- I own nothing... Recently on TBN, a nice little Commissioned Reunion featuring most of the former members and singing the classics. Tye Tribbet got to have fun with them on stage too.
Still watching this with so much Joy in 2024! Commissioned has blessed me so much over the years.
It's rare to have groups like this that can sing good live and each member is capable of leading a song

Words cannot explain what Commissioned meant not only to me, but the culture of young people, coming up in the Church. This group helped to keep my heart alive for the things of God and the Church.

Commissioned pulled me from the hardcore hip hop bands of the 80's... NWA, BDP. They very instrumental in my life being saved. The anointing was all over them.

Huge fan of Commissioned since I was a teen. They're from Detroit, and not only a dynamic gospel group, but businessmen, they had a store in Northland Mall, where they sold fine leather goods, etcetera. So good to see them performing together again..

These guys don't know how much they and there music had on me my faith and how I viewed quality music... esp gospel music. Every album and track was an "Oh this is my favourite" moment. The harmonies, the lyrics, the music, the anointing...don't get me started!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👢

OH MY GOODNESS! I would’ve gone bananas if I had been there! They were my first Gospel concert in college back in the mid ‘80s! Back when they all were skinny! lol I never missed a Commissioned concert In Rochester NY.
Rain or snow. It didn’t matter. I wasn’t missing my blessing!!! I miss this group and still have them on my playlist. Their music helped my faith walk as a young person. God bless TBN & Ty for showcasing their legacy of anointed music!!! Much love to Fred, Marvin, Keith and Michael and any others I’m missing!!!

I'm Mexican and even I'd never get that one mixed up, haha. I've been a fan since "I'm Going On" and still have that CASSETTE! My fav song is still their version of "Tis So Sweet". Gosh, I know all these songs. I guess I'm old cause no one in the crowd is even singing along!

This was great. I didn't grow up on Commissioned, but I did listen to several of Fred Hammond's hits. It was great to see him with his gospel roots. The lyrics were touching even in up tempo. May God bless every member and Gospel Nation Station for sharing.
The best come from Detroit. I'm so glad about this. Being a Navy brat, all we knew was Commissioned, Witness, The Winans.

Thanks for posting!! 💯 I would’ve liked to have seen Marvin Sapp... and they didn’t sing “Until My Change Comes” but I’ll take it. 🤦♂️😆 Commissioned proved that gospel music doesn’t have to have a Hammond organ and a stomp and a clap. It was gospel music with elements of R&B, funk and a twist of hip hop... love it!!

These phenomenal men ministered so powerfully in the 80’s and beyond. Their lyrics reached down deep to the soul, heart and spirit of everyone who listened. I’m not sure if they realized the magnitude of their music ministry. They totally revitalized music across the board-influenced many secular artists and groups. With anointed lyricist, musicians and singers such as Michael Brooks, Fred Hammond, Keith, Carl and Mitchell, Marvin Sapp, Marcus Cole their music will live for decades to come. Let’s cherish, love and support here icons as they continue to “Go on in the name of the Lord”.

Been married 32 years, Commissioned Concert was the 2nd date my husband and I went on!!! Down through the years these brothers never disappoint and are still relevant as one of the greatest gospel groups ever!!! Waiting for the Commissioned Movie!!!

When I was a young man, bored in church, before I understood "Blessed Assurance" and "In The Garden", the Spirit of God flowed through Commissioned and the Winans and I gave my life to Christ. Now that I'm older, I can feel "Blessed Assurance" and the others just as the old folks did back in the day. God's Word came through this music and it did not return void. Praise Him.

They look great. I remember the old songs, songs that brought me through and uplifted me.
So Awesome to hear them! it was my father who passed away a month ago all time favorite grospel group. He had every record, cassette, and CD they ever made. He loved them so much he wanted us to play them at his funeral. He was excited about them coming back for this reunion. I know he is rejoicing in heaven to them! Awesome to hear them, wish marvin was there,they have become my favorite old school gospel group!
