Do you think the park should be at fault for his roller coaster death?

I can't believe I was at the park riding banshee only a few days before the accident. Never in my life did I think something like this could happen nowadays where rides are very secure and have gates everywhere stopping people from entering. Some people just don't have enough brain cells to comprehend common sense. While I feel terrible for the mans loved ones and family for dealing with his loss. I don't feel much remorse for the man himself. Like people always say "play stupid games win stupid prizes"

I was there. I saw him enter the restricted area just a few feet in front of me. The title of this video is inaccurate. Neither of the places shown on the video are where the train struck him. He was hit further back, nowhere near the front.
He and two young ladies came down from the loading station on the Fast Lane side of the stairs. I was approaching the stairs on the Fast Lane side. I had to stop because he was briefly blocking my access to the stairs. He was visibly pissed. He hopped over the handrail which was right next to a gate in the fence underneath the ride where the trains hit the final brakes and roll into the station. The gate is very close to the bottom of the stairs. He opened the gate, which had been closed and latched. The two young ladies with him were pleading with him not to go in there, but he wouldn't listen. He walked right into the restricted area like he owned the place. The gate had a large sign on it saying "Authorized Personnel Only".
My first thought was he'd lost something on the ride, they told him they'd get it at the end of the day, and that wasn't good enough for him. I go to lots of amusement parks, so I know how it works. He knew what he was doing. He made a choice. The two girls exited through the Fast Lane line.
People keep saying he hopped a couple fences. The areas where the train gets low to the ground are all fenced, so he had to hop one of those if they weren't gated (though they probably have gates so that the groundskeepers can cut the grass in there), but to get into the restricted area, he walked through a gate.
I was shocked, but thought that if I said something, I'd get him arrested, and didn't want him to get arrested, even though what he was doing was both illegal and dumb. Then I thought about previous accidents where riders were hurt or the trespasser was killed. I didn't want anyone to get hurt, but knew that was a real possibility, so I went up the stairs and told the attendant what I'd just seen.

@@rollacoaster421 which spot was he struck? Was it the spot where all the gravel was messed up? Would love for you to do an eyewitness video for us to post on here for everyone to see all the exact first hand info since no workers are allowed to say what they saw

@@CincyPhotography Exactly which spot, I don't know. It was one of the grassy areas toward the back of the ride. I was still in the ride station when he was struck. I can only say definitively where he entered the restricted area. When he opened the gate, the area beneath the ride was not mostly grassy. It was covered with large rocks with grass on the sides. He walked over the rocks toward the back of the ride area.
I didn't know that day that he'd been struck. While in the station after he'd been hit, I heard that one guest said they almost kicked him. I thought they were back there arresting him. I kept checking for the rest of the night to see if Banshee had re-opened, since I hadn't ridden it yet that day. I didn't know until I heard news reports the next day that he'd been hit.

@@CincyPhotography At the bottom of the stairs leading up to the loading station (to the left of the stairway if you're walking down the stairs) there is a gate in the fence underneath the ride. It was closed and latched. He undid the latch and walked through.
Based upon what I know now, he had just finished arguing with the attendant at the top of the stairs. When he got to the bottom of the stairs, he was on the left side of the stairway. The stairway is divided by a handrail for the main queue and the Fast Lane queue. He walked down the empty Fast Lane side. Directly to the left at the bottom of the stairs is where he jumped the handrail between the queue and the fence. The gate was only a few steps away once he hopped the handrail.

Great have you ever worked for an amusement park? Cause the warnings and signs all over the park for restricted access aren’t there for just show they are there for safety of not only you but other guests at the park. Personally I don’t think the fence should have to be high for people to use their brain and read the signs posted everywhere
