luke louderback I live in the same area as Linus, or at least same city, his outside video's have been filmed in different cities, he was no where near the office while filming in the soccer field. I assume his office is located in Vancouver
remotaholic considering most of pornhubs videos are downscaled to 480p, I don't mind watching 1080p downscaled to 480p video of my neighbors wifes bush.
Thanks for another great review. I already have the Blade 350 QX3 and after a crash decided to transfer the "guts" to another frame that was easier to fix and mount additional equipment on (e.g.: FPV gear). I wish the original plastic molded frame was more durable, didn't have 42x10^100 tiny screws, and cost less than $35. I want to mention to other potential hobbyists that the PIDs for the flight controller are NOT modifiable. Therefore my transfer to a larger frame with a heavier mass is less stable. I knew this was a likely possibility, and unfortunately changed the flight characteristics drastically and frankly, it's unusable. I will be purchasing a stock body from my local Horizon Hobby dealer and will repurpose the 450mm frame for another build.
Here's something new, I'd like to see some reviews from you guys on *software*. I don't think I've ever heard/seen you say that it's not possible/plausible to do, so I'd be interesting!
theyre not drones. the only reason they are called drones is because of the popularity of the parrot ar drone. calling all rc multirotors "drones" is like calling all laptops "macbooks". you would slap someone if they said "hey i just bought a lenovo macbook!"
I got the PERFECT example: It´s like calling dolphins fishes! But seriously, I´m so pissed off by this whole drone thing, I wish people would just call multirotors what they really are...
A drone is a name given to a robotic vehicle. Generally in the hobby, any model aircraft, whether it is a modified foam plane or a quadcopter, that is capable of autonomous flight is a drone. AR Drones are drones because they are able to fly themselves, the Blade QX 3 is a drone because it can fly itself, a Blackout mini with a go pro on it is probably not a drone because most are built using flight boards that don't have autonomous capability.
Great video! I didn't know about this drone, and was planning on building one with a flight computer so my mom could take some aerial footage of properties she is trying to sell as a real estate agent, but this would be alot simpler. Also, for future reference, when you are talking about aerial maneuvers and maneuverability, the word is aerobatic, not acrobatic ;) Keep up the good work man, you're doing the world a favor with your videos making the realm of tech easy to get into for beginners. I built my first computer 3 years ago with the help of one of your guides, and I've been spreading the knowledge ever since!
Welcome to the channel John Inglis. Yes, really. Despite years of abuse from his lacki.... employees, suppliers, sponsors and viewers, he still insists that socks + sandals are the best footwear for all of the things. Stick around for more silliness in other tech related videos where the hosts taken themselves about as seriously as a dolphin high on shrooms.
Watching this after flying my 350QX3. Linus, if you are even somewhat experienced with traditional quadcopters, I only needed to read half of one packet. It is easier to watch the HH RUclips series instead though. But I suggest you get a DX8 to use alongside the drone. It can control Tue gimbal without losing other controls like on the DX4e
It's funny how I got a mail a few days ago about the Audio Technica MSR7's & few days later Linus enlightens me.. I get enough mails from Massdrop already :P
Linus, lets see a Quad build off between you and Luke. You each source a frame, motors, electronics, etc... and build your own. See who can get the best performance and flight times out of the same spec battery.
I have a gen 1 350 QX, loved it initially but as a video platform it fell short for a few reasons. The A prop failures killed 3 of them, the cnc adapters work great and allowed for more stability but less acrobatics. The GPS interference issue was fixed by simply selling a new model and not really offering much for those who made the second round possible. The quad is great for acrobatics (use the B props) and just enjoy the fun there. I went to a Phantom 2 with 2.4ghz FPV. I have that set at a 1 mile max range, and with a directional receiver antenna had no video issues with line of sight. The QX is a lot of fun in full manual mode / Stability but for video I did not find it the best option to go full on. This 3rd gen looks much better but seems to continue some of the initial issues. Good product for more budget oriented.
I would love to see some reviews/comparisons of where computing/electronics was 10 years ago vs today, 5 years ago vs today and so on. To kind of show some perspective of just how far we've come. You could review some older products and put them up against newer ones to see which functionality you miss and which functionality you are glad have come into today's products.
Awesome product. Can't wait for more of these awesome drones! I know so many people who would love these things, recording footage way up in the air is awesome. Maybe Go-Pro will partner and make a drone compatible with the Go-Pro's.
I've always liked to see more desktop/ regular microphones reviewed. Right now I have a Zalman microphone taped to the side of my headphones to make the mic sound better but I am in need of an Antlion or just a regular desktop microphone. Hopefully someone who loves audio as much as I do gets those pairs of headphones and mic combo!
To go along with your quad copter things you have been doing lately, you should review the Blade Nano qx. It's more of an introduction to the rc hobby. And gives a lot of experience that helps if you get into aerial photography.
Make Luke do a benchmarking etiquette video for each of the main components. Outline the key points to avoid variables, suggested environments/tools and accessories to validate things like power consumption and/or noise, etc.
I'd like to see more reviews for those headphones, they look really good! It would be really cool if Massdrop could manage to get some fancy 4K monitors, or even 120Hz 1080 monitors up for purchase.
LinusTechTips May I suggest reviewing the 'Yuneec Q500' if U've not already have done against the 350 QX3 for the Wi-Fi feed. I've just purchased a BNF QX3 and only have a Gopro Hero. hoping to upgrade, when i win the lottery, to get the C-GO2 gimbal camera. which I here is pretty cool by your video. Incendently I unfortunately crashed my QX3 and have to spend out over a £100.00 for new parts. I didn't relise that the shells (different part numbers) where different, had to modify my new shell becuase the gimbal socket was on the landing gear of old one (witch I cut to get it off). I made a clamp out of a piece of plastic to secure the socket in the hole of the bottom of new shell (cos' no clamp or screws came with the new shell) and the screws I got out of and old kids 'walky-talky' watch that fitted nicely. Iam now just waiting on the GPS mast & antenna from 'NZ Hobbies' they where the only ones that had them instock. Anyway fingers crossed I'm hoping to be up and fying soon. I am in process of making a video of the experience so please watch and give advice when I get it uploaded cheers Martin.
What I DO like is to see a comparison between different Quads at different price point, something that even TESTED still missing given their heavy drone coverage.
Drones have gotten so diverse it depends what you wana do. For filming use one of the large 6 axis gimble ones "booring". For EPIC FUN :D get a drone like a "Storm Racing Drone Type - A" with FPV goggles and nerf disk launcher attachment for some deathmode fun! #Futuresport
This is my entry to the giveaway. One thing I would LOVE to see, is more SCRAPYARD WARS. Maybe a bundle of series every 3 months. So every 3 months they do a used, 300$, 500$, and 600-700$ built pc. Maybe even do whole setups, with that normal set budget for the pc (300$, 500$, etc..) Plus a (200$, 300$, and 400$) budget for a monitor, mouse, keyboard, headphones, etc..etc.. etc.. And have basically the same format for each series. But have it be very open as well, don't make any limits on where you can get deals. Thats something that needs to say open. I would *love* to see dozens of "seasons" of this in a couple years. This would be a perfect way to test out used pc parts. Over time, you would obviously encounter scams of many types, broken parts, etc.. etc.. etc.. *Linus* would then be able to give us all *tech* *tips* on how to do well on craigslist, ebay, etc.. What scams to watch out for, how to deal with scams, and other people, etc.. This could even cut down on scamming on these websites a lot. If people aren't falling for them anymore. Maybe you could even make each "series" maybe even a week long. Or longer, so you can wait for shipping, and find the absolute best deals. Often on craiglslist, ebay etc.. you need to wait days for a really good deal to pop up. So giving a week, (you don't need to make deals every day, just wait until a really good deal pops up) to buy items, would allow for some CRAZY deals. I'm absolutely positive that if you took longer to do the sales, you could have gotten easily a core 2 quad and r9 290, (linus' pc plus Lukes,) for under 300$ (including the rest of the pc of course =D) I seriously feel that this could be a HUGELY popular series. Maybe not right away, but definitely in a handful of seasons.
AlbertoScrubington I've never posted on the Linus Forums before. I'm sure I would love it. But how do I get started? I never really got into posting on forums? Do I just make an account? What section should I post it under? Is there anything I should do specifically to make it more popular. Or any rules to follow?
IrishSunburn if you break any rules im sure they will be nice and tell you... Also you should made a thread most likely in the videos section and you could get people that agree, and I believe that more of the linus crew will notice. I just signed in with my steam account also
Linus I would like to see a video talking about spare parts availability of computer cases. Maybe a review comparing modems and their effect on internet connectivity? Idk more cheap useful tech is always great to see
the 350qx3 is a great quad. yes, you should definitely practice with a small quad first. the 350 can be as sedate as you want , or can be a rocket. AP mode is the only really usable stable mode. Play around with that. It' stable, but can fly to the limits you've programmed into the 350. Good for hovering, video, and landing. Switch to Stability mode, press the throttle up and it shoots straight up like a rocket. No boundaries, so be careful. It's fun. Race around with Stability mode, bring it home with AP mode. I've broken a few props, mostly due to my carelessness. But props are cheap, buy a bunch. Attach a mobius for cheap great quality video. It's a rocket in Stability mode.. and more in Agility mode. I haven't even tried Agility, since I don't have a large space to fly. I have not experienced any breakage other than props. Already a member to Massdrop. I'd like an overview of the new "generic" (non Cherry) mechanical key switches, I'd like to know more about them and how they stack up to Cherry's flavors. Possibly a crazy build your own mechanical keyboard video with lots of different kinds of switches.

Loving the idea of these Quad videos!!! Please review the "Storm Racing Drone Type - A" with FPV goggles!!!!! :D Nerf disk launcher attachment for deathmode. This is a sport of the future in the making!!
I would actually prefer the Bebop. It may also be the looks, but I definitely like the bundle you reviewed in terms of user friendlyness and robustness.
i'd like to see you do a review on all the different types of keycaps(construction material, backlighting capability...etc). Also, I would love to see a video explaining NVMe and all the MOBO's currently supporting it and also the initial MOBO's from the z97 early stage launch like the ROG Maximus VII Hero.
I would love to see a review of the trackball that is currently on Massdrop. I thought about joining the drop, but I am not to certain how much I would like it. It would mostly be used as a 3D mouse for CAD and other related things.
I know you said you wouldn't but a Pebble Time review would be nice. I'm an original Pebble backer and will be upgrading, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
Just a heads up, you gave out your exact latitude and longitude at around 6:28
its the park he was at not the office
whether its the office or park, more people know thanks to you.
it would be really hard to fine where the office is from there. its a very large residential area
luke louderback The one with the 30000 rads on the outside, lol
luke louderback I live in the same area as Linus, or at least same city, his outside video's have been filmed in different cities, he was no where near the office while filming in the soccer field. I assume his office is located in Vancouver
5:00 epic win! Nice video, as always!
Woudn't it be nice to lay in bed with a glass of wine, while watching live feed on my ipad, of my neighbors bedroom.
In 480p woo hooo ....-__-
MrLunithy no, in 1080p 60fps
MrLunithy The QXC or QX3 or QX4 w/e you wanna call it has a 1080p 60 fps camera (optional) as he said in the video.
Jaymes Stewart true, but the live feed is of far lower resolution.
remotaholic considering most of pornhubs videos are downscaled to 480p, I don't mind watching 1080p downscaled to 480p video of my neighbors wifes bush.
This was really fun to watch. The large sweeping shots.
I wonder what would happen if I threw an emp in Linus's house.....
Linus would find you
And He would kill you
with all the tech u ruined
then feed you to the fishes
and then slap your family with those fish
Thanks for another great review. You mean quad copters right cause that's what the aircraft he flew was and what most people will fly
You should probably look up the definition of the word drone before making comments like this. By your logic cars shouldn't be called vehicles.
nvm
Great video! I didn't know about this drone, and was planning on building one with a flight computer so my mom could take some aerial footage of properties she is trying to sell as a real estate agent, but this would be alot simpler. Sandals n socks ??? Really???
thought the same..
You must be new here ;D
kinky right?
it's really comfortable

Definately just pulled his zipper DOWN at 5:05 (watch that arm)
I love the new Intro!
Uuhh the title and description say qxc
***** fixed lol. Nick didn't know.
LinusTechTips You forgot to change the initial comment, it still says QXC.
LinusTechTips There WAS something Nick DIDN'T KNOW!? :OOO
LinusTechTips it still says QXC in the description of the video.
LinusTechTips still says QXC
It's funny how I got a mail a few days ago about the Audio Technica MSR7's & few days later Linus enlightens me.. I get enough mails from Massdrop already :P
Stop reviewing those baby toys, build a custom multicopter please.
Love the Quadcopter Videos you are making! Please keep it up :)
I would love to see you do more video/camera related reviews! Your cameraman is great on camera.
welcome to Malaysia, Linus

The Bravo V2 Headphone Amplifier looks pretty awesome. I love all the exposed components and the ability to modify it if you so desire.
Good vidoe and love that you have Mass drop as a sponsor. learned about them though you and i have got got some sweet deals! :P
We break it you buy it ! nice intro when you are a tech channel
Awesome product. Can't wait for more of these awesome drones! I know so many people who would love these things, recording footage way up in the air is awesome. Maybe Go-Pro will partner and make a drone compatible with the Go-Pro's.
A review would be great. And thanks for mentioning that awesome site. Haven't heard of it before but I definitely will use it a lot I think :D
Looks great but the price tag is a tad high you should do a DIY series and build one
Linus is love Linus is life
hope you'll have a good journey
I've always liked to see more desktop/ regular microphones reviewed. Wouldn't mind seeing those headphones reviewed! Or just a general roundup of headphones like MKBHD does sometimes.
Parking in front of a fire hydrant and flying near power lines. Linus lives on the edge!
Make Luke do a benchmarking etiquette video for each of the main components. Outline the key points to avoid variables, suggested environments/tools and accessories to validate things like power consumption and/or noise, etc.
GL on the giveaway! I'd like to see some more HOTAS reviews. Excited for Star Citizen!
I'd like to see more reviews for those headphones, they look really good!
It would be really cool if Massdrop could manage to get some fancy 4K monitors, or even 120Hz 1080 monitors up for purchase.
That jetboil flash cooking system would make an interesting review!
Wow that looks pretty cool, but I'd love to see something of a DIY quadcopter review as well!
I would like to see more Amps/DACs reviewed Linus. Something that would accompany a pair of headphones like that nicely.
I would love to see you guys review the really small drone they have.
Keycap reviews would be awesome!
Still loving the socks and sandals combo my friend :)
A review of the new corsair all in one coolers would be sweeeet.
I love you Linus media group :-)!
7:19 almost in the ditch there, Linus.
You made me interested in this whole drone/RC thing LinusTechTips . Could you do a review on DJI Phantoms?
This thing was amazing, watching it in 4k on my 17" vga dell
I've been waiting so long for an O2 dac/amp to come up again on massdrop
I'd like to see Linus review a variety of different routers and put them head to head. Apple's range vs Netgear stuff etc etc
07:19 flying near cable.....brave man!
Also, I would get the compass calibrated every time before flight even if the manufacturer say otherwise.
Would love to see you review the Herman Miller Embody chair.
I think a review on different crash cameras would be cool. I didn't even realise there is a big market for them until today.
Please dude, try the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus. It's gorgeous!

I bet you money if you post this in the linus forums you will get more attention and this could happen
I just signed in with my steam account also
Count me in for those headphones! I think you should do more reviews of custom keycaps.
I did modify my GPS antenna with a spring to be flexible and not easy to break. Great intermediate quad.
Already a member to Massdrop.
I'd like an overview of the new "generic" (non Cherry) mechanical key switches, I'd like to know more about them and how they stack up to Cherry's flavors. Possibly a crazy build your own mechanical keyboard video with lots of different kinds of switches.
Awesome review.
Great review. As a suggestion for a review, you could review several DAC/Amp combos that are on Massdrop.
That title though
Already have a MassDrop account
Would be awesome to see a game review from you guys when GTA V finally releases for us. Would be cool to see such a unique video
I want to see you guys review the QAV250! Also, I'd really love it if you guys did a build video of that quad!
Oh sweet! Didn't expect a giveaway :P

You guys should review that portable kayak on massdrop, it looks really cool!
I would actually prefer the Bebop. It may also be the looks, but I definitely like the bundle you reviewed in terms of user friendlyness and robustness.
6:40
Please tell me that quality is because of youtube's decompression and not the actual video quality...
6:21 LOOK at all those tabs!....DAMN
A review of a trackball such as the current CST LaserTrac would be handy. Especially Luke's opinions of using it Star Citizen.
i'd like to see you do a review on all the different types of keycaps(construction material, backlighting capability...etc). Also, I would love to see a video explaining NVMe and all the MOBO's currently supporting it and also the initial MOBO's from the z97 early stage launch like the ROG Maximus VII Hero.

like to see the new aorux laptop!
Also i joined the massdrop!
I know you said you wouldn't but a Pebble Time review would be nice. I'm an original Pebble backer and will be upgrading, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
I'd love to see some Zowie mice or cable holders on Massdrop. They're something that a lot of people would be interested in in my opinion.
Already have a mass drop account, would be nice to see a review of the BeQuiet top flow when it comes out
I'd love to see you review the consistency between Kailh switches.
Would love to see a review of the TBS Gemini if you're planning to do more multi-rotor reviews.
Pretty cool that Massdrop is doing another giveaway.
I've already got a massdrop account, but I'd like to see them put the Yeti on sale or maybe a pair of Ie80s.
Hope to see an msr7 review soon!

A custom IEM video would be amazing
