If he did a crowdfunding campaign or if he got public investment -- major funding that's when his clock started -- from what it sounds like that was years ago. Which is why he also spoke of his new passion -- the little autonomous car.

The world needs more people like Christopher Hoffmann!! Since i have aged and had some changes after i reached 40 in my health i needed to sort out Transport as i use to ride a 10 Kilo racer as i had DVT then got Emphysema and struggled with breathing and the light bike was easier to ride, so i stopped smoking and started saving, i have saved over £4.000 in a year and that was just on Tobacco, i saved over £10,000 from stopping smoking cannabis,, and the UK Hospitals do not help or Supply wheelchairs to use or hire and now i am walking again i can't go far without the use of transport ,, so i am waiting for my new Scooter to come, i did not buy a Mobility Scooter as i can not fit or get one in my home so i looked at two wheeled electric scooters which are banned in the UK? but you can buy an electric bike legally?, Welcome to the UK,, the laws are fucked up and hard to Overstand and those who Understand speak Legalize ,, so i can fit my Segway Ninebot Max G30 in my hallway, i can carry it on to the bus when making big journeys, and i can carry it or pull it when i go to see the doctor, i think 2 wheeled electric scooters are perfect for people with disabilities like myself and have little room, it will give me more freedom to get out and explore and if travelling around the UK and going from Youth Hostel to Youth Hostel,, i am also starting a RUclips Channel as i have a great idea and i can video my journey and keep it going !! so i can do my bit for the planet before i go back home,,, peace in 2020 the year of Balance,,,

Just saw a Ryno this weekend in the park and was very intrigued. I was riding my Onewheel and we crossed paths around a corner. It was like something out of Blade Runner. All black, the ride was in all black leather and pads. So here I am at 6 in the morning researching and found Ryno. I'm interested in purchasing. Christopher, this is a great background to the Ryno line. I like the inspiration and future of Ryno ideas. Urban valet vehicles. Great idea leave the parking to the AI.

I like the big fat wheel it has. I have used the small wheel electric scooters which were lethal in the wet, sliding out from under you, having no grip on smooth surfaces. Also, feeling every bump in the road. This bike looks real comfortable and safer.
And not to mention 1,000 times more convenient because you can just take the gotway, kingsongs, and ninebots in all buildings with you. And on trains, in cars, and etc.
Also you are not flailing your arms around on an EUC... When you are learning to ride one 'yes' but not when you have Learnt. I dont do this but if i wanted I could use my mobile and make a phone call if I needed.. I could not do that if my arms were flailing!..
I seen a video about 15 to 20 Years ago where a guy Had made that same bike his was a little more sleek But he had some kind of contract and was making them for the local police to patrol on in the city or town that they lived in so I definitely don't think you are the very 1st one to invent that or have that idea

Mark Plott I own multiple Electric Unicycles and get around on them very often, and in one city where I live, they are actually not allowed on the road for whatever reason. In the other place where I live during the summer though these are the best “toys” that allow me to not use a car and still go at car speeds with ridiculous range ;)
Purely as someone who rides everything like a nutter sort of, I'd like to see one where in an emergency stop it would let the rider go over the wheel but lean them back in the seat in the process so as to slow the momentum gradually and create a nicer feel to it.
I remember seeing these years ago and thinking that it looked pretty cool and that I'd like to buy one. But all this time later you still can't and their web site seems to show that they've given up on the idea of building them and just want to sell the rights. But they've also designed a hydrofoil and mini car which they also can't build and want to sell the rights to. They're competing with plenty of product that you can actually buy and all they've got is a cool idea.
Disappointed that I have no new news of whether any production of these will occur. It is a great idea & cannot believe that the company cannot produce this & make a huge profit. The standup devices & electric skateboards are all the rage now & this seems to be a very good venture . I'm hoping he makes the huge jump into mass production ..........
I love the design. How does it break? The body momentum will try to push you forward. On a two wheeler, you hold it by your hands and it gets transferred into the front wheel. I’m guessing they rely on the giro to stop you from being thrown forward. It’s ok at mild breaking at slower speeds, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it in an emergency breaking.

How bout an inline three wheel, four passenger car? Wheels would be multidirectional, gimbal, drive. Or maybe two "outrigger" balance weights that would pivot upwards to the centerline of the vehicle as needed to balance like a tightrope walker's pole. They wouldn't necessarily need to be long only heavy enough to effect the weight of the car.

There's plenty of electric unicycles being sold; for example the Gotway MSuper X gives you 35 mph, 30 mile range, and has an optional seat.
And not to mention 1,000 times more convenient because you can just take the gotway, kingsongs, and ninebots in all buildings with you. And on trains, in cars, and etc.

I'll stick with the basic road bike because it's free to ride and the only energy I have to worry about is what my body can make.

I remember seeing these years ago and thinking that it looked pretty cool and that I'd like to buy one. But all this time later you still can't and their web site seems to show that they've given up on the idea of building them and just want to sell the rights. But they've also designed a hydrofoil and mini car which they also can't build and want to sell the rights to.
They're competing with plenty of product that you can actually buy and all they've got is a cool idea.

Disappointed that I have no new news of whether any production of these will occur. It is a great idea & cannot believe that the company cannot produce this & make a huge profit. The standup devices & electric skateboards are all the rage now & this seems to be a very good venture . I'm hoping he makes the huge jump into mass production ..........

Ok enough already how much does it cost and where can I get one?
I love the design. How does it break? The body momentum will try to push you forward. On a two wheeler, you hold it by your hands and it gets transferred into the front wheel. I’m guessing they rely on the giro to stop you from being thrown forward. It’s ok at mild breaking at slower speeds, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it in an emergency breaking.
So, what’s the current status? Any updates?

keep at it guys i love what youve done would love to work with you on such interesting projects and your story is so inspiring funny you talk about people dressing up as expression i dress up doing nunchucks but im also very much like you love to build random stuff a bit of a inventor my downfall is lack of education around money i've never had the resources to do what you have and im slowly learning to get that sorted hopefully one day ill be in a similar place my dream if i had the money was almost exactly what your doing now designing alternative transport and leisure vehicles any way i wish you the very best in the future

How bout an inline three wheel, four passenger car? Wheels would be multidirectional, gimbal, drive. Or maybe two "outrigger" balance weights that would pivot upwards to the centerline of the vehicle as needed to balance like a tightrope walker's pole. They wouldn't necessarily need to be long only heavy enough to effect the weight of the car.
