I love how this plays with our understanding of the word "stranger." Technically, anybody you meet for the first time is a stranger by default, and the idea of "stranger danger" is the fact that because you don't know a person, you don't know what their intentions are (even though that's basically true of anyone who isn't you).
However, as you go further into the video, you get the sense that the word "stranger" seems to refer to something entirely different. This begins with the song about Red Riding Hood-- er, excuse me... "Little Red," which is seemingly no help in teaching how to identify a "Stranger". But as you watch on, you start to realize that Ranger Luke is actually giving some warning signs to watch out for, such as whistling or taking the wrong path. There's also the visuals, which reveal that the "Strangers" aren't actually human, and there's a reason why Ranger Luke specifically says "big bad wolf". Then there's the pig's game, which is not only much more helpful in showing us what a "Stranger" looks like, but also introduces us to the "Adversary," which is implied to be much more dangerous.

@@sandsunderthetable.6625 its not a coincidence there's a lot of religious references actually that you shouldn't be deterred
The Burning Sword are Seraphim swords,
the angels chained in Book of Enoch were in references to perhaps Azazel and The Watchers who got punished for teaching humanity knowledge, they were tossed in a pit and evenutally joined Satan , they vary and arent all Seraphims but they're colloquially called the Watchers, it could also refer to satan himself (see below)
Satan means ADVERSARY in Hebrew, and he was commonly depicted as a Serpent just like the ADVERSARY in this analog horror, a neat reference to the Garden of Eden, also the first time burning swords of angels was mentioned in that story arc
Also, What's Lucifer job before he got kicked out, most believe he was either a Seraphim or an Archangel, or perhaps both, an Archangel that led the Seraphims (Which would make him really strong) , So the ADVERSARY at some point held the Burning Sword lol
Also the comets, falling star, the star falling, sins of the stars, they're a reference to Lucifer name, the Morning Star.

    @danielbueno8474 Год назад +934

    Okay, so many info:
    - All puppets are named after deceased children, the "Grandwood Four". Why are they called the "Grandwood Four"?
    - There's a picture of one of the children, Anna Carpenter, at Rex' desk (1:18).
    - In the Intuitane video, Margaret Pendleton has dreamed of this puppet show even though it never went on air before she dreamed of it, and Daniel Carpenter has dreamed of the cultists (which seem to be canonically called the Strangers).
    - Also, are Daniel Carpenter from the Intuitane video and Anna Carpenter related? (My guess is that they are.)
    - Also in the Intuitane video, Daniel Carpenter drew a music sheet with the song the Strangers were whistling. It's the same whistling we hear in the Pine Barrens Hiking Safety video. But it is also EXTREMELY similar to the song played at the end of the puppet show, especially at the instrumental part (12:40). What does this mean? Also, the lyrics sound way too "cultisty".
    - 4:11 Is that the hole the Strangers reunite around, as described in Daniel Carpenter's Intuitane dream?
    - In this show, Oswald mentions that when the Strangers whistle a "melody", it means they aren't "hunting". In the Intuitane video, Daniel Carpenter is mentioned to have had a "violent encounter" with the Strangers. In the Pine Barrens Hiking Safety video, we see a person running into three Strangers at night, and their whistlings at that time are continuous and out of tune, not melodic. Does that mean they were on the hunt for Daniel Carpenter that night?
    - In the Christmas Eve Candelight video, there are two guys dealing with a monster in a basement. If we turn on the subtitles, one of the guys is apparently called Dan Sevee and the other is called Luke Bale. Are ranger Luke and Luke Bale the same person?
    - According to the subtitles, the creature who makes that loud noise is called "The Adversary". Another biblical reference. *_"Be sober, be vigilant; because the adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."_** (1 Peter 5:8, ESV)* Welp, that Adversary monster can roar alright.
EDIT: 9:40 "The burning swords protect us." Thanks @fluffleFan01 for pointing it out.
EDIT2: Dan Sevee and Luke Bale are the ones (the in-universe characters) responsible for all White Stag Education videos, except (presumably) for the Intuitane one, as explained in the initial disclaimer. Thanks @RekkingBoru for pointing it out.

I didn't notice a metallic bird during the campfire though... I thought the "she heard birds singing but there were none in the air" lyric meant that what she heard was actually Strangers whistling.
EDIT: Wait, I just realized... in the Christmas Eve Candelight video, there are two guys dealing with a monster in a basement. If we turn on the subtitles, one of the guys is called Dan Sevee and the other is called Luke Bale. Are ranger Luke and Luke Bale the same person?

The most horrifying thing implied in this video is that the granny wasn't eaten by the big bad wolf in this version, but instead it is implied that it's quite possible that it wasn't even a stranger that got Red, but instead her own grandmother. Evident when the song takes a turn and explains that it was actually her Grandmother herself that locked the door....
This series will always have a special place in my heart, it's truly terrorfying, especially given my own supernatural experience in the pine barrens years ago. Keep up the good work!!!!

    • @nightperson1012

That's what I got from it too! One thing I notice is that when the song glitches, it leaves the sentence incomplete as just "it wasn't her". The previous line ended with the word "door", and the song itself has a pretty definite rhyme scheme, so it's pretty likely that the last line was actually "It wasn't her anymore."
      Which is terrifying.

The music for 7:32 and 12:01 have the same melody.
Also when you turn the captions on and keep playing the song it'll say [inviting melody plays] which probably connects to when the ranger says "do not follow them into the woods, no matter **how friendly they look**." Maybe they whistle that song to lure in people who knows
If you didn't notice 4:10 have a hole in the little red song which also connects to the previous video where one of the people's dream.
Other than that the song at the end sounds so good and I keep replaying it over and over.

To have this series to have a cult operate in the shadows is horrifying. This stuff EXISTS. We’d always find comfort in Sesame Street and the muppets yet these guys are invincible. The strangers would’ve done horrifying things to them and sacrificed them for some reason. I’d LOVE to go in depth with this series more in the future Bc this could actually have a movie or short film act as a sequel. Someone goes out to investigate the disappearance, Resident Evil 7 esk, finds out about alla this in the forest and builds up the motivation to end this themselves.

" it was too late, granny locked the door, red saw her face, it wasnt her-" in addition to the jumpscare (which actually got me pretty bad) theres an even scarier implication here. The rest of the song followed a rhyming pattern, so you can assume that whatever word would have come after "her" would have rhymed with "door", and the only word that makes sense is "anymore". It wasn't her ANYMORE. so this isnt a monster that killed and impersonated her grandma, her grandma transformed into a monster, meaning that whatever a "Stranger" is, it was possibly once a human.
Also, i think that ranger luke is actually a stranger, and could possibly be luke bale, who probably had something bad happen to him at the end of the Christmas video, leading to him being transformed into a stranger. Why? First of all, lukes ears are unusualy pointy, almost like.... *Wolf* ears, and he sings about the big bad wolf, who is meant to represent a stranger. Also he seems to know a lot about Strangers, being able to tell if we are a stranger or not just by looking at us and knowing what the stranger's whistling means. Maybe its just because hes a park ranger and deals with strangers a lot, but... Idk. Also this may be a reach but "ranger" is only two letters off from "stranger", so if he actually is one, i wouldnt be surprised if the series will do a hint where we see his name and for a split second ranger is changed to stranger or something. And if this id rhe case, it's possible some or all of his advice is useless or wrong and will actually get people killed

Luke's ears are just ears... if they were made to be pointy on purpose you'd be able to tell, it appears to just be genetics here. And his knowledge strangers isn't hard to understand either. This is a show made for kids to understand the rules of the park and how to survive it, and thats on top the fact he's a park ranger. Hi guys, something I’ve noticed. But there might be a subtle Lovecraft reference here. At 10:25 you can hear a distinct bird cry. This bird I believe is the whippoorwill, which is a bird that is featured in the story ‘The Dunwich Horror.’
Not sure if the story will have relevance here, but I thought this to be an interesting connection 🙂

This was beautifully done, well produced and directed, and it felt so authentic! It wasn't full of jumpscares, but it had an eerie feel to it. I'm no horror expert, but THAT"S some GOOD WORK! Alright, I’m trying to piece the story together here. Here’s what I got:
A line of pills called Intuitane is released that help boost the power of foresight. The side-effects of this pill primarily revolve around disturbing dreams. The dreams these test subjects have hint towards other videos in the White Stag series, and since the pills are meant to boost foresight, it can be inferred that this was the first event in the White Stag continuity.
One of the dreams depicts a never-before televised puppet show about the perils of stranger danger, with a park ranger and one of the main characters being named Rex. This is exactly what we see in THIS video, showing that the foresight pills really worked.
Lets talk about the Strangers for a moment. They’re a group of masked humanoids that dwell in the forest of a NJ hiking path and whistle to anyone who wanders onto a “false trail.” If they whistle a song, you’re supposed to wait for the song to end, then run the other direction. If the whistles aren’t a song, you close your eyes and run. The Strangers seem to be working for a creature called the Adversary, who roams beneath the forest. And the Strangers have an undeniable presence in every one of the videos. In the first one, they’re hunting a wayward hiker who took a false path and couldn’t escape. In the third video, one of the pill test subjects has dreams of the Strangers. This video’s puppet show is LITERALLY CALLED “STRANGER DANGER” and goes into how to avoid Strangers (with a capital s, so not just people you don’t know), and what to do if you wind up on a false path. Plus, it’s dedicated to four kids who were lost in the Grandwood Forest and presumably got killed by the Strangers, one of which named Rex.
The second video, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, starts out as a relatively normal religious event. However, the second part two men going into a basement and getting attacked by a demonic creature. One of them doesn’t make it out alive.
    THEORIES:
I have reason to believe that the people that went into the basement are Luke Bale (Ranger Luke) and Dan Sevee, and Luke didn’t make it out alive. This is due to the newspaper clipping posted onto this channel’s community tab, depicting an article about the death of Luke Bale. My guess is that the Adversary killed him, though the basement is not said to have been in the forest, so that may just be confirmation bias.
Another theory I have is that the Jersey Devil, another unexplained monster dwelling around Grandwood National Park, killed Luke, due to the same clipping also discussing sights of the Devil, and Luke being found dead OUTSIDE the forest, not inside where the Adversary could’ve killed him. Maybe the religious readings during the Christmas Service summoned the devil? But then how do the Strangers fit into this? Did THEY summon the devil? I’m not entirely sure.
Actually yeah, didn’t the two people run OUT of the basement after seeing the Adversary/Jersey Devil/whatever it is? That would explain why Luke would be dead OUTSIDE of the forest (assuming the basement is somewhere in the forest). But then comes the question: who killed him? I suppose it’s also possible that the Adversary and Jersey Devil are the SAME entity, which is probably the theory I’ll subscribe to, even though it doesn’t make sense for Luke to be dead OUTSIDE the park.
EDIT: Just read the newspaper more thoroughly, Luke’s body was found on Christmas Day, and the religious event was on Christmas Eve. So…the Adversary and Jersey Devil CAN’T be the same thing, because if the religious readings summoned the Jersey Devil, he wouldn’t have been around when the puppet show was made. Though…the newspaper also mentions that the Devil has been around for a few weeks before the murder, so……
I can’t say for sure yet. But hey, this is really interesting! I’ve never been big on analog horror, but I found this video via Pastra and David Baron’s watch party, and I’m really excited to see what happens in the fifth video! Who knows’s maybe it’ll have to do with the meteor that the guy dreamed about in the Intuitane commercial, under the influence of those pills. We’ll see!

The way everyone reacts to us at first and how anna asked “how do you know they’re not a stranger?” The way she sounded made it more sound like the cult that haunts the forest and not an actual stranger. I’m sure you all heard that the cult in the forest are called “the strangers”.

That final twist came out of nowhere! I'm very much enjoying this series!
Something I really like is that the horror elements of this series aren't an unknown. Instead, it's only the viewer that's in the dark. There's something unsettling about how everyone regards the strangers as just another thing they have to deal with. There's horror in how banal it's thought of.
