Thoroughly enjoyed watching the horses and listening to the music. Shoshone is looking so good. He seems unworried and paying close attention to what Pat wants. Occasionally the nose goes out, but most of the time he's bent at the poll and well in control of himself. You can actually see the work ethic Pat talks about. Very cool horse.
One of your best! Love woven in a song. That pony has a bright future keeping Deb mounted safe. Love from Maryland. You have brought me many hours of education reasoning and solitude. Joyce Miller, RN
You are so spot on about roping & unknown horses!!!! Your music & whole video very well done. The view from your round pen is quite magnificent . Thank you for all you wisdom in & around & about the horse. Much appreciated.
Great video. Nice to see horses that are not reactive and understand their job. I appreciate the time and effort that has gone into these horses. Patience and persistence, that is the core of it.
I had asked your thoughts on stirrup length. I lengthened mine one hole and noticed a big difference in the ride and comfort. I’m now riding the horse and not the saddle if that makes sense. Also at my age a helluva lot easier to get on! FYI I live in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada. Pat has commented that he likes to know where people are writing from. Really enjoy your channel, down to earth no bs ! Thanks to this Chinese flu! , I’ve binged watched all your videos. Take care
Pat and Deb thanks for the videos. I learn a lot from you and thank you for that. Just curious what price range a good horse like Shoshone or Prieto or Bugs are in if you don’t mind sharing? What is your opinion that someone just wanting a good safe horse should look at spending. Thanks!!
Shoshone is Pat’s horse so he’s not for sale. Prieto and Bugs each sold for $5000. That’s what we get for all of the ranch horses that we import from Baja. I’m sure there are good horses out there for less money but we think that’s a fair price for the horses we sell.
Kent from Minnesota they both look awsome just wondering how many times the buck skin has been roped? I got a 12 year old 16 hand quarter horse with an attitude I think I'll try that roping him. He's been sitting quite a while no fault of his. I got a better one I go to.
Yesterday I ordered a King rope. The person who took my order had not heard of “Pat’s signature” rope. Then I asked for a “5/16 nylon soft lay 60 footer” and the person said yes they had those and took the order. My question is, are they the same?
I always thought a Criollo was a breed that originated in Argentina, or is it more of just a south american breed? I hear from my gaucho amigos that they wouldn't ride anything else than a Criollo horse.
why do humans take it on themselves to determine whether a horse wants this or that? how about a sanctuary? that way they are not forced to do things humans want? i would assume that a horse would rather be rescued and left alone and loved instead of having a rope around their neck, and what is the end result for this horse? you clearly do not love animals because you are riding, wearing cow skins and exploiting them for the sake of this video, you just had to show this off. i have to ask why?
The music selection with the mountains in the background -- que Classico!
Mr. Puckett, you sir are a horseman's horseman. A genuine inspiration. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
You said it best. There's people like me that can rope a little bit and then there's Pat. He truly is an artist.

Wow! That’s a lot of videos!! Yes, we prefer to ride a long stirrup except for those first couple of rides on colts.
Really nice work to watch.
Love a horse with a good work ethic.
Have always been partial to the buckskins. Glad to know there's a song about it!
I like him, nice horse with an above average mind. Wish I knew someone like you years ago.
Great video: much appreciated.
Joaquin is a nice horse, Shoshone looking good. Smart man, knows when to say Yes Ma'am.
Doesn’t get no more cowboy than this.the cowboy horse and the background.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Joaquin doesn't seem much like a bandit. ;-)

Pat & Deb Puckett thank you. Now I have an idea from people I trust for what I need to spend for what I’m looking for. Thanks!

Joaquin has probably been roped since before he was weaned. Little kids in Mexico play with ropes instead of video games!
It looked like not much bothered him. Thank you!
What song is this??
When roping those horses do you just throw a hulahand or what loop do you throw?
It depends on what direction the horse is going and what part of the horse Pat is roping.
What is the idea behind the logs set around the pen
They were already in there for a prior video.

Yes. I just call it Pat’s signature rope on OUR website.
Pat & Deb Puckett Muchas!
tratuin hahaha oh shit hahahah

It’s a term used in Mexico also for their mixed breed ranch horses.
What rope does Pat use?
The information on Pat’s favorite rope and where he gets it is on our links page: www.thedisciplinedride.com/links
Thanks for taking the time to reply
