed to "Ten Little Soldiers" since the term "Indians" was likewise deemed racist.
@@astianpesuaine9679 In MY naked eyes, only Mr. Rogers, Lombard, and Vera were TRUE murderers. And MAYBE General Macarthur. However, I liked Macarthur, but not Marston, Emily, or Blore. And DEFINITELY I didn't like Wargrave
Of all the adaptations of Doctor Armstrong, this one is the most whiny! Great acting though. Just wish Armstrong’s character was written more like a doctor than a snobby, selfish cry-baby.
Why did you have to blur other actors face, you should have let us to choose which actor we want to see!!! I wish I could give you million thumbs down for that silly joke!!!!!
This was a really good show. The writing was done so well you constantly had someone to root for, despite the revelations, that came along the way.
Yes, I rooted for the doctor all throughout!
1:02 Brent is like; Can I eat my egg now?
1:04 and it only they had listened to Doctor Armstrong
they did
If Doctor Armstrong had only listened to Doctor Armstrong, remember how he was killed. He put his trust in the Judge.

At this stage they were all still clean and tidy...
The acting is so spectacular.
Marvellous show. Very enjoyable.
Tywin is just paying his debt. A Lannister always pays his debts.

Wargrave-Armstrong, that's not cool man.

Tywin Lannister looks good in a suit.
Great movie. Celebrity play there part like true professional. Thank you very much for all the part that put on B B C .
Tywin Lannister and Karl Tanner of Gin Alley (Fookin Legend) in the same scene. Interesting.
+Ovde Blizua Actually there is Locke as well, who cut Jamie's right hand and try to kill Bran but got killed by Hodor XD
+Sarella Lynne What do you mean? I see no Locke in this scene.
+Ovde Blizu yep but in episode1 you can see him, he is Mr Rogers, the housekeeper in the show.
Sarella Lynne Oh, i don't really watch this series to be honest.

Captain Flint

There is epilogue at the end of bookwhich explains it all
@@nanatako_fia9312 That happens in the series as well
He's asking about how Wargrave knew of their past crimes
Wargrave trolls people in passing for information on people who have gotten away with murder.

"Uncapabble of the surgery then doctor?"
is his arm strong?
myles Wu SKSJKSKSJSK
No, but his arms are trong.
They made Armstrong looks so evil in the show, he was not this evil in the book. I do not want my favorite character being a bitch.
I didn't get the evil vibe. Just desperate

Watch him in Black Sails as Captain Flint

I realized Blore plays Adam in the show "Forever." Huh.
Philip Lombard!!!😍😍😍😭😭😭😭❤❤❤
Can you watch this from anywhere these days? The whole series i mean

I wonder what Karl, Tywin, and Locke would say to each other if they ever met on the show.
I think it would go something like this:
Karl: "I was a fookin legend!"
Tywin: "Any man who has to say he's a legend is no true legend."
Locke: "Aye, hard to argue with that. Your son was a legend... until I chopped his hand off."
