I travel to the gorgeous Upper Peninsula of Michigan to summit Mount Arvon, the tallest point in Michigan. After reaching the Zion Lutheran Church, I followed the blue signs by car which led me all the way to the summit. I ended the day by watching a beautiful sunset on the shore of Lake Superior.
At 1,979 feet above sea level, Mount Arvon is the tallest point in Michigan. It is located just outside the lakeside village of L'Anse in Baraga County. In my short time spent in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I quickly discovered that this is an amazing yet underrated part of the country. I would love to visit this area again and continue exploring the beautiful landscape and coastline.
This is part of a 3 day road trip I took across the Midwest to summit 4 state high points in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. This was the third of those 4 summits. If you enjoyed this video, consider subscribing so you can follow along as I make my way to the top of the tallest point in each of the 50 US states.
    Thanks for watching!

The drone footage above Mt Arvon is great. The weather and clear skies really helped out!

Didn’t have much time since I was trying to get 4 high points done on a short trip. I was very impressed with the UP though, and would love to return and explore some more!

Excellent video Kent! I am an ultrarunner from Michigan and have run the route from the church to Mt. Arvon many times. There are also a lot of great running trails to other large lookouts around this site. It is very cool that you added the bonus trip footage up to the Copper Harbor area. That is one of my favorite places to solo camp on the water. Keep up the amazing adventures and I will look forward to seeing more content!

I could have done that! Camped at Big Eric's Bridge State Forest Campground near Skanee in 2007 and assumed by looking at the map that Mt. Arvon simply couldn't be reached without a 4wd with at least ten feet of ground clearance. Oh, and I've seen the movie "Deliverance". Just sayin'.
    Awesome drone footage!

Great video! I actually just did that exact same highpoint trip you did in that order this past weekend. Unfortunately I did not have as pleasant of an experience on Mount Arvon as you did. It had snowed the week before and did not melt off by the time we got there. We had to park about 2 miles from the parking lot and hike the rest of the way in the wet cold snow, something we were not prepared for. But we did make it so I guess that's all that matters.

Oh wow! That's crazy, I bet they get a ton of snow up there. Congrats on the summit though!

I think there are bears in Michigan, but I’m guessing encounters with them are rare. Bears usually keep their distance, especially if you stay together as a group and make plenty of noise.
