if you guys re-do the blimp with an air-sack full with helium and anchor it to the ground to make it neutrally buoyant, then maybe you guys can revisit this
To use it outside they would have to, or else wait for a day without even the slightest wind. Otherwise it will just be carried away. I would anchor it to a car, then it could move without being blown away. Not that RC airships haven't been used outdoors.
Doesn't need helium, needs adjustment or custom firmware. No doubt foam board so light, and plenty of motor/prop. Pitch will be slow due to the length, and roll has classic rocking from the control loop/error feedback system being off, similar to gain on a heli gyro being too high. Would be easy enough to adjust and fix the roll rocking. Pitch might be a little more trouble to really iron it out, but should be easy enough to get it to OK..
Whack-off? LOL. Don't you mean "wacky"? Whack-off is something totally different. Although as a kid I remember the Benny Hill show had that type of music with girls bouncing around in panties so maybe you're onto something.
Not a blimp but a Zeppelin. Blimps were tethered anti-aircraft balloons in WW2. Zeppelins were dirigibles in WW1. In fact you should have put a few lights on it and called it a LED Zeppelin :O
Have to say one of the funniest things I watched. Loved the switching back n forth between I guess is the movie music and the Kazoo music with the camera affect.
It's more practical to just have a massive drone. Lighter than air RC things get blown around horribly easily, especially outside - the surface area to thrust ratio is a bit wonky at the scale, since even a small gust for a little RC airship is like a huge gale-force wind for a real one.
The triplanes look great! Here's a couple ideas for you.... Why not put a bag inside the blimp filled with helium - it might not lift the whole blimp, but it might take a load off the motors.. And since you have the Red Baron's Fokker flying around and looking so good, the next logical(?) step is - you guessed it - Snoopy on his doghouse chasing him around. If anyone can do it, you guys can. :-D
I’m 65 yrs old and I love your videos! I’d love to hang with you guys! You guys keep me laughing and because of you I’m learning to make and fly the foam planes.
hahaha! The video guys did a great job musically on this one...Fantastic! We all were dying here in out seats watching the rough cuts! Thanks for watching Christopher and tell your son we say hello! ha Blessings and happy flying! S.O.
@Flite Test I really enjoyed this video. I laughed everytime that kazoo music played. However I can’t find that kazoo soundtrack. If you could please tell me the name of that kazoo music every time the zeppelin lost control, or atleast give me a link to the source, I’d appreciate it! Thank you! I look forward to more content
I like these guy's willingness to try, fail and try again. That's what this hobby should be about. Static modelers attention to detail should be admired but that's not for everyone. Seeing this channel grow and these guys do what they love makes me happy.
Thanks, folks. Your efforts always are a lot of fun to watch. Many of us are "closet RC Flight Freaks" but have had commitments that crowded out the actual indulgence of a hobby. I know it's not just animators addicted to remote flying... You have done so much to make the hobby AND comprehension of aerodynamic design ACCESSIBLE, somebody ought to strike a MEDAL for the TEAM~ !!!
I like when the scene gets incredibly serious when the Blimp is stable! But when it makes that True Battlefield 1 game physics it had me a crack open like an egg! hahaha!!!
The blimp would have worked if you had put the props at the top of the air frame rather than in the middle of the airframe... You can't draw air around a cylinder you guys know that..
Zeppelin: *slams the area where all the people are on the ground and then keeps flying* Yeah, that's how those work, right? 😂 historically accurate technology aside, this is an awesome video, along with all of your others. You guys got me back into rc as an adult.
That intro scene was AMAZING
Build a aircraft carrier then land some of your planes on it
They did
They already did
they also built the flying heli-carrier like in Avengers movie..
An aircraft carrier is a boatbut they did a flying one
Your wish came true
I rest my case, the transition between the epic instrumentals and the kazoo, the black cinematic bars and the zeppelin flopping around had me rolling.
2:55 its like a flying nuke
It is a nuke and nukes fly
Its looks like something North Korea would make.
It’s an airship
@Mira Akulshyn you have Reddit? Dude you're so cool! Teach me how to be as rad as you dude!

Darak Prime just what I was thinking, or several dollar store mylar balloons shoved inside to make it near neutral buoyancy.

but its fake!
Anchor it to a four wheeler, then drive the four wheeler around.
The shift in the music was really funny. Domination to whack-off and back and forth. Great work kids.
Whack-off? LOL. Don't you mean "wacky"? Whack-off is something totally different. Although as a kid I remember the Benny Hill show had that type of music with girls bouncing around in panties so maybe you're onto something.
Pretty sure the Benny Hill theme was Yakety Sax. Yep on YT as -Yakety Sax- Music
Dozer1642 iiiiiii
im pretty sure this is what a N Korean missle would do if they launched one XD
Correct
Yeah Basicly
wait no! its 2:54. stupid youtube
That's awesome.
Yup at 2:54 it is a missile that went a lot farther than me throwing any ball
OH THE HUMANITY!!! Also it's not a blimp, that's actually a Zeppelin.
you are right it is a Zeppelin
REESATTACK24 at least someone else noticed
No you’re a zeppelin
I call them airships. 😂
REESATTACK24 well you are veeeeeeerrrryyyyy correct
Glad to see they properly got them battlefield 1 blimp physics right! :P
I couldn't even tell the difference tbh
Nathan Trone Its not a blim its a zeppelin cyka blyat deus vult
Cyka blyan is russian
Nathan Trone zeppelin
Zeppelin
That's the derpiest blimp I've ever seen.OMG my eyes are tearing up from laughing so hard. Thank you so much.
Pile of carbon same here. Every time they switched tunes I would bust out laughing!
haha Thanks for watching guys! Glad you guys had a good laugh!!
Blessings,
S.O.
Pile of carbon it's a dirigible not a blimp
Pile of carbon It's a Zeppelin
Ikr
Go home Zeppelin, you're drunk
go home drunk, your zeppelin.
it flys badly cause either 1:the propellers are to close to the center or 2: the dampening on it is way to low.
With the gondolas gone it flew better with less weight and less of a pendulum effect, but yeah, wider prop distance and some FC tuning wouldn't hurt.
ye
lol true, they were probably trying to make a faster target so it would be harder.
Not a blimp but a Zeppelin. Blimps were tethered anti-aircraft balloons in WW2. Zeppelins were dirigibles in WW1. In fact you should have put a few lights on it and called it a LED Zeppelin :O
Zeppelin is a German blimp.
AR AR AR .... YOU GERMEN ?
@@sovietpotatoes674 the difference is whether or not it has a rigid frame. Zeppelin = rigid frame, blimp = soft
Oh I see what you did there you music fan bastard. ;)
Know it all
Have to say one of the funniest things I watched. Loved the switching back n forth between I guess is the movie music and the Kazoo music with the camera affect.
yeah the transitions from "Epic" to "Derpy" are absolute killer.
The beginning was great! The forced perspective was awesome!
cause the gigantic grass didn't ruin it for you, just the prop man.
if it were WW2 you could claim they were cannon rounds?
rudders back then were doped canvas over a light wood frame and would shred when shot
Why not build an actual airship?
exactly, put some hydrogen (or safer helium) in it
(if their is space) what's stopping them from putting hydrogen or helium balloons inside the thing?
You can easily build RC airships, the Airship will just float instead of consuming battery for simply staying afloat.
It's more practical to just have a massive drone. Lighter than air RC things get blown around horribly easily, especially outside - the surface area to thrust ratio is a bit wonky at the scale, since even a small gust for a little RC airship is like a huge gale-force wind for a real one.
Yeah and also it wouldn't be able to cope with a great deal of weight - which was a problem even for this one!
I genuinely laughed at the switching between dramatic music and the circus music when it gets wonky.
exactly what were those music titles anyway?
As a ww1 veteran I can confirm that this shows the true horrors fought above the battlefield
