    This is very helpful. I find the explanations in the HSK standard course books use a lot of grammatical terminology that makes my head spin. For example: "When a verb or verb phrase is used as an attributive modifier, 的 should be put between the modifier and the word modified." It's not a very difficult concept, but they make it overly complicated by the way they try to explain it. By contrast, you explain grammar points in a way that is easy to understand. I am reviewing HSK 3 and starting HSK 4, but it was useful to review these HSK 2 grammar points, and it is wonderful when they are presented so clearly. Thank you!

    Why are the two examples on 虽然... 但是... not the same order in their CHINGlish translations? 比如说:
    1. 虽然汉字很难, 但是我喜欢学习汉字。 2. 虽然外面很冷, 但是房间里很热。
    I think it confuses me because it’s inconsistent.

    • @Funmi-g5t
      @Funmi-g5t 10 дней назад

      I know it's 3 years later but if I had to guess...he did the verb action with an adjective descriptor. He spoke well. subject verb adjective where as 他说很好 "He said very good" or "he said its good" doesnt indicate what was good 得 indicates that for verbs and 的 for nouns. if the sentence was longer perhaps this would be much more easier to see.

    Next video difference between 紧张 and 着急? Also the difference between saying "我做完了作业” and "我把作业做完了”.

    • @EverydayChinese
      @EverydayChinese  4 года назад +1

      我做完了作业 and 我把作业做完了 have the same meaning.
      A basic sentence in Mandarin is formed with a subject-verb-object (SVO) word order, as in English:
      Subj. + [Verb Phrase] + Obj.
      In the 把 sentence, the object has moved, and is just preceded by 把. You now have SOV word order:
      Subj. + 把 + Obj. + [Verb Phrase]
      紧张 VS 着急:
      紧张[jǐn zhāng]
      1.
      (精神处于高度准备状态, 兴奋不安) nervous; keyed up:
      look nervous; 神情紧张
      overcome one's nervousness; 克服紧张情绪
      2.
      (激烈或紧迫, 使人精神紧张) tense; intense; strained; hectic; jettery:
      intense but orderly work; 紧张而有秩序的工作
      a tense situation; tension; 紧张局势
      3.
      (供应不足) in short supply; tight:
      These goods are in short supply. 这些货物供应紧张。
      着急[zháo jí]
      worry; feel anxious:
      Just take care of yourself and don't worry. 别着急, 安心养病。
      Keep calm. Don't be anxious. 冷静点, 别着急。
