It's crazy how older games like Here Come The Pain have translucent ring ropes near the camera so you can actually see the action but WWE 2K23 doesn't. Such a simple thing that should be added.

Just a quick bit of trivia; the SNES version of Super WrestleMania had the Undertaker exclusively and you couldn't hit finishers, while the MegaDrive / Genesis version had finishers, but no Undertaker. What could have been, lol.
I might only be 20 and only really got into wrestling in like 2011/12, but The Undertaker is one of my favourites and is definitely on my Mount Rushmore.

I just love SvR 2008 because it was the first WWE game I owned. The first i played was the 2007 version, but 08 was the first I owned. Also I loved the 24/7 mode and the way it varied depending on what player you used

2007 was the first i played then 2008 my brother owned and we loved it cuz the wrestlers and the vibe of it and music and the cutscenes and the way the game played was just different finishers felt brutal as hell over all was such a fun game with a good good roster
You should've tried the Royal Rumble match on WWF Royal Rumble on the Dreamcast, if you didn't try it already. It was unique at the time for allowing 9 wrestlers at once in the ring (most games back then and for years after only allowed 4 or 6 wrestlers max.), but because of the small roster, you could end up with 3-4 clones of the same wrestlers in the ring at the same time, it's whacky!
SVR 09 got me started in the Wrestling games. It was just a game my buddy had that was 2 player, so we played it. We ended up spending the whole night playing it lol

2008 on the PS2!!!!! hit different, i remember the 360 version not being as fun or a little MUCH but that was a great ps2 wrestling send off and will always be revered for that AND the special fighting styles were a great twist
If anyone is wondering when denkops said you need to play defeat the streak to unlock undertaker Well it is and case but slightly different Undertaker ( 2013 version ) is already on the game to begin with so don't need to unlock that version of him Undertaker retro ( purple gloves version ) you need to defeat undertaker in defeat the streak mode using either king Kong bundy or diesel Undertaker ( wm14 attire ) - beat undertaker in defeat the streak mode using Kane or retro kane Undertaker ( wm23 attire ) defeat undertaker in defeat the streak mode using batista Undertaker ( wm26 attire ) defeat undertaker in defeat the streak mode using Shawn Michaels or Shawn Michaels retro Undertaker American badass ( motorcycle undertaker ) was part of the collectors edition for wwe 2k14 meaning that version of undertaker was DLC and can no longer be brought which means you can no longer play as that version unless you already downloaded it years ago
Don't know if you knew this or not, but in the AKI games you can steal your opponents finisher by having your Special meter flashing then do a strong lock-up followed by pressing the A and B buttons together. You could have fought Kane and stole his finisher for the No Mercy portion.
War Zone was my very first wrestling game, Here comes the pain is my favorite, last wrestling game I played was SvR 08, so much nostalgia in this video.
I had the No Mercy for N64 and I remember it was so awesome, except for the data on the game would get wiped out every now and then for some reason I could never find out.

I think my favorites are close between Shut Your Mouth, Here Comes the Pain and SD vs Raw. I stopped playing at SD vs Raw 2009, it all got too repetitive after that....and haven't played since...
SVR 2008 ( if you played it for Xbox 360 ) just had an almost cartoonish BUT buttery , milky , smooth graphics like I’ve never seen before , The Game play wasn’t to impressive , but it first one that introduced different styles , like power house , high flier/ technician. Theres really nothing special about the game , but it was new and fresh , plus it was also a decent year for pro wrestling
