❤❤The only thing that will come close to the joy we experienced during Ren's 74/Message premiere yesterday is knowing at some point we are going to "hopefully" get to see Chris Liepe's face when he hears the insanity of Ren's falsetto that NOBODY was prepared for yesterday. Pretty sure he hit 14 ranges, and 14 versions of head/chest/high/low/vibrato/straight tones/knees and toes all in 3 minutes...❤❤❤ 😊😊

Something I really admire from Ren is how clear his enunciation is when he raps. In an interview (sorry, i can't recall which one) he said he thinks of rapping as a drum kit, and attributes his agility with it to all the time he spent practicing beat boxing.

Ren has a way of really bringing out the best of whoever he’s collaborating with. His talent is not just in his own performance but in the way he allows others to shine. We see this with Sam, Chinchilla, and The Big Push .

I think that's one of the things I really love about Ren's music, he uses the "Call and Response" to perfection in a lot of his songs whether it's singers or instruments

As a professional chef that works in fine dining kitchens for the last 15 years, Ren gives a look or waves his hand and EVERYYTHING switches instantly. When he waves his hand to to beat or glances at Sam, that’s like top level direction there. Like, “you know your job, you know yours. When I move my had like this, go…….” Fucking perfections.
This is one of my favourite live music captures on the web. Just two exceptionally talented mates, obviously enjoying each other's company & having fun with it, while they sing us a song they wrote!! o_O #Transcendent :)
Ren is the rhythmic constant. He said his first step was drums and beats which is how he develops his rhymes. This is my favorite version because it really showcases their talents and you could tell they were having fun.
My favourite version of this song, although the parking garage one is fun, too. But both Ren and Sam demonstrate such camaraderie in this. I love their back and forth approach. And they seem to love singing it together. Both of them were totally committed to their art, which is why they are enjoying success now.

this version has long been my favourite; however, the Angry Car Park Attendant gets a smile out of me every time.
This was probably the first Ren & Sam video I saw, and it hooked me immediately. Vocals, guitar, rhythm - I think this is their best collaboration. Every time I watch it, it gives me shivers and keeps me tramping my leg all way through.

I first found this song after enjoying his more current stuff. The difference in style turned me off at first, but I stuck it out.

Oddly enough, Sam sound absolutely the BEST on any version of this song in the ANGRY CAR PARK VERSION. Something possibly about performing in a garage (and the spectacular reverb - which gets even better in the stairwell) sets him ABSOLUTELY FREE! Ren, of course, kills it wherever.
Also highly recommend his newest, BACK IN '74, for some Ren tricks you haven't heard yet, because none of us had. What planet is HE FROM???
