Thank you very much for your in-depth analysis and for the time you took to show the game. Author here :) I'm glad you liked the proposal. You have explained very well the philosophy behind the game: open and play, you can play anywhere, forget about bookkeeping, draw without fear, character changes, etc. I'm already finishing the second game, which will probably come out next year. I'm glad to see that some of your demands are satisfied in this future game in book format: investigation scenes (old PC adventure games like Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle), not only combat, characters with more depth and that can modify their characteristics according to your decisions, new “moral map” mechanisms, methods to reuse the damage you have lost against shields or by bad dice rolls (you almost want to fail), less linear story with more ramifications, etc.
This is really cool. You can do the markings like on page 11 on a separate sheet. For the active pages, you can place transparent pages over, rinse and repeat!
That's right, although the game is designed to draw on the pages without fear, I want everyone to feel comfortable: many players use transparent post-it (you can see example shorts in my profile, I can't put a link) to avoid painting on the pages. Anyway, I encourage you to draw, at high level you have to draw cool things like “meteor storm on the board” or “trap buried in the snow”.
Thank you for your interest! Right now it is out of stock in some stores, but it will be back in stock soon! In the meantime, in the Devir store you have it available and with free shipping. What country do you live in?
@@karinijsseldijk4591 hi! I cannot paste links here, but in the oficial game site, you have a list of shops. More shops coming as distribution across Europe is slow.
Author here :) I encourage you to draw, at high level you have to draw cool things like “meteor storm on the board” or “trap buried in the snow”. Anyway: want everyone to feel comfortable: many players use transparent post-it. No PDF, sorry. I've had bad experiences publishing in PDF. Besides, if you were to print it, you'd need to print over 240 pages in color, at a size larger than A4. And if you plan to play it digitally, you'd need a 15-inch tablet (since it's designed for double-page spreads). Additionally, there are mechanics that are tedious to play in PDF but very straightforward in physical format.
That is a very good question. I have done the test and it erases perfectly, without leaving any eraser mark or degrading the color. With a normal eraser. I have not tried industrial erasers. Anyway the campaign can be completely replayed without having to erase anything. The paper is thick and very pleasant to the touch, not transparent. I would say 150-180gr and with a slight roughness. Very nice when painting.

Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy it. Players comment that the game shines at its best when you've already passed the first tutorial scenes and you get new skills, items, change characters, game modes, etc.
Haha, I understand :) Thanks for the comment. I encourage you to draw, at high level you have to draw cool things like “meteor storm on the board” or “trap buried in the snow”. Enjoy! However, I want everyone to feel comfortable: many players use transparent post-it.
Maybe sticky notes? But let's be real, if you spend 1/2 the play just making sure the game stays intact, you're missing out on the fun - it's easier to buy two copies :)

@@anne-vc7bg Yes, transparent post-it is the solution for many players. But, as you said, this game was designed from scratch to draw amazing things on the pages.

@@enlascenizas6103 Is there any way to get a copy in Europe?

I could never! 😮 Honestly it sounds interesting, but I'd need an erasable PDF copy. Writing in the book feels like blasphemy.

"Do you want to fight an overgrown rat or the slippery rat?"
"The overgrown rat."
"Cool. Your goal is to defeat a slippery rat." :)
Haha, just a misprint. The combat stats and such are different. But the book had almost zero errors like that, and they were all minor
The real test is to know if the paper is of good quality. Does the color and text disappear or fade when you erase your pencil marks?
That is a very good question.

Did you manage to spot the hidden number on the rat page (there is a "93" in the snowy box)?
No!
I suppose tranparent post its would help here.

I might just check this out. I love the idea of writing in the book
It works well. It’s nice to not have to track anything as you go page to page

No way I'm writing in the book
For this one is particular it’s really tough not to, with the combat system as it is. There’s no feasible “green legacy” option
