So *THIS* is where all those people in Houston are lol... the fourth largest population in the country and you wouldn't know it from the 4k walk videos I watch! Considering malls have been dying out in the US the crowded-ness makes it extra surprising.
I know right? It's amazing how much of a city's hustle and bustle we can miss out on just by watching curated videos. I guess that's why travel and exploration are so important, to truly experience a place's vibe and energy. It's interesting to see how malls, which were once the go-to spot for shopping and leisure, are now slowly fading out. But it seems like Houstonians still love visiting them
@@jerryyoung-m7g I do know that and have both lived and traveled extensively in various parts of the US (and the rest of the world for that matter )and my experience is precisely why I feel most of the US is abnormally dead. Houston is the fattest city and the US as a country in the world for a reason. You cannot burn calories through day to day activities that are normally done on foot elsewhere. And for the record I studied urbanism at a university level. This isn’t about being a NYer.
@@jerryyoung-m7g Your original comment is gone and I didnt watch the uploders video to argue. I was just replying with what was a jab at me being a NYer which was unrelated to me being surprised about the amount of people at the mall. Statistics are interesting and can be positive or negative or null. If Houston is no longer the fattest city in the world then thats that.
Talk about a massive mall. Never got down to the Galleria in Houston. I generally do my shopping at the Domaine in Austin, TX. This place definitely has everything you need.
When I was younger there was a Farrel's Ice Cream there that I loved. I don't know if it's still there or not. It was on the 1st floor next to the ice rink.
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your fond memory of Farrell's Ice Cream! I always love hearing about places that hold special meaning for people. As for its current status, I'm not sure if it's still there, but next time I visit the area, I'll make sure to check it out and update you in one of my future videos. I can imagine how awesome it must have been to enjoy ice cream right next to the ice rink! If you have any other nostalgic spots you'd like me to visit or showcase in my videos, please let me know. Thanks for your support and happy reminiscing!
I completely agree with you! The Galleria on a Friday night is an experience like no other. The energy and vibe are electrifying, and there's so much to do and see. It's a perfect place to unwind after a long week and enjoy the weekend. I love how there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options that cater to every taste and preference.

Once a worthy destination, now a miserable embarrassment in my opinion.
I totally get where you're coming from; malls like the Galleria have certainly seen better days, and it's a bit disheartening to witness the decline.

It really is!
