Demand. I like that. Perhaps we'll have better luck 'demanding' from China than we do demanding from Apple Computer (oops, I forgot, they dropped the 'computer' in the name when they got beyond being an innovative startup, way before they built their six generations of a one-and-only watch design). I prefer 'influencing' China to innovate, as they have shown with this watch they can, and are willing, to do.

Thank you so much for alerting me to the APPLLP MAX! I tried to buy a second TicWris MAX from GearBest, but the purchase fell through and I had to get a refund. Soon after that, one of the straps broke off the one I already have, but that's okay. Now it's a miniature clock! Anyway, I should have kept paying more attention to your channel. But thank God I had no idea there were improved versions, because I can't afford to buy them all as they came out. But now this APPLLP MAX looks like a full generation of evolution as opposed to mere upgrades, so I'm animated about the product! I watched this video and read all the comments, and I'm looking forward to your full review. Thanks for the kind words, WD. Yea, pretty amazing when you're away for awhile then check back in you can really see the market improvements over time. This is radically different in many ways, but will still have bugs to chase down and its own incremental improvements we will all desire. But its a step in a different direction, and that's good.
Mr. Ticks, can you ask the companies to release an Android watch phone with an e-ink display? It could be black and white or they even make color e-ink display that looks amazing. The huge advantages would be: 1) battery life would dramatically increase, 2) excellent outdoor visibility 3) thinner, lighter and more compact 4) display is not harmful to the eyes. That would be a game changer!!! Look at the Hisense A7 and A7 CC smartphones that were recently released.
There hasn't been strong interest in e-ink for any watches, let alone Android watches, though I have reviewed a few in the past few years. Generally the refresh rate and color saturation is so poor, especially for things like video or scrolling, that I doubt they will look into it. With Pebble's demise, e-ink kinda stopped developing.
@@SWT Thank you very much for the reply. I have seen reviews that you have done of android watches with transflective LCDs but none with e-ink displays. With the new Kaleido color e-ink display the color saturation is improved and the refresh rate is good for watching videos although I find that watches are not that great for watching videos or looking at photos.

I wish these Android watches had better GPS sensors : like Galileo enabled for accuracy in Europe for my outdoor activities. I bought all models since the beginning and the most accurate is the one in lem12 but still far away from Garmin, Sunto, Coros devices.
Yea, fitness and health are not high priorities on Android watches, so GPS and heart rate sensors are just basic. Pretty much folks need at least two watches, an Android watch and a true sports/health/fitness watch for everything else. I don't see it changing anytime soon either as the focus is on bigger screens and better cameras and not GPS, NFC, or biometric sensors.
I love it and especially that it comes in rose gold. I agree with the someone who stayed it should come with Android 10 at least or have the ability to update it when setting up the watch. Also, because in the video it was mentioned that it can be used as a small phone, that sets precedence for having an 8mp front camera if possible. But, just wow remarkable regardless.
Good suggestions. As this is the first of this model, there's lots of room for improvements!
Nooiiiiiiiiyyyyce! I could probably print a mount that puts the watch face on the inside side of the arm so that I don't have to do as much of a twist action to see and use the screen.
Yea, great idea! You'll see in the longer review that I tried loosening the band a bit so I can rotate it around to put the watch on the inside. Might offer better protection for the screen, too.

Outside of putting your finger over the speaker on this smartwatch. Is there a Volume Control on this Smartwatch ???
In bluetooth mode I understand you can't make and receive calls but will it at least show caller id ? Or is there an update by now that allows you bluetooth calls.

I'm working on a series of 20 min or so videos as there's a lot to cover. First one goes live tomorrow. I was hoping there might be an XDA forum on A9 smartwatches, but nobody's got the time I guess.
Have you inserted a sim card in the watch. I believe I have tried every way and it still says no sim card or sim card malfunction. Could you post the correct way to install it?
Love seeing the evolution of these watches. One potential problem I see on the horizon is that more and more cell phone carriers are requiring all phones have VoLTE. And not just that, but only certain brands (Apple, Samsung, Motorola, etc) only the big names are being allowed on the service (they call it a "whitelist"). I am on AT&T/Cricket service and they no longer allow me to place my sim card in just any phone without automatically blocking my phone number and requiring me to call in and supply the IMEI number on the phone, and it must have VoLTE. Any one else experiencing this issue? AT&T, Verizon, and T-mobile all seem to be switching to this list. I am no longer able to use my Jelly Pro phone because Unihertz is not on the whitelist. And I doubt these Chinese brands of phone/watches are either. 😭

@@SWT This isn't supposed to happen till Jan of 2022 but some carriers are jumping the gun. It's because they are dropping 2G and 3G service, and now streamlining which phones can be used with them. It's also a sales ploy to get you to buy the phones they're pushing on their sites.
Only thing keeping it from being perfect is no IP68 water resistance like the LEM T that I got
There's actually a lot of things keeping it from being perfect, which is why it's not really ready for a full review yet. Even then, there will be stuff missing, as always. In truth, there is no such thing as a perfect Android smartwatch. Close, possibly, but never perfect.
Idk I received mine yesterday and it detached from the band's and fell in a pool of water this morning. I have yet to have any issue with it at the moment.

That way I can expect lots of inquiries are about to hit, as has been the case with the s999. Very few folks knew LOKMAT was releasing this one though. The focus has primarily been on the s999, which I'm also trying to get to compare with the APPLLP MAX.

You and me both! It's a solid build. I get the sense that it's waterproof but I don't see any actual ratings on it. Definitely the back is sealed and sweat proof, including the brass charging contacts which are on the side.

I got the new S999 good luck keeping it on the band, the plastic cradle is so flimsy so shitty that merely walking will allow it to dislodge and hit the ground 😳
The latch is tricky to get it to snap into place, but when you do, the watch module shouldn't fly off. Fuss with it until you get it to work.

Wow, I wish I could help, but I don't have any involvement in their purchasing process. You many need to try and cancel out the order that used the coupon first and wait awhile for it to be processed. Otherwise, try buying from the other site. End price should be $189 before shipping, at least that's the current pricing.

The screens on my Ticwris Max started ghost touching a few months after I bought it. Think I purchased from a less than reputable dealer. Hopefully this device is better, because it looks amazing.
Sorry to hear about your Ticwris Max problems. This one looks like good build quality and I haven't been having any touch issues. Guess that's one good thing about having the black bezels around the edge to minimize ghost or close touches.
How do you bypass the pattern lock screen just using the hard key?
You need to put in the pattern and cancel it so the watch is unlocked.

I prefer Banggood as the smoothest source with least problems. Aliexpress vendors don't have the breadth and delivery system that are set up by Banggood, which is a bit of an issue during COVID. You'll notice most of my review watches of all kinds come from Banggood.

We really need a big watch without bezels, with double sim slot and Microsd card, best camera... So we can use it as a sandalone Phone...... It is so easy.

how to adjust the volume while watching You tube on the DM100
My favorite way is to install Floating Toucher and setting up the volume+ control on the main screen, that way I can touch the dot and bring it up on top of RUclips and adjust the volume then put it away. You can find Floating Toucher here: tinyurl.com/androidwatches
Does the appllp have bluetooth calling
I’ve had the older version of the S999 and the front camera was way better on that one. On the new version the quality is bad and way too dark. Why is that are there more people with the same problem? Maybe an update?

Yes, physically the same (though I haven't seen an S999 yet) but the firmware may be slightly different.
What app do you use for those animated backgrounds in LemT?
The stock ones are built into the watch, like the fireplace. Others are added by custom face developers like Al Rod. There's a link to his creations in the show notes under the LEMT video.

Suggest you follow the tutorial I posted on setting up a new Android watch and apply it to the Prime 2. The process is the same. I'm repeating parts of it in the upcoming review of this APPLLP MAX watch but didn't do a separate one for the Prime 2.

Yep, it's got that 'feel' but with better overall specs.
Need something better to charge it with then pins. Always have the same issue, they quit working properly.
At least they are on the side now and not underneath where they can contact sweaty skin.

All the other changes are exactly what the watch neede to improve. They have come a far way but, the options I listed are still important improvements that remain to be accomplished.

Yes it will, but you need 3rd party app like Settings Search to access the Accessibility menu like I've demoed in our tutorials before.

Any idea if this watch will be updated to Android 10? My company mandates any Android device connecting to company resources have at least Android 10, and may soon be Android 11.

Never tried Zoom on a smartwatch. Interesting idea. It's got the front camera so the hardware is there to make it work.

It's the same process as with the other Android watches, and I've done several tutorials over the past six years regarding everything about watch faces from designing them to installing them. You basically need to drag watch face folders into the "clockskin" folder on the watch, then refresh the watch face index by rebooting the watch or going to the end of the thumbnails and tapping the curved arrow at the 10 o'clock position on the screen. It doesn't make sense to do the same tutorial over and over for each new Android watch that comes to market, Justin.

On my lemfo lem 4 pro the android 5 is on it for me is way too old, on the dm100 at least the android 7 is on it I'm thinking how best to upgrade the android as high as possible on both smartwatches, because there is definitely no on both watches update to android will increase there, does anyone have a tip to increase the two clocks the android?

Sorry, no Bluetooth calling on Android watches beyond Android 5.1 and a few Android 6 versions.
I begin to see the future of smatch watch is rectangular and foldable, Beyond certain diameter aka 2" circular watch face is ackward and ugly. So 2.5" rectangular with foldable screen removable is desireable and of my wish 4g/64gb excellent!
Now we're talkin'! Yea, make this puppy foldable and dockable and we'll really have something mainstream folks will love.

Yea, the APPLLP MAX has the speaker in top right near the screen so simple to cover it with your finger if you need to silence it quickly.

Hey, so I found a work around to try and keep the apps from shutting down. I have the s999 model which is the same specs,
1) install watchdroid and pair
2) install AOA , always on display any should work on Gplay
3)dim all brightness of AOA , to conserv batter, turn it up if u want to look pretty and bright
4),AOA even allows for app short cuts to display while the always on display is on and low, so u can even launch apps as well!

I have the ticwris max and s999 (,lokmat)
I chose the s999 (lokmat) because it's way faster in response, android 9 and the 4g ram makes a difference for me, plus the front camera is so handy I never have to whip out my phone and the debatable face is a plus, I will be returning my ticwris
How about battery life? I have not decided to buy it for that reason, my main use will be as a 4g hotspot

Doubt that will be coming to a watch platform, especially now that they have 64GB stock memory in them. Very few people would need more in a watch, even recording 4K video for hours at at time (which isn't possible anyway).

Probably get better response if you post this on the Ticwris MAX video. The APPLLP MAX is a totally different watch by a different company produced in a different factory and running different software and firmware.
did you contact the seller? I know this sounds stupid but they would be the first person I would be talking to
Too much bezels ( tell them that thick bezels Make technology look old and retro ) and if there is no Bluetooth 5 with calling its a fail. and please tell them it needs to be in a thinner case with bands that blend smoothly from the case to reduce the boxiness
For the guy who said only adding IP68 waterproofing would make it perfect, and I said there's no such thing as a perfect Android smartwatch, with your comment GORGONISMZ Truth, I rest my case.
@@SWT Yeah perfection is not possible but this watch needs some basic attributes to make it a contender that improves on the older ones at this point
I received mine yesterday. The only downside is that the phone/watch tends to come detached from the wrist band quite a bit. So it will be very easy to lose. Hopefully there's a solution for this issue.
If you really lock it in place, it won't detach. It takes a bit of work, as you'll see in my upcoming full review video, but if you check it by pulling on it, you will know if it is securely attached.

That was a main concern for me too, that it may detach and get either damaged when landing or even lost...

It should come with Android 10 at least. Android 12 is just around the corner...
Nah, they wanted to rebuild the OS with a different look. The Android 10 implementation is already out by the same company that did the earlier Android versions. See some of the other videos if you're after Android 10.

I haven't been exploring alternate launchers on these watches as I'm overloaded just keeping up with stock stuff. The tech crew at www.fullandroidwatch.org generally dive deeper into alternate launchers, watch rooting, etc., so you might ask there.

FYI: For what it's worth, I installed a launcher called "Total Launcher" on a "TicWris MAX 4G Smartwatch/Phone" I used a theme called "☆Trek☆ Total Launcher Theme" and was able to successfully modify and reconfigure it four or five times before moving on to tablets. If Nova doesn't work on the particular watch that you have, you might give it a try. Good luck.
