- Lord Jamar shared a conversation with DJ Vlad about the book The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined, which makes claims about society being less violent today that it was in the past. He explained that while that may be true for European culture, Lord Jamar believes that Europeans have always taken a more violent path than African culture.
The Brand Nubian rapper went on to speak about how he thinks "wimps are running the world," as Jamar stated that whipping your kids is now illegal, but he believes that some kids today could benefit from a whipping. To hear more of what Lord Jamar had to say on the situation, hit the above clip.

There's a big difference between abuse and discipline. On one hand disciplined is when you have explained to your child right from wrong, what's allowed what's not allowed and/or what's good and what's bad. Once you've explained this to your child or children enough time's to know that they understand what's being told to them if they then break that rule or guideline that you placed in front of them and you spank them that's discipline. However if a child does something without knowledge of it being right or wrong good or bad allowed or not allowed and you spank them that's abuse because you did not give your child the opportunity to understand the difference between what he or she can and cannot do. The funny thing is the American justice system and government actually deals in abuse more so than they do discipline, the same government that wants to regulate how much control you have over your children is basically abusing the very Society they're supposed to serve common law is not taught in preschool, elementary school, middle school, by the time they reach high school they have the opportunity to learn about the law and the repercussions of breaking it however this is still something they must choose to learn rather than it being a common the same way math or history is yet when you break the law you are immediately disciplined without actually having a firm knowledge on what's right and wrong you learn what's right and wrong through the discipline which is abuse. The government is against you disciplining your children because they want that control for themselves so that they can regulate what type of adult your child actually becomes.

I remember one time when I was about 13 years old, my dad woke me and my little brother up at 4 in the mornin to re shingle the garage roof. it had to be about 40° outside and we didn't have any gloves so my fingers where numb. and this is back in the. so my dad is on the other side of the roof using a nail gun and me and my little brother on the other side using nails and hammers. so, my hands got so numb I ended up banging the fuck out of my thumb and I started crying. My dad came over, looked at it (wasn't bleeding, but swole and sore) popped me in the face a few times to "wake me up" and told me if I missed again he was gone give me something to cry about. I shut the fuck up and got back to work. I'm only 24 but I own my own business and I'm investing in other projects that may be beneficial for more investing in the future. if I didn't have my dad there and still here on my ass, I don't know WHO the fuck I'd be. I call myself blessed cause that pain taught me discipline. I think too much of my generation, unfortunately, did not have a father to learn these things from.

The reason a lot of kids are acting crazy in this generation, showing disregard for their elders and not taking responsibility in our society is the direct result of the lack of discipline. Children need boundaries and also need to understand consequences. Not all children require discipline, but those out of line definitely need to be checked.
