You all probably dont care at all but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
The Mingus pull is probably the strongest ive seen on here. RVG Stamped 60s copy. STRONG PULL. Not enough of these cats pull jazz out the bag. Always pumped to see that. Nice work sirs and madames.
Unrelated, but I would love to see Trent Reznor do one of these videos at Amoeba. Seeing his influences and current favorites would be great. I really enjoy this series though, so thank you for the videos!
We did an interview with them years ago before the lineup changed and we did ask them about music they were listening to around the 11 minute mark: www.amoeba.com/live-shows/detail-773#cat-most_recent_shows/
World music has always been around, it;s just more accessible today. Also for percussionists world music is the best place to draw inspiration. Rythem is a core aspect of music found in all cultures, and the diversity one can find by exploring a global bank is invaluable.
Somehow turned me onto a gospel album and I'm extremely un-fond of religion hah.'Tellin' It Like It Is!' by The Art Reynolds Singers, spine tingling. Wish it wasn't virtually impossible to hear or buy..
I guess they could have, but then again it's what they want to show, not what you want to show on the video. You can make your own video and edit it the way you like.
R.I.P. Richard Swift
Underrated genius. A decade ahead of his time.
Richard Swift, you had awesome taste in movies. Hope he got to watch that lupin the 3rd movie before he passed
I'm a simple man, I see the Arcs, I press like
same.
Nick is such a savage bassist! he is one of the unsung GOATs of the era, no question! ALSO, the unsung MVP of the Arcs!! Much Love Brotha!!
100% correct. He's a tremendous bassist.
Honestly I clicked the video just to see more of dans picks

@Marcelo Kairo instablaster :)
So many good music recommendations to listen to in this episode! Thanks Amoeba and the Arcs
5 Expert Musicians sharing their innovations of the moment lol! This was an awesome watch! Love all the soul albums they have!
The Mingus pull is probably the strongest ive seen on here. RVG Stamped 60s copy. STRONG PULL. Not enough of these cats pull jazz out the bag. Always pumped to see that. Nice work sirs and madames.
I love Dan's sincerity and geniuine love of music.

Truly unappreciated music. I personally prefer The Arcs over The Black Keys
That's why they're so good musicians they're very open mind
I live in SJ and have to commute to SF to go to the nearest Ameoba, im only 16 but i relish in vinyl and love being around it. What do
I live in SJ, go to fuckin Rasputins or Streetlight records dude

Very diverse picks right here.
Wow, there's like one record there I'd ever heard of. Always nice when that happens.
Would love to see the Shins do one of these

awesome! thanks for that
Cool episode, a lot of good recommendations.
Woah didn’t know the guy from the black keys was in this band
clearly been asked before, but does every band/artist buy records themselves or are the records fronted by the store?
black saint and the sinner lady praise, yessir
yo wtf happened to the black keys? Did they split? I thought the arcs was just gonna be Dans side project lol
TBK are still going
Real dope pics!
excellent shares
Anyone catch the name of that vietnamese band? Looks funky
The London Is The Place For Me comps are excellent, seek them out!
I love the way they're all buying vinyls and Swift just bought a bunch of anime and nerdy shit.
I love those Ghibli movies mostly for the music. A lot of it is really great. so it's not far off from the picks of the other guys
When is the Earl Sweatshirt one coming out?
Monday
3:51 Perfect Dad
Lea Greenwood I KNOW, right? Calling her daughters stupid. Cringy af.
Really think those guys were hungover or high because of their sunglasses indoors but who knows
THE CREW.
Right ON! These cats dig deep!
Love you
I BUY RECORDS AND GIVE THEM AWAY TOO. AND I KEEP A HEALTHY COLLECTION FOR MYSELF.
I know you guys had dave grohl be great if you had a full foo fighters one
RIP Richard.
What are those nice glasses he's wearing
Joe Tex is the best thing in these bags!
Does anyone know the name of the Phairin Phonphibun song that played?
RIP Richard Swift
Will The King Khan and BBQ show ever do a what's in my bag ???
We did an interview with King Khan once upon a time: www.amoeba.com/live-shows/detail-1125#cat-most_recent_shows/
Thanks
I wear my sunglasses inside so I can, so I can.
Watchmen was pretty cool, but Batman v Superman is one of the worst and most disjointed movies I've ever seen. That dude is about to be disappointed.
It's so hip to buy and say you like World Music these days. It's like all these bands are trying to outdo each other.
Flowerdoodle2 that's because "these days" people have more access to international music than ever before
Did you not hear his explanation? He likes the rhythm. Dummy.
World music has always been around, it;s just more accessible today. Also for percussionists world music is the best place to draw inspiration. Rythem is a core aspect of music found in all cultures, and the diversity one can find by exploring a global bank is invaluable.
what if it's just because... he likes world music... god forbid
I suppose the simplest explanation, that they actually like the music, is too much to accept?
What kind of glasses does Leon Michels have on??
Grant Morris I wanna know it too
Gotta love hipsters. Or do I...? 🤔😜😘👏🏼
Somehow turned me onto a gospel album and I'm extremely un-fond of religion hah.'Tellin' It Like It Is!' by The Art Reynolds Singers, spine tingling. Wish it wasn't virtually impossible to hear or buy..
hey that guy on the far left of the thumbnail looks just like the guy from the black keys
It is and it says in the Description
Dan is so pretty
What's the particular Keith Hudson song in the episode?
Just listened through Entering The Dragon couldn't find out
The track is called 'Man From Shooters Hill'
What is the Juaneco Y Su Combo song that was played?
It's "El Agua Del Higueron" from the album "Masters of Chica Vol. 1."
look for juaneco y su combo - leyenda amazonica came out this year, remastered. sounds so clean compared to the others i have by them.
If you liked it, Try to listen: "Roots Of Chicha, Psychedelic Cumbias From Peru". Kickass album, Vol 1 & 2.
What's the ending song?
It's "Rosie (Ooh La La)" from the album "Yours, Dreamily"
Hi
I couldn't finish this one.
Could you try any harder to be hipster?
The guy with all the animated DVDs struck me as quite the dork. You are in a band, and didn't buy any music...really ?
I didn't know anyone pronounced it as "Cum b ah" someone needs to correct that man for his own good
You'd think the dude who fancies himself a "Cumbia fan" would know how to say the genre correctly. It's pronounced Coombia.
How culturally appropriate...
Wow, all that cool music and the end result from those guys is the screaming tedium of The Arcs' music.
Good joke
Cumbia, pronounced koom-bya not kam-bya , btw
yawwwwn
Why did Dan Auerbach have to talk so much? Why couldn't he have fallen in a well on the way to the store?
because he's an entitled ass dork...
It's called editing. That is how they edited and arranged the video.
javier B Couldn't they have edited in footage of him being run over by a steamroller?
I guess they could have, but then again it's what they want to show, not what you want to show on the video.
You can make your own video and edit it the way you like.
inyojelly Why do you all hate Dan? Do I detect a hint of jealousy?
Love the music choices. But grown men watching cartoons is sad.
Boy they picked some crappy music.
