- It was 15 years ago that Indiahikes was born, with a simple vision: everyone must trek.
Today, Indiahikes is India's largest and safest trekking organisation. Indiahikes has made the remotest of the Himalayas accessible to tens of thousands of trekkers, not only by documenting treks, but also by organising great treks.
But 15 years ago, the scenario was radically different.
In this video, Indiahikes founders, Arjun Majumdar and Sandhya UC, share their personal stories of what inspired them to start Indiahikes.
For Arjun, inspiration came from two most unlikely places, which egged him on to envision the concept of Indiahikes.
For Sandhya, it was a childhood dream come true when she came across the concept of Indiahikes. But how did she come to join Arjun on his journey? It's one of the most heart warming stories you'll hear.
Together, they take us back to their childhood, with anecdotes of what trekking was like back in the day.
