That is so weird that they wanted you to do a "sponsorship" like video for PR. I've heard a lot of channels talk about what they have to do for sponsorships and that is exactly what they want you to do. I canceled my Boxycharm, so not worth it anymore. I do like those Brushes tho, I got them in a box last year. Love your channel BTW 💕
Honestly, their boxes suck. Consider it a blessing. But, just to keep showing the truth to anyone searching 'Boxycharm' it is important they find the truth, I hope you are able to purchase and show us.
Especially when the folks they send the boxes too do end up with some of the makeup, and the bought boxes don’t get any (a lot of the time) I cancelled my Boxys and ipsys last year, and never looked back! I just like watching Alexandrias vids!

I was totally hoping that I would've received the summer eyeshadow palette this month....nope just all skincare except that liquid eyeshadow, and mascara....my pick was the Anastasia Beverly Hills foundation. So, that leads me to wonder.... would I have gotten another skincare item if I let them choose for me???? Also, because I received a duplicate item like a couple of months ago (Studio makeup/hyaluronic serum), they so graciously gave me $12.00 in credit to purchase something else.....anybody else get that as well???
The PR requirements thing feels like something a company would do if they were having financial issues: they basically get a "sponsored" video for waaay cheaper. It seems so cheap and sketchy.
yeah that’s the whole point of PR. a PR box is a package of items sent to a list of chosen people in the hopes that they will share the products with their audience. i think companies do PR because the law doesn’t require the person to disclose that they got the items for free if it’s PR. plus PR is way cheaper than a sponsorship
@@misseselise3864 but PR doesn't not mean sponsored videos. Boxy charm sent them requirements of a sponsorship which is different to a pr. It free advertising with the PR. But requirement of how the video has to go, music, makeup look. Thats a sponsorship deal.

I'm so glad you are staying true to you! Right after Ipsy bought BoxyCharm, I was getting bad vibes from my BoxyCharm contact person at BoxyCharm and I asked to be removed from PR. I was recently kicked off of Ipsy PR. I don't do unboxings like you do, but I was mentioning products that I got in Ipsy in other videos like, "I've been using this lip gloss that I got from Ipsy..." They said they might put me back on, but I don't expect it. Like you said, it is a privilege to be on PR and it was nice while it lasted, but I felt the same way you did. You are a true gem and that's why you are so loved here on RUclips! BoxyCharm is really losing out by losing you.

I've watched enough videos where creators explain how PR vs. sponsorship works to know that that requirement posed by BoxyCharm is WAY out of line. I guess they can do what they want, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Keep up the great work! ❤️
PR is when a company sends a creator some products in the hopes that they’ll share it with their audience but the creator isn’t required to share the items or disclose that it was free. sponsorships have to be disclosed and have a far higher monetary amount. the boxycharm PR box is worth a couple hundred dollars max but the mattress from helix is a $2500 product on top of what they’re paying her to talk about it (and with her subscriber amount, she probably gets paid a ton for it). some companies will also give a creator some of the profit every time someone uses their promo code (idk if helix does that)
Yeah, if they want you to make a sponsorship type video, but not pay you for doing it, I COMPLETELY understand why you didn’t follow it, and I like that you’re honest and open about whether you like the box or not. I trust your opinion, and glad you didn’t change just for a brand. Especially a brand who wasn’t paying you

No, they want fake happy all the time. I am not happy with some items, if you look them up they feel like some cheap rebranded item. They do not even have good web pages. I will not even donate them to the shelters.
FYI that Dr. Brandt eye cream is a sample, the full size (still not a ton of product) is $82. I know this because a sample from boxy got me hooked and it is now the most expensive thing in my bathroom... Including the furnishings.
Did you ever watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt where Martin Short played a character called Dr. Franff? He had platinum blond hair & distorted facial features kind of like the real Dr. It supposedly set Dr. Brandt off and he was depressed. Dr. Brandt tried a lot of his techniques on himself as a guinea pig. Dr. Brandt committed suicide in April 2015. It was very sad as I lived in Miami & that where his main office was & it was all over the news here.

I'm on the list and I know they sent out a mass email to creators asking them to fill out the form, or that they'd be removed because they're making changes to the program. I think that could be why because they said March would be your last box if you didn't respond to the form 😊 I love your videos by the way, always so honest and entertaining, they'd be missing out taking you off no matter the reason!

Oh, those Boxy requirements are a big yikes! It sounds like they're trying to trick creators into a sponsership without actually paying them. This also makes me super side-eye the influencers that I follow that do partnerships with Boxycharm during their unboxing videos. After all, how honest can their reviews actually be with all of those requirements?

Georgette Klinger was actually a big deal in the 70’s & 80’s, she ran salons related to skin care in NYC & LA similar to what Elizabeth Arden did with her “Red Door” salons. It’s very interesting to go back and read about our women pioneers of the industry like Georgette Klinger, Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden & Helena Rubinstein. They really accomplished major achievements in women running their own businesses & creating much of what we know & love today.

Georgette is the name of my phone ghost. After turning off autocorrect I continued to get some interesting and very not right substitutions still. So my phone is haunted and the name popped up during a digital "seance" where I just went at my phone's keyboard to see what would happen. I did cancelled my subcriptions boxes a long time ago. On my time subscribed, I got some really nice things, but I ended up accumulating a lot which ended in trash. I do appreciate your honesty, that makes me like you even more. I still watch your videos, keep going.

The Lucky Chick liquid eyeshadow is meant to be applied to the hand with the spatula, and then dabbed on with a finger. If you apply it directly to the lid with the spatula, it will not dry. I received it in my Ipsy bag last month, and a lot of people were complaining about it because they did not read the instructions.
I'm a nail artist and get PR, I feel the same! It's like they don't know who much work it takes, how long it takes to film then edit. Their products will get my honest opinion and they aren't going to dictate what my opinion is or the way I film. I absolutely appreciate companies that want to send me pr and want an honest opinion so they can know if they need to improve something or if they are doing a great job! You keep doing you!! That's why we watch.
As someone who follows you and has seen many of your videos AND is also obsessed with nail art, I’d be curious to know which brands try to dictate terms with you like Boxycharm did here with Alex. I already have several brands (mostly indie companies whose maker I cannot support) on my “do not buy” list, but I’d also add someone who tried this boxycharm style tactic.

Both boxes were nice. The purple Bakuchiol - I have used Bakuchiol in serum and with excellent results on my skin. It performed like a retinol or better for me. The dry oil looks wonderful. I've missed those in body products. I like the pink liquid shadow also. Thanks for sharing.
Boxy Charm wanted the control of a paid sponsorship or paid commercial for the minimal cost of sending a free box. I’m glad you stayed true to yourself and true to your viewers who are hoping for honest feedback.
Part of why your videos are so great is because you are honest about products. I am more likely to buy from a company that is open to honest reviews as opposed to PR reviews.
In a perfect BoxyCharm world I am sure they would love for you to sing the praises of each and every product. In my perfect RUclips watching world I want honesty from my favorite RUclips channel creators. Keep up the honesty. What I would like to see from you is a revisit of items that you received that you continue to use and recommend.

I think Boxy and all these subcription makeup and skin care companies are like Kohl's, where their list prices are astronomical so that sales (subscriptions) seem like such a great deal. Normal people couldn't buy everything in a box without the subscription, but on the flip side, most people don't want everything in the box they receive! Also, fairly sure that Natasha Denona blush is leftover from Valentine's!
That smacks of what some retailers do through Amazon. Inside the package there is a card that says if you give this product a 5 star review, email us a link to the review and we will give you a code for another free product. I always toss those, I refuse to lie or kowtow to a manufacturer for free products. It's called lying in my world. Good for you Alex, you do you, not them ever. You are more fun!
I am a light skintone and love all blushes I use a light hand if needed if it's to dark. I also love cream blushes esp Natasha Denona cream blushes bc they blend out like a dream. I use cream blushes that do not pull up anything underneath it. Mostly matte or satin cream blushes. U just have to play around and see what ones work best for u.

I feel like we are coming to the end of Ipsy/Boxy or they are going to combine into one box or something. I stopped getting it before the price raise. I used to love getting it but it went from me getting a box with maybe one or two things I didn't love to one or two things I actually liked so I couldn't justify getting it anymore. What you described is not cool for a simple PR drop, like you said.. it's a sponsorship if they are demanding it be done a certain way on a certain day and they give you the music? What?!

Well I never received pr it seems like when Yosef was running boxycharm he was much more open to how influencers review pr!
I heard most influencers were taken off the Premium PR list. Some speculated they may be getting rid of the Premium box.
I had seen a couple other post about it so that would make sense!
I would prefer that. I had the premium but then the base boxes looked better, so I changed and as soon as I did premium had CT, ND, etc. Frustrating.

I'm on the list and I know they sent out a mass email to creators asking them to fill out the form, or that they'd be removed because they're making changes to the program. I think that could be why because they said March would be your last box if you didn't respond to the form 😊 I love your videos by the way, always so honest and entertaining, they'd be missing out taking you off no matter the reason!

I cant pay that pricetag for what i was receiving.! I enjoyed boxy charm for the first 6 months but after that i just wasnt impressed after the price tag went up. Love seeing Wren in the videos such a cutie! ❤❤

Oh, those Boxy requirements are a big yikes! It sounds like they're trying to trick creators into a sponsership without actually paying them. This also makes me super side-eye the influencers that I follow that do partnerships with Boxycharm during their unboxing videos. After all, how honest can their reviews actually be with all of those requirements?

It’s very interesting to go back and read about our women pioneers of the industry like Georgette Klinger, Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden & Helena Rubinstein. They really accomplished major achievements in women running their own businesses & creating much of what we know & love today.

Georgette is the name of my phone ghost. After turning off autocorrect I continued to get some interesting and very not right substitutions still. So my phone is haunted and the name popped up during a digital "seance" where I just went at my phone's keyboard to see what would happen. Kind of like a keyboard ouija board situation all in good fun. I was just like "Georgette she's talking about you!" I need to get out more. 😂
Ugh I find it so annoying that companies do that because it’s like you said you should be honest about your personal opinion of the items received. I did cancelled my subcriptions boxes a long time ago. On my time subscribed, I got some really nice things, but I ended up accumulating a lot which ended in trash. I do appreciate your honesty, that makes me like you even more. I still watch your videos, keep going.

The Lucky Chick liquid eyeshadow is meant to be applied to the hand with the spatula, and then dabbed on with a finger. If you apply it directly to the lid with the spatula, it will not dry. I received it in my Ipsy bag last month, and a lot of people were complaining about it because they did not read the instructions.

I'm a nail artist and get PR, I feel the same! It's like they don't know who much work it takes, how long it takes to film then edit. Their products will get my honest opinion and they aren't going to dictate what my opinion is or the way I film.

As someone who follows you and has seen many of your videos AND is also obsessed with nail art, I’d be curious to know which brands try to dictate terms with you like Boxycharm did here with Alex. I already have several brands (mostly indie companies whose maker I cannot support) on my “do not buy” list, but I’d also add someone who tried this boxycharm style tactic.

Both boxes were nice. The purple Bakuchiol - I have used Bakuchiol in serum and with excellent results on my skin. It performed like a retinol or better for me. The dry oil looks wonderful. I've missed those in body products. I like the pink liquid shadow also. Thanks for sharing.
Boxy Charm wanted the control of a paid sponsorship or paid commercial for the minimal cost of sending a free box. I’m glad you stayed true to yourself and true to your viewers who are hoping for honest feedback.
Part of why your videos are so great is because you are honest about products. I am more likely to buy from a company that is open to honest reviews as opposed to PR reviews.
In a perfect BoxyCharm world I am sure they would love for you to sing the praises of each and every product. In my perfect RUclips watching world I want honesty from my favorite RUclips channel creators. Keep up the honesty. What I would like to see from you is a revisit of items that you received that you continue to use and recommend.

I think Boxy and all these subcription makeup and skin care companies are like Kohl's, where their list prices are astronomical so that sales (subscriptions) seem like such a great deal. Normal people couldn't buy everything in a box without the subscription, but on the flip side, most people don't want everything in the box they receive! Also, fairly sure that Natasha Denona blush is leftover from Valentine's!
That smacks of what some retailers do through Amazon. Inside the package there is a card that says if you give this product a 5 star review, email us a link to the review and we will give you a code for another free product. I always toss those, I refuse to lie or kowtow to a manufacturer for free products. It's called lying in my world. Good for you Alex, you do you, not them ever. You are more fun!

I am a light skintone and love all blushes I use a light hand if needed if it's to dark. I also love cream blushes esp Natasha Denona cream blushes bc they blend out like a dream. I use cream blushes that do not pull up anything underneath it. Mostly matte or satin cream blushes. U just have to play around and see what ones work best for u.
Aia beauty bundle did the herbivore box a few months back. It was absolutely amazing

I totally agree with you. I feel that you would not just say what they wanted you to say if you truly didn't agree with their statements. I appreciate your thoughts and opinions on things and I'm very glad you didn't do that. To me, PR should have been continued.
