- Kim So-hyang, known mononymously as Sohyang, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and author. She was born on April 5, 1978, in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Sohyang's singing career began in 1996 when she was discovered by composer Jo Hwan-gon while practicing in a recording studio¹. She has been dubbed by the international media as the "Korean Mariah Carey" due to her controlled, skillful, and developed voice¹²⁴. Her goal is to use her voice to comfort people who are going through difficult times¹².
